    David, Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. You make me feel a little bit better now that I am branching out from regular leds into pixel shows.

    Thanks again David, I am installing an F16 controller with 2 12V power supplies in my CG1500. Do I need to consider adding a cooling fan to my controller box.

      I haven't seen the need before. What I always tell people are these few things:
      1) Climate does matter. If you're in the desert, maybe! I live in Nashville and have never needed to vent my enclosures, and some days it is 60+ degrees Fahrenheit during the Christmas season. I also have an un-vented box in my attic that runs year round, and it's fine as well, even in the summer when it is over 100 degrees up there.
      2) As long as you use quality Meanwell power supplies, they will shut down if they overheat. I've never had that happen in my display. Remember that even though there's no air venting out, the sides of these boxes aren't exactly insulated! So heat will transfer though the CG1500 sides all day long!

      Hi David - the point of this video is to keep it simple, and to keep it relevant over the long haul. That's why we don't mention prices, because over time, they do change. I bought the exact list using your codes but the xconnect extensions sent are different colors. I have yellow, brown, and blue. I’m not sure how to wire?

      These can be inconsistent from the factory, most often brown is the +, blue is the negative, and yellow is usually data with this color scheme. Wire it up for one pigtail and make sure it works before you plug everything in :)

    How do you size your psu

    • @LearnChristmasLighting
      @LearnChristmasLighting 2 года назад

      You've got to look at the total number of pixels and how much wattage that will take at the brightness level you plan to run them at. Then, you can load up a given power supply to about 80% max.
