Robin Williams brought joy to the lives of so many people through his comedy, acting, and charity work. There is no doubt he will forever be remembered for his comedic genius and heartwarming performances. Tragically, Robin died by suicide in 2014 at age 63. The event shook the entertainment world and caused millions of fans to grieve for the loss of such a beloved actor and human being who brought so much humor to the world. What many people do not know is that depression was not the underlying cause of Robin’s suicide-rather, it was a little-known brain disease called Lewy body dementia. In the last year of his life, Robin experienced a startling pattern of behavior. His friends, family, and film colleagues could tell he was not himself as he began exhibiting symptoms like confusion, forgetfulness, paranoia, hallucinations, anxiety, personality changes, and difficulty with movement. Robin could tell something was wrong, too, but he did not know what was happening to him, why it was happening, or how to stop it. Robin and his wife, Susan Schneider Williams, sought help from numerous medical specialists, but were unable to obtain a correct diagnosis before his untimely death. After his death, an autopsy revealed advanced stages of Lewy body dementia, a less common form of dementia that affects an estimated 1.4 million people in the US.

I always think that this (and possibly Good Will Hunting) showed Robin Williams at his versatile best. Love the lines in this clip: "This whole camouflage thing for me doesn't work very well...because you go in the jungle, I can't see you, it's like wearing stripes and plaid. For me, I want you do something different. You know, you go in the jungle, make a statement. If you're going to fight 'clash'!"

"Bob, what do you do?"
"I'M IN ARTILLERY! JUST PLAY IT LOUD!"
You can see Whittaker and the other actors unable to control themselves.
Except for Kirby(Young Clememnza)
Robin Williams you were such a treasure at curing cancer and bringing the magical joy of laughter to the world! 😂🌈 Rest In Peace Mrs. Doubtfire! ❤️🙏
"Thank you for that lovely tune. That funky music will drive us til the dawn. Let's go, let's boogaloo til we puke."
I haven't been able to watch any of his movies since his passing. God I miss him so much.
Suicide is not exactly passing away.........
Those that smile the brightest are often the saddest.
I feel like I just dropped acid. Thank you Mr. Williams for giving me years of entertainment. RIP.
Only those of who were there truly understand and appreciate this movie. Thanks 😊
I've had this as my wake up tone for like 2 years now. Best thing to wake up to in the morning
I'll bet, lol!
Watching his clips makes me sad because he's gone.
I've never met another man who could improvise like him. He was the best.
We didn't deserve Robin Williams. He was so fucking funny in any film that was a comedy!
We don't need your filthy language cesspool mouth.
I'm so sick of people saying we didnt deserve something. That doesn't make any sense.
Why wouldn't we? Stupid comment
@@garbygarb31 they usually mean they themselve don't deserve. That shamefully add everyone to their self pity and say "we"
Damn the people in the replies are such babies. It’s a figure of speech why bring hate for no reason here?
There will never be another Robin Williams
This is how I'll always remember him.. Rest in peace, friend..
I can't keep from laughing during the discussion about the upcoming press conference: "Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up an M.I.A., and then we'd all be put on K.P." LOL
theres a traffic report, we have a water buffalo jackknifed up here on the ho chi Minh trail , there are horns every where, we're going to get some napalm and try to cook him down .....Lmao
VP = vice president
VIP = very important person
PC = ?
QT = ?
VC = Vietcong
MiA = missed in action
KP = ?
@@NoNameAtAll2 PC: Press conference. QT: quiet. KP: Kitchen patrol. So, to stretch the phrase: "Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the Vice President is such a Very Important Person, shouldn't we keep the Press Conference Quiet? 'Cause if it leaks to the Viet Cong he could end up Missing In Action, and then we'd all be put on Kitchen Patrol." (note, the latter is generally considered punishment. peeling potatoes, chopping onions, washing dishes, generally for the whole base.)
ccggenius12 Thanks.
“And if you dooooo...and if you Doooooo.....AND IF YOU DOOOOOO......
@@NoNameAtAll2 , I would say that PC= Press Conference.....QT=keeping it quiet from those who shouldn't be made aware that the VP is there.....KP=Kitchen Police, the grunt work of the mess hall....prep work, cooking, cleaning up etc....the worst thing that can be assigned to a soldier, usually means that they screwed up somewhere.
When we were at base camp trying to get our feet dry and pouring rice out of our kits it was a breath of fresh air to hear him. A lot of people didn't like him but to us he was a piece of the world. A-2-1!
He was an amazing man. There will never be another Robin Williams. RIP.
OMG... There will never be a talent to equal Robin Williams xxxxx
Robin Williams FOREVER 🙏💪☀️💯
WHO IS WITH ME ?
I always think that this (and possibly Good Will Hunting) showed Robin Williams at his versatile best. Love the lines in this clip: "This whole camouflage thing for me doesn't work very well...because you go in the jungle, I can't see you, it's like wearing stripes and plaid. For me, I want you do something different. You know, you go in the jungle, make a statement. If you're going to fight 'clash'!"
For me that would probably include What Dreams May Come and One Hour Photo. The former left me crying for most of the movie and the latter was terrifying.
My parents got the soundtrack to this movie when I was a kid, which contains a lot of Robin's radio segments as well. Most of the jokes sailed majestically over my head but it was still the funniest thing I'd ever heard.
“If you’re going to fight - clash” is my favorite.
Robin Williams was the best imrpov performer I've ever seen. I mean, he prepared a lot in advance, but I'll be damned if it isn't difficult to detect which is which in that scene! That kind of talent and work is so rare, and I don't think I'll see anyone that funny again in my lifetime. He truly was a master of improvisational comedy!
The Legend, the One and Only Mr. Robin Williams you are sorely missed Sir 😢😢😢. All of your movies Live on and in Our ❤s. R.I.P.
I was always a big fan of Robin Williams. I am so grateful to have seen him live in Australia on stage. After all these years I can still get emotional with the loss of him.
Whenever I need cheering up I look for Robin .Thanks Robin we hardly knew ya.Bravo
"Little CROTCH-POT COOKIN'!"
"Were you BORN on the SUN!?"
"Let's boogaloo 'till we puke."
"Uhh Adrian, we got a jackknifed water-buffalo down there..."
"Beco you go into dee jungle, I CAN'T SEE YOU!"
Man, Robin just riffing in a highlight-reel compilation was absolutely the highlight of GMV. Thanks for uploading!
His genius will be with us always, and long after we're all gone it'll be enjoyed by people not even born yet.
Timeless . . .
Loved Robin so much. He was the best. So dern funny
god damn... I'm sitting here watching this.. I remember the summer it came out...86...I was doing the morning announcements before school let in...I was the biggest nerd and all the jocks fell in love with me cuz I cracked them up...Robin Williams.. wherever you are, you're missed and loved...I hope you're in heaven making all the angels laugh... thank you for your gift here on earth xoxoxo
That was 86.....Jesus I was 16...
The greatest entertainer of my generation. You are sorely missed pal.😪
Where you callin from? poon tang! hows the weather? Its HOT its Damned HOT! lol i almost died
What's it going to be like tonight?
HOT and wet!
Good if you're with a lady, not so good if you're in the jungle 😂😂
Got to have adult knowledge to understand this joke. What surprise it was when puberty kicked that info into the brain.
the most surprising part about this movie is the Adrian Cronauer was a real person a radio DJ of the time so Robins in prof is based on a real person witch just adds another dimension to the hole thing
the actor playing the Sgt. Major should have got an Oscar for keeping a straight face and looking pissy while having to listen to Williams' hijinx
Without any doubt, this crazy yell of "Good Morning, Vietnam!" will never be the same! It'll only be clearer and stronger and - a bit - sadder! It's already a trademark for this fabulous, crazy, magnificent clown!
R.I.P. dear Robin!
My father and a few of his friends actually had a pirate radio station during the Vietnam War. They used a boat so they could move around lessing the chance of getting caught.
Dan Levitan: "Yes, well, um... a very good day to you, listeners..."
*(puts in for the midnight to 3am slot just to avoid having to follow Cronauer...)*
Such a comical genius. You will be sadly missed Robin.
I miss him he was an amazing actor a comedy genius, if he only knew how many people loved him.
The real gem of these scenes is seeing Forest Whitaker and Rob Wuhl legitimately laughing their asses off in the background, because they had no idea what was going to be said. Robin Williams ad-libbed about 90% of the dialog in this movie. Absolute genius.
Next Question: What qualified as "propaganda" in the flim "Good Morning Vietnam" and how did the central characters react to it?
@@mrteaparty6090 my comment makes no mention of propaganda, so what are you referring to?
It just a genuine question.
@@mrteaparty6090
A vague one at that. When someone answers your question with another question you decide to immediately deflect it with "iT's jUsT a GeNuInE qUeStIoN"? You are pretentious as fuck dude.
Robin Williams was and for ever will be the greatest comedian this world has ever known.
Robin Williams was and always will be the greatest comedian of all time. I know he's making God laugh like no other. Rest in peace Robin Williams.
Still can't believe he's gone, will be dearly missed.
Cannot believe I haven't seen this movie yet. Have been obsessed with this scene for the past couple of months considering a guy I know kept shouting "GOOOOD MORNING VIETNAMMM". I'll absolutely need to see it soon. RIP Robin Williams.
Oh my god. Such a flood of emotions. I'm saddened by this man's death and yet, I laugh so hard at him. I pause and then stunned. I wish we had done more to help him. God bless Robin Williams' soul.
The movie was marketed as a comedy and it absolutely is, but it also has a dramatic element that Williams was able to make shine just as brightly. A perfect vehicle for this immensely talented man.
What did you think qualified as "propaganda" in the flim "Good morning vietnam" and how did the central characters react to it?
How did it utilize comedy
