Hello Marty, I agree with your choice of whistle- it sounds outstanding. Beautiful engine, my favorite of the Century Club lot. Good luck with it- I wish I had one, Thanks!
Very nice! That is a great locomotive, for sure. The fact that they used the proper tender is a plus. The 2426w was also used on the post-war 726. It is a perfect tender. The post-war 2466wx and the 6466wx were the baby brothers of the 2426 tender. The 671 used the six wheel 2671w tender, which I have behind my 681, which replaced my 671, quite a few years ago. That whistle is so cool sounding and has a nice wail to it. I run mostly post-war and MPC-era trains, with a few newer items, here and there and the Century Club stuff fits right in. An excellent video, as always.
Marty, what can I say! This locomotive is absolutely stunning. You’re correct, the whistle is so unique and sounds incredible. Lionel did a great job on this locomotive and all of the other locomotives as well for the Century Club. This was an outstanding review you provided on this locomotive, and all of the other Century Club locomotives you did in this series. Congratulations to you. I really enjoyed watching this and all of the other videos you made from the Century Club. Tom
Thanks. I really had fun running these engines especially with the rolling stock and passenger cars. I just got the rolling stock and passenger cars last year.
@@MartyE Thanks to you and your videos, I recently purchased the Century Club inspired rolling stock and passenger cars for my collection as well. I plan on setting up my GG1 with its passenger cars during the holidays. It’s the one locomotive I actually did open up years ago because Lionel packaged it with a 9 volt battery already installed in it, and was recommended that you take the battery out in case of leakage and battery acid damage. With that said, I purchased the 4 passenger cars that you said went perfectly with this locomotive, and I can’t wait to see what this set actually looks like complete!!! Thank you Marty for the inspiration
Marty this was such a wonderful series! The horn sounds amazing! The #773 is a magical locomotive because so many people dream about finding the postwar version of this. Great video, awesome review! 💯👍
Nice ending to the series, Marty! Very true on how the 29204 has come down in price over the years (probably true for most of these types of "intended to be collectible" boxcars, but that's a different topic ;) ). I recall thinking I got a pretty good deal when I paid someone $160 (!) for one, but that was probably at least 15-20 years ago,. Closer to when CC 1 was current, I remember most offerings of sale originally being closer to the $300 range. And can't argue on the Whistle, as other's have agreed. Some of that early TMCC stuff has phenomenal sounds, even if technically an older version of the hardware before the technology evolved into RS4, RS5, Legacy RS. I sort of want to dig out my Die Cast miniatures now for the CC 1 engines, I haven't looked at them for quite a while. I think they were offered at the end of the program after this last engine. Not sure if they were the last offered CC 1 item, but they might have been.
A fine end to a great series Marty! That 773's a stunner, no doubt about it! Thanks for sharing it and all the rest with us!
Thanks. I really enjoyed doing this series. I may have one more idea for this series but it will be a while.

Thanks! They do show up regularly on ebay and Trainz.
That is a nice-looking locomotive! 🚂 😊
It holds up well for 24 years old. Thanks for watching!

Thanks. It was a really fun series. I always have a soft spot for these engines.
My favorite locomotive out of my entire collection.
A lot of people feel that way. It is pretty iconic.

Great video Marty
Thanks. I enjoyed making these.
I’ve really enjoyed this series of videos on Lionel’s Century Club. Thanks Marty
Thanks. I was hoping to do this for a while.

Thanks. I haven't collect the miniatures....yet. The Century Club IMO is coming into it's own. It really is a great set of engines.
Marty, I lost your phone contact. You'll have to send my number a text for me to get it back. It's still the same number. I got a new phone last week.
