truly agree!! At first I thought Magnetic sounded like a NewJeans song, but hearing this made realize the difference in style and concepts between the two groups. Magnetic definetely fits ILLIT better!
Also the clothing between the two groups is also different. NewJeans often wear baggy clothings while IllIt wear a lot of Harajuku-Kawaii style clothing. Plus IllIt reminds me of the Sanrio characters in terms of appearance.

Same like my first impression was that the hairstyles (and the number of members) made them look really similar, but genre-wise they're definitely different. NewJeans can pull this concept off, but based on their music style and clothing that they wear in performances, I don't think that's the case. Both groups emphasize on the youthful concept, but NewJeans have that It-Girl / High School vibes while IllIt have a lot of cute vibes (almost resembling to the Sanrio characters). NewJeans often wear a lot of baggy clothes with a hint of cute; IllIt on the other hand wear Harajuku clothes (closely related to the Lolita / Fairy Kei fashion).
I also want to point out that both groups target a specific audience. NewJeans is targeting more on the Western audience rather than the Asian audience even though they're popular in Asia, and Illit is targeting on the Asian audience (they're already popular in Japan).

From the natural hairstyle, to the costumes, to the song dedicated to Tiktok, without bridges and lasting 2 minutes, singing softly and without any variation in the members' singing and the plus of the fact that they have remained at 5 members and not 6 because of the girl who got out. It's obvious that all of this is going to remind you of newjeans. It's literally a formula that companies see works and that's it, y'all have no reason to deny it, nor that it was a bad thing

It's actually hard to experiment and make something relatively new when it is "new"; people won't expect it and might REALLY flop.
ILLIT is relatively similar, conceptually and musically, but saying that their basically the same or better than another is like comparing two jazz legends (i.e. Gillespie and Armstrong) and comparing them. Each of those legends made a mark in their own respective ways.
So in short, let's just enjoy each group for what they have to offer. The "formula" works, but it's sort of their take on it.
