Nope. A myth that he never hurt anyone. There are a couple on record saying that Bret injured them in the ring. Bad News Brown is one of them. Great wrestler, one of the best of all time, but talked his own schtick for so long that he genuinely believes all of it.
@@fuzzluvver69bad news has had an issue with Bret for years because he feels that Bret only got over in stampede because he was the promoters son. Not exactly a non bias account. Who else has said he injured them? Disco? Please.
First, this match never happened on RAW because that started in '93 and Bret's last IC run was '92. The match Vito is talking about wasn't even for the title. Just a TV squash match in '91.
Far as I'm concerned if anyone has the right to be unhappy about the hand he was dealt it's Bret Hart. His brother was killed in the ring, he was royally screwed over and an incompetent wrestler who had no place in the ring ended his career prematurely costing him 10s of millions of dollars. I'd be bitter about it too, He doesn't need to get over it if he doesn't want to. He's allowed to feel who he feels.
That's why Bret is the best. Genuine guy, real professional. People call him names these days but I think they don't understand. This man had to take so much disappointments and went through tragic and tough times. Than an unsafe wrestler like Goldberg who ended his career. Bret always ate shit and I would be pissed too. Actually I know this feeling and you get bitter. Nice guys finish last I guess. Sadly...
That's why it always amazes me that Bret and HBK are often compared as the best from the 90s. One guy was a class act and always got the best out of everyone and treated them right. The other guy was known for treating others like shit and sabotaging their matches and careers. Shawn single handedly ruined Vaders push at SS 1996. Bret is far superior to HBK in every way except maybe promos.
Even Vader says HBK was right to be pissed about that spot. Vader buried himself. Edit: I'm not saying HBK was always a stand up guy, just that Vader is a bad example.
@brandonsopinion8904 it's not a bad example. Even if Vader screwed up, he was being humble and took accountability during that interview. What Shawn did was totally unprofessional and has been called out by other people. So because Vader screwed up a spot that gives hbk the right to break kayfabe and loudly start yelling what he should have done? That makes it right that plans for Vaders title win and series of matches with hbk were cancelled? You're smoking something.
@@josereyes1148 Maybe, if he wasn't ready for the big show, he should have stayed in Japan, or even WCW. I mean let's be honest here, better wrestlers were buried for less.
I attended a WWE event before Brett went solo. The matches looked more fake than usual but when Brett got in the ring it was a different story. He looked like he was beating the shit out of his opposition and the entire crowd responded. He made a fan out of me that night.
This makes me think that he subconsciously went hard on him because of how hard wrestling was installed in him when he was coming up. And when he either realized it or it was pointed out to him he felt bad about it
I think the point of this video is that Bret did in fact NOT have to apologise but did anyway. I swear these video titles are getting more egregious by the day
Bret never seriously injured anyone by all accounts. I think that’s why he takes the Goldberg thing so personal. He was safe with everyone and then got put in there with someone who didn’t give a damn about safety.
Bret is only bitter towards Vince and Goldberg. Towards HBK too until they finally made peace. And he had I think legitimate reasons to be, but he should have made peace with all of them long ago. My take. Other than that, he always been a class act with pretty much everybody, from what I saw and heard.

Yeah I thought it was strange. Why would Vito get a title shot?
First, The Message still applies. Try remembering something from your work 32 years ago. You might miss some details.
Bret is the most honest wrestler ever. He straight speaks the truth
Vito was underrated af.
