    About Shapez.io:
    shapez.io is a game about building factories to automate the creation and combination of shapes. Deliver the requested, increasingly complex shapes to progress within the game and unlock upgrades to speed up your factory.
    Since the demand raises you will have to scale up your factory to fit the needs - Don't forget about resources though, you will have to expand in the infinite map!
    Since shapes can get boring soon you need to mix colors and paint your shapes with it - Combine red, green and blue color resources to produce different colors and paint shapes with it to satisfy the demand.

    Written at 22:36 you can weld (stack) a "disconnected" piece with no problem, so long as it doesn't overlap it all goes on the same layer, that way you can use a single painter for your Fuschia/Purple double painter.
    27:14 you missed a splitter.
    edit: you fixed it way later, nvm.
    38:12 this time for real missed it.

    Try using lvl2 trash bin. It will create an overflow buffer. Super useful at the output of cutter so one item doesn't affect others. Super addictive game!

    Colour effeciency - double paint the full shapes for each corner, then split them and reform them from scratch after they are all painted.
    Eg:full white circles, full purple circles, full purple pinwheels, full red pinwheels. Quadchop and build.

    I hope they add an overflow valve so the outputs of splitters don't have to be so carefully synchronized. It can get really frustrating trying to get them to all run full belts

    The game forbids 3/4 pinwheels in the code. Any shape that generates with more than one windmill piece gets its first two subshapes (not sure which two those are, but they're the first two in the code so likely the right half) set to rectangles. I think that's part of why the RuRuWuWu is so common.

      Oh, that's interesting. I was curious why they all are the same. But that's a strange decision non the less. Why not make more different shapes? (Keeping the rule of not more than 2 windmill parts)

    18:55 I believe the color mixer processes 6 items per second, so you should only need 5 mixers for a 30/s belt

      You're correct! I had some issues with my save file and recreated the blueprint area about 4 times... Evidently I missed that one.

    You can copy paste from map mode if you want to draw from map mode.

    Since its additive color wheel the colors are rgb, cmy, and white. So red green blue, cyan magenta, yellow, white.

      She stated very clearly that using the quad painter would be too "easy" and she wanted to do things her own way in a more creative and fun way.

    Once I got to the endgame I just found a shape that had all four shape types and used it in a thing that can make any possible shape (up to four layers deep which I found to be the current max) it is super big and took almost 300,000 blueprints to make. I could probably cut the size in half due to more efficient paint mixers. Took me like 5ish hours to make and 1 hr to hook up paint. Can go from one shape to the next in like 10 min at the fastest

    Chaining up the quad painter is an interesting challenge that involves underground belt braiding.

      There are ways to chain it without: you can always add belts on the sides instead.

    a game recomandation if I may, it's an optimisation/gestion game on mars so I think it's your jam. The game is called Red Planet Farming and for a free steam game it is really well made

      @@lihuachen6806 Which browser? Safari? Chrome? I first tried the web version in Chrome on Windows 10 but didn't have any difficulty. I very promptly bought the game through Steam and that's where I've been playing it.

      I played it on safari.
      Plus Macs don’t have any left and middle clicks, and no enter, and alt button, so it’s frustrating to play on Mac and to delete you have the control + click.

    I wiped the world clean once I finished the level 18 too, I needed all the frame I could get for my universal fabricator, it's quite the headache.
    If you're looking for a challenge, trying to make a fabricator capable of buildng a full belt of any shape and color combination will keep you busy for a few episodes :D

      I am not interested in those kinds of "universal" machines: they essentially trivialize the game and is a lot of waste. (e.g. you would have shape cutters for 2x of each type of shape, then multiple lines of color (4x of each color to paint 8 potential parts = 28 belts of color .... all to make a single shape. (And that's only for 2 layered ones. Multiply that for the 4 layer shapes you get at later levels). It's a "cute" project, but very wasteful on machinery costs and FPS.
      I find it MUCH more fun to design a machine for each shape. But everyone has their own proclivities for fun :-)

      ​@@KatherineOfSky I see, I get bored of building the same builds in a different order for each new type of shape so I busy myself trying to generalise the assembly and optimise it down, colour especialy can be reduced a lot with double and quad painting so you wouldn't need 16 belts of each primary colour for example.
      I admit it's not for everyone though, there a lot more number crunching involved.
      The essential part is you have fun so keep up the great work, it's quite enjoyable listening to your videos while wracking my brains on my designs.

      This game challenges you to think about what kind of solution you want. Small foot print? Effective use of colour? Effective use of shapes? Modular? Or a lot of machines that produces the shape, but not gaat and then copy paste five more?
      The joy of a logistic game,find a solution, but make your own challenge.

    Heh, so I decided to do a slight refactor of my logo fab array from my first play-through, made a slight miss-click with a blueprint and completely borked it. So... I systematically went through and fixed a single instance of the fab, deleted the rest of the array, re-copied it all. FWIW, it's delivering ~7K/m of the logo. My blueprint shape fab is delivering ~2.7K/m.

    In 38:13 I think you miss copied a piece. The top merger/stalker is missing a balancer in the leftmost area😁😁. Maybe it might be fixed.

    You rotated the yellow quarter circles and the white quarter circles to each others position. Would it be faster to swap the colour inputs and remove all four rotations?

      I meant to do it the way you suggested, but in reality it doesn't actually matter: you can swap the color or shape inputs: just need to remove the rotators.

    I feel like the procedurally generated endgame shapes are just too random. No elegance or symmetry, it's not fruitful to spend any time optimizing because the demands are so small the machine is done in less time than it took to build and the next shape will be completely different. I lost interest in free play pretty quick. I know allegedly there's more to come, but I may just take a break and check back on this game after some more development has happened. It certainly earned my 4 dollars.

      I think the later shapes can be fun, but it takes too long to get to higher tiers, e.g. level 75 for 4 stack shapes. They are definitely a placeholder. There's a lot more features to come, from what I've read on the discord. I'll definitely feature these things as time goes along.

      Yeah, the shapes should definitely start as 1 layer then add layers to it for each level, and then throwing away previous layers to be replaced with new random ones. That could be an interesting challenge, as you'd have to re-adapt your factory for new layers rather than rebuilding the entire thing from scratch every time. Maybe even have the shapes keep the quarter-shapes in use only changing which quarter shapes are in use every 10 levels? or 20 levels?

      @@KatherineOfSky Yo I now get an FPS of 23 I'm so happy with my new factory it's awesome. Also I made a snail and coloured him too. He has rgb shell, green body, and white eyes.
