This dance style was used in the Ogima Lodge. In some of the stories here in lake of the woods, this dresses denoted the sound of life. They used the dress in the healing ceremonies and there were different ways they danced. The old people of that society say they move to make that sound. No right or wrong way. But we should respect everyones beliefs. We may never know we all might have a little peice of the truth!!!
@Scabzilla49 I've heard it from lots of people. That it mimics the sun dance style of dancing... Women had their hands on their hips during side step. But that's just what I've heard. I like swaying my arms and all don't get me wrong, it keeps you more fluid.. but I've heard it from many people that swinging your arms isn't true Old Style.
beautiful just beautiful
@cloeful94 back in the day they didn't wear leggins hence "old style"
