Hello Melvin. Thank you for the video post. We need your help in a big way. We recently purchased the new UJF 7151 Plus 2 for this “specific purpose”, 2.5D, and was assured by Mimaki that this function was supported for our platform. Textured layering is critical to our business model. I only found out a week ago after installation that it is not. Although we have Rasterlink 7 Tools for Illustrator the driver is not available/functional for our platform…which is the number 1 reason we purchased the Plus 2. Now, we’re searching frantically for a work-around. When will the driver be ready? What is a way to accomplish what you’ve done in the demonstration with our printer? Please assist.
@storytellerHD. We are so sorry for the delayed response. We will like to escalate this to the Tech department. Can you email us at usa.info@mimaki.com with your contact information, and the dealer that sold you the printer? Thank you
Hi, I'm writing from Italy, where can I find a company in the United States or in my country that can print my creations with this technique? Thank you
You don’t have to enlarge the file but through our experience, creating your textured layer with this process helps reduce file size of the rendered layers (up to 17) and helps ensure a smoother transition between layers.
I have a 2513 but that option isn’t available in my rasterink. We are using flexible ink as well…. What version of raster did you use and what type of ink?
2.5D is only available on the JFX200 EX and JFX 600. Learn more: www.mimakiusa.com/products/uv-led-flatbeds/jfx600-2513/ and www.mimakiusa.com/products/uv-led-flatbeds/jfx200-series/
Hello, With a flat rigid substrate, raising the head is not generally needed, but please refer to the user manual available here (mimaki.com/archives/034/202304/D203460-17_JFX200-2513EX_2.5DTextureMakerGuide_e.pdf) for a list of known substrates that work well for this application. For materials not on this list, we recommend testing prints with a slightly raised head gap of 1.8mm (1.5 headgap +.3mm additional) starting with fewer layers to assess if the material is suitable for texture printing and how it will react to the extra ink and curing.

Hello! On our Instagram, we highlight some of our customers who own a print shop and use this printer! Check them out: instagram.com/mimakiusa/
Why you need to double the image size on illustrator and resize it in rasterlink? Why don't you use the original image size?

Any similar idea for a UJV 100 - 160 ?
With the UJV-100 you are able to print with a layer of clear/white on top/bottom of the color print depending on the machine ink configuration.
What should be my head height to do this print? Should be above the regular 1.5 mm from the automatic head height?
What do you recommend me?
Hello,
