I’m in Amarillo Texas and I’m trying to put together a Bourbon/Whiskey Collection. Prices have gone crazy. I can’t spend 50+ for a decent bottle of bourbon. Buffalo Trace is my go to. I discovered it on a Caribbean cruise and loved it. It runs about 28.00 a bottle here. When I can find it. It’s very popular here. I would like to find more in that 30.00 range that is as good as Buffalo Trace
You guys are great! One of my favorite channels to watch. Enjoy the reviews on the less expensive bottles that the regular person can afford. Keep up the great reviews!
Will definitely be on the lookout for this one locally but when the shipping is over 1/2 the price of the bottle ($25) that’s a little tough to swallow
Enjoy watching even though many of the bottles are not, and may never be, available where I live. Considering the very real possibility of a significant price increase or even an outright ban of American products where I live, it is even more unlikely that I will be able to afford or find them. Good thing I have stocked up on what is available.

Hey guys, always a pleasure to watch you. Relaxed and informative. Thanks for not being knuckleheads. As you are probably aware, there are some Bourbon channels that are. Cheers.
Wouild love to see the Whistle Pig Snout review. I am a big fan of the Limestone Farms Private Stock so nice to see your positive remarks about the Bloodline.
whistle pig boss hog 3 and 4 are my favorite whiskies of all time. changed careers and haven't bought a boss hog since. would love to know how they're doing on the more "affordable" products.
highly recommend putting High Bank Distillery on your radar...not only do they do masterful work with MGP's product (blending 3 different recipes and around 7 years old), but they just released their very first bourbon to the public just tonight! (1/21/25) This is distilled and aged in Columbus Ohio and only $44.99 which I think is fantastic. Product is 93 proof, but they're hoping to release a cask strength batch soon. :)
You should do a video of Buffalo Trace, Mash Bill #1 vs Mash Bill #2 with budget, premium, and super premium options for both and see what the results are!
Although the limit isn't as definite as it used to be, $40 is generally my upper limit. I've not seen Limestone Farms around here, but if I do I'll keep y'all's recommendation in mind. 🙂 I *love* that tune during the closing credits. I normally don't care for the piano, but it's perhaps my favorite jazz instrument (thanks to Thelonious Monk, who I don't believe it is tonight 🙂).
Curious as someone who also resides in NWI, how do you buy online and get it shipped to Indiana? From what I’ve seen and tried, Indiana can’t have spirits shipped into the state on the consumer end?…back-assward state laws
It depends on the site that you are buying from, I live in southern Indiana and have bought online several times just depends on where it is coming from. I have purchased from NJ and California and a few others as well.
@slbdrinks I had a rep tell me the same thing about the Old Fitz. He said it'll likely be allocated this year and next, but will come off allocation in 2027 to be a shelfer.
Not around my area. Was gonna order, but shipping was 25 bucks for one bottle and up from there if you order more. Darn shipping. I’ll have to check around more near me. They sell a few others that are over 150
Here’s the issue I feel we are at, there are FAR TOO MANY distillery’s making whiskey today. Even at 40-50 per bottle do we need 200 offerings are people looking to spend 1500 -2000 on a whiskey collection today in this market? I feel sadly over the next 2-3 years many will be closing their doors , just as the craft beer market is deleting right now , many brewery’s closing up, why? You can only make so many IPA’s . People get bored
Please no more IPAs. I worked 6 months in Germany. Wide variety of high quality, inexpensive beer with wide variety of style. Made for decades. No tricked up crafty crap.
IPA was fad to begin with. I tried warning a few local breweries to not focus on them solely, or as a main focus. But, heads are hard... even harder when they see money. Too bad they didn't see how the money works... or how the ipa market was gunna go down like the 2008 housing bubble. Never was or have been an ipa fan. The big deal with it is though, breweries like it because it can be brewed quicker and out of the vat for more beer to be made. Or so that what I have been told. Tasted like crap unless you keep the IBU number under 70. Otherwise, usually all you taste for the next 6 hrs is hops, usually bitter hops.
@ local ? Not a brewery in the USA not doing 4-7 different IPA’s 😃🤷♂️ Barrel aged takes time and money and many don’t want to hassle with good barrel Aged , they are closing due to boredom of offerings , same Will happen with the glutted bourbon /whiskey market . You can only finish so many ways and have so many cask strength . Just give us great 8-12 year old bourbon and double cask and change rick locations
The problem with whisky is people collecting .... some of us drink it. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE exploring a new bottle or distillery As long as there producing decent product I'm all for it
This feels and sounds like an advertisement. I was duped into buying Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked because of the glowing reviews - *Never Again*
Yall do a good job of spotlighting new brands but That’s the wrong bottle that you guys are promoting as a 6-9 year blend. This is the 6 year heritage that just came out… The bottle you’re referring to that has the 6-9 year old barrels is their earlier release Bloodlines Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Y'all who complain about either the price you pay for something is higher than the price Kurt and Trenton pay, or that you can't find something anywhere that they can buy every day and twicet on Sundays, *it's not their fault.* Blame the asinine three tier system that the meddlers in DC mandate. Eliminate that system so that distilleries can sell directly to the stores, and both price and availability will adjust to match demand.
Bourbon junkies already did the whistle pig and there is nothing worse than seeing a bunch of bourbon channels doing the same thing one after the other. It's like being trapped in the groundhogs day movie
@sifuelphotography understood but there are 5 Big ones and they're chasing each others tail. SLB has always been a breath of fresh air. They have done an impeccable job of staying original. They are 2nd to none I don't want to see them grouped in with the others who fight tooth and nail just to pad their numbers. SLB does their thing and if you follow you follow.
What do you think about us reviewing the WhistlePig Snout to Tail 10 Year Bourbon next? Let us know in the comments if you'd like to see it!
I would like to see an entire Whistle Pig lineup review. Starting from the 6 onward to the 18 and with a few special releases
Just got WP 10 this weekend! Fo for it.
The liquor store on 41 and 133rd has a good lineup of Calumet 👍
Absolutely!
@@togatoga91They've got whistle pig 18 by me for $399?? Man too much. They also had the 15 for $129
Love you guys reviewing regular priced whiskey.
As always, LOVE the budget bourbon reviews!
Happy Monday, SLB!
Cant wait to get home later to watch.
Many cheers from Winnipeg, where it feels like -46°C (-50.8°F) 🥃🥃🥃🥃
Didn't know it I live about 35 minutes from Limestone Farms. Will be visiting soon! Thanks SLB

I bought the Penelope Wheat from the last video. It's very good. Thanks for the tip.
I've been enjoying Cooper's Craft 100 Proof. For $35.00 bucks it's a great bourbon for under $40.00 dollars
It used to be $29.99 here in Ohio.
@@whodey59 Not any more...$33.99.
Go buy them up. Brown Forman closed there copperage that might disappear for good. I love it
I see them in KY at $29 to maybe $31. Love Cooper's Craft
Discontinued
Wow. Sounds like some really good value. Hope we get it in my state. Can’t wait to try
I got a bottle of Legent recently. It is becoming a top 5 favorite of mine for 2025. Would love a review!

Elaborate?
Nice short video! The "shelfer" WhistlePig 10 year is very nice but a rare buy for me at the usual $80 price. Please do a review of that Whistle Pig!
I bought Bloodlines before this video and was really surprised and is definitely an everday sipper for me
Wouild love to see the Whistle Pig Snout review. I am a big fan of the Limestone Farms Private Stock so nice to see your positive remarks about the Bloodline.
You’re so right on price, most people will only buy 1 bottle at 200 but a 30-50 dollar bottle will be more of a daily drinker and sell more bottles
Thanks John Madden
whistle pig boss hog 3 and 4 are my favorite whiskies of all time. changed careers and haven't bought a boss hog since. would love to know how they're doing on the more "affordable" products.
Would love to see the whistle pig review. Almost picked it up at my Total Wine but was $92.99 I believe and wasn't sure if it was worth it or not!
Based on their video, you might want to save your $ on this one.
Given the 78/13/9 bill, Beam. Thank you for the review, I haven't even had this expression yet 😂
Great price, looking forward to giving it a try.

How would you compare it to Knob 9yr? Costs around the same.
Are we going to get to see what this year long renovation looks like now? Super curious
Green River Full Proof is on sale here for 40 dollars now, regular $50.
Wear at had green river on sale
I’ve had it. It’s very traditional in terms of flavor. I get it’s more of a value than flavor for myself.
Just got a bottle or Rare Breed for $45. I couldn’t say no for that price

It's sourced Beam, I believe Tom discussed this on another podcast
I'd love to see an episode on Ben Holladay offerings.
Agreed!
I'd like a Calamut review, too. They have quite a few selections around my neck of the woods but I don't see much talk on RUclips.
I’m hoping I can find it on the shelves around here since it’s a 25 dollar shipping charge lol
Just buy enough to get the free shipping! LOL
@ tru. Although my wife thinks I have enough whiskey lol. I’m hoping I can recheck in a month and it’s still available
Calumet.... i have 16 10 and the 15/8 blend that was under 60$ and my favorite of the 3 100% would recomend
One of my favorite bottles is whistle pig 12-year Old world rye. I'm saving up for the 18-year.
Whistlepig 12 year old world rye is the only one I have tried and it’s pretty good
you guys need to try Luca Mariano single barrel bourbon and their single barrel rye
How does it compare at $65.00 ? The price with shipping most of us will have to pay that live further away from KY.
$35-55 price range that sips like $60-80+ are the ones I’ve been looking for
WT Rare Breed

Trent always leaves bottles in his vehicle. Has he ever been pulled over by the police and they see a bunch of Whiskey in the car?
What's wrong with whiskey in the car, legally? I don't think it's so good for the whiskey itself.
