Dear srini No doubt a good quality seed is a important precursor for plant germination and growth you can stop flowers shedding by using soured butter milk spray on the leaves when plants starts flowering.This will increase the flowering and also prevent flowers falling and more flowers maturing into good sized tomatoes Tomatoes also require potassium which you can provide by crushing the used banana peel and mixing with little water and adding on top soil a day before you ware the plant so that all minerals and nutrients can be absorbed and do not get drained out .all the best
You can even add fresh ones for attracting worms...but to use it for plants as a fertilizer,you need to store the fresh cowdung for more than a month in a place....only then the dung will get decompose to become manure
I have some watermelon shell. I am afraid to put it because at first time i put watermelon and next day i touch it it was so heated then i took them all from the bin ...so i am confused can i put it?????does the heat spreads the entire bin and Does my worms try to escape???
See.. 1.The bin should be flat and rectangular...only then it can settle somewhere if there is heat around.. 2.just add these waste in corners..don't add just like that... For example After the bedding..add these waste at one corner...and wait for 3 to four days... You can find that the bin is hot at that corner alone....then within another 2 to 3 days it will cool down...then the worms feed on them...after that add at another corner... Like this you can go on with the feeding... Add some normal compost to the bin..it can also feed the worms

To prepare eru, I'll get the maatu saanam from our cow shed person. How long should I store it in water before adding it to the compost bin.
