This guide may be good for new agents for familiarisation. However, when you play this mode enough you will notice that merging your group (to 8-man) as early as possible and taking down all counter-measures before any encounter is the most efficient way and net the most loot. These days, most agents in a random Countdown already know this.

We run this as a 8men group...all hunters...and every encounter...npc had no chance when 8 people stick together..

I think the main takeaway from all Countdown clips are:
If you're the squad leader and the team fills up, start the damn countdown!
Oh and get the Hunters FIRST, before entering/starting any of the Objectives in buildings.
I prefer getting all buffs then taking out each objective as a full team of 8. In my experience not only does it go faster, but everyone gets the loot from the crates.
Like a lot of your comments say, do the hunters all together is definitely faster and more loot. Also another major disadvantage of splitting up to do the objectives is that when players get disconnected (which happens A LOT), each team ends up under manned and the objectives take too long and also fail quite a bit. In a perfect world where nobody gets disconnected, everyone knows what they are doing and have good builds I agree with everything you are saying. However there are a lot of disconnects, people don't always know exactly what they are doing and have thrown together builds of brands they need to level up, and running as an 8 man team is almost always better than the way you describe. I'm not being disagreeable, just an observation. Love your content.
To maximize gear and hunter dog tags I would definitely as an 8 man group do all 4 hunters together or mostly together. Otherwise you miss out on a ton of the best gear.
Also at Extraction call Evac Heli when theres about 5 seconds of time left, so you all can farm more waves of enemies.

@@ownzye-3630yep in my experience that’s when the best gear usually drops so if you bail early you usually miss out on the named items, exotics, etc. This morning I had a Tardigrade, Momento and several quality named items drop from the hunters that come in the helicopter right after sending off the flare. Now if I can just get a good raid crew to get the Regulus…..
can you get that item form the Countdown even if you have not got it in a raid?@@Romanus-
My clan and friends have been running this quite a bit. We noticed that if you run it as an 8 man team. You all get loot from the hunters. And you all get loot from each of the encounters. There's enough time to do all three encounters in most cases. When there's not, you do too. And get the main objective done. And the XP that you get per run. Doubled. When you work as an 8 man team. We started off splitting up. Like you instructed. In the video. And that works good as well. Great video. Thanks.
@16:25 the countermeasure info it's not correct tho. Agents sklills do 25% damage to enemies, means players skills do only 0,25x damage so instead of 1m, the same skill will do 250k. when clear it if I remember properly you get 25% more damage so a 1m skill will do 1,25m. the close range resistance works the same way, you do 0,75x damage in close range, so 1m bullet will do 750k damage. when cleared we get 25% more damage, so a 1m bullet will hit for 1,25m we don't get 75% more damage as said.
Also the way to get more loot is when both groups stick together, there's a range to get a drop so if you split the teams yes you'll complete the activity a bit faster but you get less drops (you dont get drops from the other group across the map), you'll only get the drops from the activities your group was doing it. If both groups stick together you can get 40-50 pieces of loot in 1 run.
Countdown is so simple once you figure it all out but figuring it out isn’t easy.

You mentioned at the beginning of the video about player extracting too early. You should have thrown some info to players so they would understand why it’s best to wait until the last secs to call the chopper in.

As a newish player what I love about this game is the massive amount of customization options in terms of builds/play styles, every weapon is relevant, what I don’t like is not a whole lot of people playing countdown or raids. For the past week I’ve tried matchmaking into countdown on challenging and heroic waiting for 30 or so minutes with 0 luck getting a team each time. I understand veteran players get tired running the same modes but damn even newer players I run into don’t care to bother with it. So summits been my stomping ground as it’s easy to solo for a solo player.
It’s most likely that you are trying to match for a heroic countdown but have a low SHD level. A lot of groups won’t let you join the countdown if it’s heroic and you’re watch level is below 200-300. I’d suggest trying countdown on challenging instead of heroic if you’re over 100 SHD. If you’re lower than that you might wanna get your level up before running countdown. Hit up resource convoys if you want a quick way to level up

Can you do a video walking through the actual steps to finish each area of the map. I seem to find my teams often fail the main mission which snow balls into getting crushed at the extraction. The gold/yellow icons seem to be ignored by most of my team which seems to just trigger more enemies to come out. Everyone just focused on shooting the enemies and not the tasks.
I wish i had made more room in my inventory before doing my first run. I left 20 spaces thinking that would be enough, i should have left 50. For the second half of the run i had to leave all the loot because i had no room for it, and some were named items. The amount of loot is crazy!, but good.

Happy day ! Here is my update on the Doctor Home Exotic. I was able to use my second character and do all the missions over on the EASY settings. I had a random group for the General Anderson mission. We successfully completed the mission and I did finally receive the upgraded Doctor Home Exotic with the 350 RPM. Thanks for the information Kamikaze.
Do you like it? It might just be me but I find it very difficult to use effectively
If starting from A and C, I find it better that everyone hits the first left Hunter, then the other buff switches together, that way you loot all 4 hunters, following by doing everything with 8. its faster and painless especially now that we are all trying to 'proficient' our shit gear so our DPS is down.
I wish at the end of the game it doesn't rush and dump you back at DC with no chance to assess and chat to your teammates. it's been quick and fun constantly matchmaking straight in but the exit feels wrong and soulless.

So, I was doing some fancy thinking, but I was had to hack all 3 things in Administration... at first I was really pissed off because I had to do everything by myself... but it took so long that 6 named enemies came out... but it was a ton of loot... and then the 4 minute extract timer starts... I had over 70 pieces of gear in that run
The point being, you can milk out the last objective kinda like the extraction to maximize your loot drops...
I'm not doing The Countdown to complete it just farming those Hunters.
I personally think thet need to change the end (extraction point). Something like defend the extraction point, maybe 5 waves of enemies or what else what's better than now.
So you goin, kill the hunters and leave?

someone went off on a solo VIP clear in a session today. didn't even know that events could be failed in countdown until then...
IMO skipping the Engineer objective is the way to go unless you have a really good crew to run countdown. If you have some newbies in the group getting all 3 encounters done in time is tough
I always spawn at charlie along with the full 8.
I have a question about Countdown. If I set my "targeted loot" to say Hunters Fury .. do all the player see my loot preference or do they have their own targeted loot? and if I pick up all the loot am I taking everything so no other player can collect loot? I love countdown but I never want to be a "rude player" :)
No one can see your targeted loot selection and everyone has their own targeted loot. Just to be clear, whatever loot is highlighted on your screen only shows up on your screen as loot cannot be taken by anyone else so grab as much as you can.
Is it better to get on the chopper or stay behind for one more loot?
It depends, if you don’t get on the chopper you won’t get many countdown points. Those credits can be used to buy exotic caches, named item caches etc. If you see a ton of loot and think it’s worth the risk then grab it but usually you’re best bet is to get as much loot as you can until there’s 10-15 seconds left and then run to the copter
Hey, I do have a question about the core attributes. I saw that the best players have all red core attributes. How do you guys have changed it? I'm sorry for a stupid question but I have completely no idea how to do it. Can anyone help me out please?

Are NPCs buffed cuz red bars are destroying my full maxed heartbreaker 1.6 mil armor at full stacks that’s over 3 mil armor and it’s gone in less than 3 secs
Thats just normal division 2, the enemys in countdown should be around raid lvl of difficulty so they hit quite hard

Use a banshee pulse to slow them down, or a Scorpio if you have one is perfect for countdown IMO

Facts. I'm tired of starting with 8 people and making it to extraction with 3 and being slaughtered before we can extract.
i stop crashes by updating my vid card software. benn doing this for years and it work!
