4:47 Now pictured here in that illustration where Duke got Stuart a taste of his own words cleverly, you can see some of the pencil marks that Peter and Gunvor Edwards left when they were putting in the detail features to match the photo Wilbert Awdry wanted them to base the exact imagery off of. Need I say it again, I am just in endless love with the Edwards' style of portraiture. It gives so much so life to what's being seen from the all-seeing eyes of a human being.
2:32 I know the book says that Falcon was in front of the train with Duke and Stuart is at the back of the train, but it looks like Stuart is at the front and the other two are at the back.
TobyandMavisforever Yeah as the other guy said, it can also be judged by the direction the smoke from their funnels are going. As well as the fact that Duke and the others were going backwards from Arlesdale Green to Marthwaite, then returned with Stuart back to Arlesdale facing forwards.
5:04-5:12 That isn't what happened, sir. Duke was the one who broke down, so they had to call Stuart and Falcon to help out. But as Stuart was teasing Duke about his break down, Duke payed him out by pushing the train from behind. (Then again, the way he said it served Stuart right for being cheeky to Duke.)
In regards to Duke facing different directions in Bulldog and You Can't Win: Bulldog was said to have happened "When Sir Handel was new to the line". If I recall correctly, the book Sodor: Reading Between the Lines states that Falcon arrived on the MSR in 1902. Stuart didn't arrive until 1920, So You Can't Win probably didn't occur for at least 20 (maybe even 30!) years after Bulldog, in which time it's entirely likely that Duke was removed from the rails to be repaired for some reason.
You mean "her face"? Because Stuart was a female in the Mid Sodor days. Stuart wasn't a male until he was renamed as Peter Sam for his arrival at the Skarloey Railway in the 1950's.
I love the story and the book, he really perfected his righting in books 21 on, but at 2:06 that picture dose not agree with me, for one thing he at that time is No 1 of the MSR ( Mid Sodor Railway) and two i do not think there is turntables in the MSR but bulldog depicted him as the up ill is front was and down is backwards. and thirdly he did not get No8 before Ivo Hugh was made.
@@bigmacsama Duke was the No. 1 on his old railway (The Mid-Sodor Railway) while Skarloey is the No. 1 on his railway (The Skarloey Railway), in the lore book, its mentioned that Duke is the No. 8 of the Skarloey Railway

Duke shaped up Peter-Sam to be the kind hearted fellow he is.
Correct.

The whistle at 0:13 sounds like Hercules’ whistle from TUGS.

duke was pulling his picnic train backwards as there are no turntables on the MSR. Stuart and falcon then also pulled/pushed the train backwards

Makes sense.
@@TobyandMavisforever Then, how do they change directions at the shed? Look bulldog and this story
Stuart: "Fiddlesticks!"
Exclaimed Stuart, and she vanished in the cloud of steam.
See this is Better than the TVS Because in the TVS Stuart was Directly in front of Duke. So there was No Way the Dad could believe Duke had to help
Gamebuilder2000 you can’t say the adaptation is worse than the source by one nitpick

That's literally the joke. It's not what happened but the man thought that was what happened, so Stuart got karma and humiliation for being cocky.

Oliver Duck We Don't really know what Number he is, that could be The MSR logo
Oliver Duck what no.8 is every one talking about
How is that possible? Skarloey is obviously Engine no. 1 on the Narrow Gauge Railway, what makes Duke the official no. 1?
Idiot
