Hey all, quick note: this video was supposed to go up yesterday, but our on-the-road internet said no to that 😑🐌 A few additional developments have occurred in the past 24 hours: - Certain parts of the East Coast have already seen the weekend snow start to roll through. - Colorado and Utah are now on track to see more snow at the end of next week, as should the Northern US Rockies. - Lake Tahoe is likely to see a stop in storms for a few days, with precipitation picking back up early next week. - Jackson Hole decided to cancel Kings and Queens of Corbet’s due to the low snowpack 😭 - Also, Solitude opened Honeycomb Canyon on Wednesday, not yesterday :) Thanks for understanding and enjoy the video!
Silverlining, the canceling kings and queens allowed me to finally drop Corbetts after 3 seasons of trying cause they opened it to the public instead lol.
@@speedyboi2576 I have heard nothing but great things about Utah skiing. I am glad you like it! I love Monarch. Its a great little mountain with a lot of good tree skiing, rocks, hike-to terrain, etc. PLUS I get free days at a TON of great mountains like A-basin, Loveland, Copper, Purg and lots more. Cheers!
@@JohnnyUtah13 Wow! Such amazing benefits! I have heard really good things about Purgatory, Arapahoe Basin, and copper. I am sure they are all amazing. Cheers to you as well man
Yeah, the backcountry season in West Virginia opened 2 weeks ago and ended yesterday! It's never consistent, but this could be 2 tragically bad winters in a row.
As a season pass pass holder at Killington it’s not been so much an issue of lack of snow but the crazy warming and rain cycles. The rain around Christmas was brutal. The K has done a great job and they continue to blow snow relentlessly. There is plenty of snow in that woods but the snow is hard pack. I am headed out to Colorado in late February and I hope things get better. I am not even checking snow reports. I will wait until the day I leave to decide which skies I bring.
Went to Cypress mountain in Vancouver, BC area today, man, it is basically reset back to early season, most of lifts are shutdown and only few runs barely skiable, so many bare ground exposed on the runs.
I wish that I had scheduled my vacation for last week instead of next week, but at least there will be a couple of snowmaking days before things warm up again.
Do you think PeakRankings will ever rank the Alyeska Ski Resort in Girdwood Alaska?!? I have skied here a couple dozens of times and the views from the mountain are spectacular!
Kind of a glimpse into what climate models tell us winters are likely to increasingly look like in latter decades of the 21st century- big snow dumps, in some places bigger than past norms, but interspersed with longer & warmer warm periods than 20th century precedent, and increasing winter rains at elevations & latitudes previously not rain-prone. (At least that’s how I’ve understood models and studies on climate impacts to skiing regions.)
If North America includes ski hills along either of the coasts or east of Loveland, it is still pretty closer to 0 than 100. The Porkies, a hill known for getting 15 or 20 feet of lake effect, is not spinning lifts.
still some thin cover here and there at solitude, the rest of the wasatch is pretty decent and about average for this time of year.. the boat is where it's at right now.
All new England slopes iced at the peak lifts closing to top on many. Due to global warming in the east you need to hit the slopes asap after each dump nowadays 😢and ski Canada and the west annually to guarantee 💯 satisfaction and get your epic ikon pass value
The snow base has really recovered over the past few weeks! While it has rained this week, it should only be a temporary inconvenience as more snow is on the way. Where are you located?
How is A-basin going? I saw that their base snowpack has improved a lot, but their summit snow depth is still a bit low compared to recent years, do you think the East wall will open this year? Especially given that during a lot of these storms there were strong westerly winds and despite its name the East wall is predominantly west facing.

its quite a shame that Jackson Hole decided to cancel Kings and Queens of Corbet's this year. was really looking forward to seeing those replays
In BC (Whistler etc) it’s about to get horrible again. Huge rain storms rolling through with high temps.
This is probably the worst ski season that the lower mainland of BC has ever seen. Literally only like a week of actual skiable weather this year.
Sucks here in alberta as well. +10°C this weekend, with very little snow expected in the next 2 weeks. 😢
Going to Whistler for a week tomorrow. not looking forward to the rain!
My local hill in northern Alberta still hasn’t opened yet it’s been horrible this year we only have like 4 inches of snow
Im heading there in two weeks. Hopefully gets colder and snowier fast
We really appreciate the mid-season updates, thank you so much!
I love these updates on conditions! Keep up the great work 👍
I have a pass at Monarch. They got like 5 feet in this last cycle. Dancing days are here again!
i skied there when i was little. now i live up here in utah and the resorts are so much better. favorite resort being snowbasin tbh

Woohoo, another conditions video, and mostly good news this time. Thanks for the report!
Huge turnaround from 3 weeks ago. I've had 2 powder days in the last 2 weeks at Stowe.
Meaning on piste powder days. It was unreal.
Never happens. 😊
This is NOT the same for the Vancouver area. Most ski resorts probably gotten worse with the pouring rain on the mountains.
This channel is so awesome! There's nowhere else I've seen with accurate and easy to understand coverage of snow conditions cross-continent like this.
This month has been amazing for Colorado and I’m loving it!
Coming out in a week hoping for snow !! Going to do my snow dance
Caught the rope drop at eagle wind- the cat was getting stuck building the runout. It was very nice.
Snowbird last weekend. Very nice. Mammoth on the first of Feb with 2’ forecast!
Mammoth really is starting to recover nicely, enjoy! Got to appreciate that extra elevation vs most Tahoe area when these warmer storms come through
skied loveland today, All the typical lifts are open and all the runs were live. A very nice day and change of pace!
My local ski resorts in NH went to almost 10 trails to almost all of them! Hoping it stays like this.
It's a little warm this weekend, but not terribly so
I skied AZ Snowbowl Wed this week in between storms. The base is improving with all lifts running and about 2/3 of the runs open.
I love this type of video - very helpful for planning a spur of the moment ski trip!
Cottonwood resorts were packed today, especially up at Brighton. But the snow held out very well!
East coast got a shit ton of snow last week and now its 60 degrees and raining
Par for the course

Just needed the polar vortex to weaken for a little while to get this ski season back on track!
Great that things have finally picked up for the season!
Appreciate the PeakConditions report!
Been in Utah all week. Snowbird Monday was great, Alta was amazing today.
It rained at Killington and Sugarbush today. Conditions at Killington were bad last weekend.
that is an exception from the 40 inches of snow they got in one week a week or two ago and more snow in the past couple days
No they weren't. I had friends there. Powder on off-piste areas all day.
Don't bad mouth Kill Kill. 😊

You should compare the 3 BC interior resorts (sunpeaks, silver star, and Big white white)
Rip to all my fellow east coast riders 😢
Yeah right. That's why it's 50 degrees here in Montana.
The midwest has gotten like 4 feet in the past few weeks, pretty epic
And now it’s raining
Breckenridge was on fire last week, powder days from mon to thur, got my fill!
Well lots of rain here in MA this week, and it went up to 50 degrees. Not that winter we are used to seeing.
We got a foot of snow but we littlerly had the hottest day on temperature in January in the mid Atlantic.
Went to Cypress mountain in Vancouver, BC area today, man, it is basically reset back to early season, most of lifts are shutdown and only few runs barely skiable, so many bare ground exposed on the runs.
Would love to see a review of Crystal Mountain WA, lots of fun technical skiing off northway and chair 6. Thanks for the great video!
Once we get clear footage we will!
Hello, hopefully you can visit Alyeska soon.. Ty.
Went to lake Tahoe yesterday. The snow was shit. It was mostly crusty in the piste.
East coast is wrecked atm, everything is melting unless you're in northern new england.
I love the mic quality please
tell me what set up you used.
Conditions here in Washington aren't too bad, but the next storms look warm and wet... Worrying potential to ruin the snowpack.
I wish that I had scheduled my vacation for last week instead of next week, but at least there will be a couple of snowmaking days before things warm up again.
This is Pete t because I’m on my way to go skiing right now 😮💨
Where i live its supposed to get to 48 degrees celsius in a couple of days. Unfortunately i think the ski season is going to be very topsy turvy.
Ice coast still looking extra bare.
Its rainy and 70 out here on the east coast
Do you think PeakRankings will ever rank the Alyeska Ski Resort in Girdwood Alaska?!? I have skied here a couple dozens of times and the views from the mountain are spectacular!
In Oregon we’ve had so much rain 😭😭😭
Can you guys post a review of Alyeska? It's one of my favorite resorts and would like to see your thoughts.
If we can get some footage, we will!
got around 70 inches in co
* looks at this weekend's forecast for snow levels at 8000ft *
"Andddddd it's gone..."
1:08 Waterville valley review coming?!?!
Keep that snow from sticking to your snow shovels with Shovelwax! Aside from getting more done for less calories, your back will thank you!
Utah skier here we almost always win with conditions/snow. Its just everyone already knows this and that can be an issue.
Just got back home from what should have been a 3 day killington trip. Third day no lifts were running so it was cut short to 2 days
Ouch

Going to PC this week and looking at the forecast all I see are high temps. I wish fate would have had these cold fronts come a bit later.☹
Snow returns on Feb 2nd.
@@je5406 I leave feb 2nd ☹️
30 Jan Whistler is all wet soaked snow now

Washington is doing better as a whole, but the olympic mountains are still at a downright apocalyptic 31% snowpack.
still some thin cover here and there at solitude, the rest of the wasatch is pretty decent and about average for this time of year.. the boat is where it's at right now.
I was in colorado and it was all ice and the day I left they got 18 inches of pow
Oh that sucks
aaaand its gone
Is that a basin at the beginning?
Yep. An early season shot- that’s not what it looks like now!
The Utah’s Cottonwood Canyons resorts ;Alta, Snowbid/ Brighton & Solitude got SLAMMED… many are over 100”, if not more
Living in the Mid Atlantic, I'm not sure if we'll make it through the high temps and rain this season.
Just as long as it makes it through next week so I can get a few days in.
All new England slopes iced at the peak lifts closing to top on many. Due to global warming in the east you need to hit the slopes asap after each dump nowadays 😢and ski Canada and the west annually to guarantee 💯 satisfaction and get your epic ikon pass value
What are you talking about? It’s raining nonstop in New England this week and it’s in the 40s.
The snow base has really recovered over the past few weeks! While it has rained this week, it should only be a temporary inconvenience as more snow is on the way.
Where are you located?
Kind of an exaggeration, its barely been below freezing in many places for a wk now
How is A-basin going? I saw that their base snowpack has improved a lot, but their summit snow depth is still a bit low compared to recent years, do you think the East wall will open this year? Colorado usually sees a ton of late season storms, so we’d bet it will!
East wall will open this year. I know it doesn't seem like it now, but Arapahoe Basin ski patrol is very good at getting things open.
@@LongsYt Well that's fantastic news, I'm coming to A-basin around March 15 for two weeks, whole reason I booked the trip was to ski the East wall
@Maximilian_1 by mid-March Arapahoe Basin is really good. You should have lots of snow by then.
you should review arizona resorts! i know they're shitty but iwanna know how shitty!

Day 5 of asking for a review on mission ridge
There is no southern Montana. There is only eastern and western Montana.
Well you've gotta post something to promote the like & subscribe lifestyle, even if the title is totally incorrect.

Midwest is getting dumped on lately
Not my part of the Midwest. We’re in the 30’s and probably on track for the worst winter in history
Yeah minnesota has had a Terrible winter.
Aaaaaaand its over 😂
It didn’t last😂
That “wtf is going on in North America” aged like shit lol. This legit the best season most ski resorts have seen, especially on the east
Let’s hope it stays that way!
