Eyes don't hear. Therefore they would never expect the Eyes of the Emperor to listen in.
Also considering that they have the blood games, where one of them tries to get into the palace to mock assassinate big E in order to test the security of the palace. There is also instances where some of them actually "won" so they are probably incredibly subtle about things.
All you anyone really needs to know about the custodians is that they are *fabulous!*
Seeing the Custodes and the Sisters fighting would have to be wonderous to see

please more lore for the newbies!! I love this series!! been meaning to learn more about 40k cause my friend plays it on the side. but the lore is extremely overwhelming if you don't know where to start. keep it up! great content.

To be fair, before arch is done he's an old old man. So there's plenty of room for a similair series.
Bonus if you do it before 40 facts Gershwan does it (badly). And lets face it, you need a british accent to VO warhammer 40k stuff.

I just came here from Valrak's Telemon dreadnought video. Those pauldrons.
I'm so hyped, I've got a painted+magnetized Telemon that I am absolutely dying to field in my next game. I gave it a real shooty loadout, because even without a proper close combat weapon its natural strength is so high that it can kick holes into tanks and casually punt Space Marines.
Continuing on the topic of Custodes Dreadnoughts, the Telemon just naturally seems like a far better shooter than puncher. The price of the Caestus+Plasma Ejector is obscene, the strength is overkill but the actual damage output kind of lacking and the fire rate on the built-in Plasma Ejector is iffy at best. Meanwhile the shooting options (Arachnus Las-storm Cannon or the Illiastus Accelerator Culverin) reliably pump out tons of shots, are cheaper and safer to use. If you want a Dreadnought for close combat, get a Contemptor Achillus; the price is lower, its small guns can terrorize nearby mobs and its spear more damaging than the Telemon's Caestus. Teleport it next to the most important/expensive enemy unit you can find and enjoy the screams.
Psykomancer now imagine said Custodian dreadnought saying in a monotone voice, ++YOU ARE THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF FABULOUS++ while it punts marines and punches holes in tanks.
In my army I use a Rogue trader era metal Custodian as an HQ: the shirtless model with the spotted pants. He has the warlord trait Radiant Mantle, which lowers the accuracy of all incoming attacks in order to represent the blinding light coming from his oiled abs. He is known in the shop as "Captain Fabulous".

I just recently got to watch a movie 'Event Horizon'. It was funny to think how well that could have fit the 40K universe.

The Companions may be able to stand in the Emperor's presence for up to a century, but they can only tolerate the High Lords of Terra for less than a week. It's no wonder Guilliman had them shot.

I really do love how they kidnap chaos space marines (probably getting the ultramarines to stuff them into boxes) and bring them into the imperial palace only to hunt down said chaos space marines in their stupor and confusion as the where the fuck they are.

I feel like eventually we are gonna see something like every single retired custodies returns to duty and the 10,000 plus however many retired custodies maybe like 50,000 custodies go on a massive crusade and it’s just gonna be like them tearing through anything put against them with ease.
Ever wondered if there are any inquisitors that are Ex custodes, or any space marine chaptermasters who are secretly the same. I remember seeing s9mewhere a chapter master of a chapter that is used to hunting other astartes I believe it was the minotaurs maybe who uses a guardians spear like the custodes do and so maybe a former custode

Great video. One update. More recent lore estalbished that the Custodes never ceased operating across the galaxy.
Were the blood games actually bloody? Did some Custodes actually perish in them?
i image that the Custodes will take every threat very seriously, even if they may look like other Custodes (i mean psykers exist so it could be fake), so yeah some probably die but i can't image many have.
A Custodian dying in a Blood Game is like a fully trained Space Marine dying in training. Given the incredibly long history, it might have happened at some points, but it's probably an incredibly rare freak occurrence.
Spoilers for Watchers of the throne: The Emperor's legion.
One of the protagonists is a captain in the Custodies is actually in the middle of one. In that particular game, they released a captured Traitor Iron Warrior wandering around, which ended with him blowing his head apart.
Seems unlikely.
Custodes are somewhere up there with Navigators and Titan Princeps and in terms of just how important they are.
As self-destructive and disregarding of life as the IoM is I strongly doubt they'd allow such things to happen if at all possible.

Can custodians cannibalize other humans like astartes? can they receive the memories of those they consume?
Yes, because their gene-seed is the same as those used by the Astartes. The only difference is instead of their gene-seed being that of a Primarch, their lineage comes from the Emperor himself.
Custodes don't use geneseed. They're individually augmented using some really esoteric sciences and alchemy with an incredibly low success rate.
No they're a different breed of augmented homo sapien from the adeptus astartes like the thunder warriors or primarchs.

The custodes wiped out the Thunder Warriors. They're stronger than Grey Knights.
Even when they lose they do it successfully! They always mean to do exactly what they do. That way...it's is always the correct thing.

Wonder about their gene-seed and implants. Is that what's meant by genetic alchemy? 'Proto'-Primaris?
Conversion to a Custodes starts in the single-digit age range and doesn't involve gene seed at all.
That's precisely what makes it such a difficult process; It's an entirely manual process that doesn't rely on pre-made organs at all.
They are the space marines to the space marines.

Custodes themselves are more powerful than Space Marines in general, thats why their the Emperors personal guard. I’d say a Custodes could beat a Chapter Master with ease.
Custodies are so strong that they can pose significant challange to Primarchs, even Rawbutt Girlyman would have trouble fighting a Custodes in a 1v1 fight.
majormajorasic Custodes have been slaughtered by assassins before. I'm pretty sure one harloquinn killed ten before dying.
Deus ex machina, Custodes are demigods or cannon fodder depending on how a writer feels, but in lore they're closer to primarchs in battle prowess than Astartes or Primaris.
@The Vynlandstus Custodes are just bigger, stronger and better built than Space Marines, Chapter Masters included, but that doesn't guarantee they would win. Marneus Calgar, Dante, Logan, Helbrecht, Kor'Sarro Khan, and even really experienced non-chapter masters like Captain Lysander would almost certainly win a 1v1 fight against the average Custodes guard, and stand a chance against a Shield Captain. Chapter Masters might not be as strong, but they certainly know how to fight.
