There is a CD recording of all the entire tutors concert, and of course, Brian's fabulous band KAN also recorded this set on their album, Sleeper. I would highly recommend it, it's a class album!
Well, it's fairly straightforward, and the B-part has that nice walk-up from the G-A-Bm thing going. Wish we could play it at Swannanoa as well! Unfortunately, I won't actually be going either, as I've just moved back to Dallas for various reasons, and had to cut out a lot of things this year... I'm hoping to catch Lunasa in the states this Fall, though, or perhaps head out to the KVMR with some folks here.
I have! Also, listened to KAN's version on their new album several times. I'd loaned it to Julian for awhile, so I'm sure he probably knows them too, ha! Would be awesome!
Gorgeous. Thanks for posting, Joseph! I think I have watched it a dozen times already. You and Me and Julian should learn these! Have you seen the full Finnegan Band arrangement of this set?
Do you have Ed's chord progressions down? I know you could you can cover the guitar part if any one can! Wish we could play it at Swannanoa this year but I can't make it, sadly. Next time!
I wouldn't suggest listening to much soprano whistle music if you are concerned with high pitch notes. Try the low-octave whistles if you like the timbre or style of music
Holy hyperbole! The sound is not particularly shrill. Yes, it's high, but also very pure. In any case, there's plenty of tunes Brian plays on low F and D whistles.
This performance reminds me that I'm alive, and there IS beauty in the world.
It's the year 2020. The world has gone crazy, but this music brings you back to the ground.

I can't believe how long I've been listening to this guy, and yet he never ceases to amaze me.

Can't even count the number of times I've watched this...
Same … at least 67 of the views are from me 😍
I’m back for more…
That fill he does at 1:34 is crazy spot on.
Have watched this over and over...
see him feathering the bottom hole of the whistle with his right pinkie?!! he's a true master
This is one of the best things I've ever heard… in my life…. the vibe and soul of this is so amazing….
Excellent stuff two pure class musicians, love them thank you, Dublin Deirdre xx
The Celtic song starting at 1:55 is SUPERB! BIG LIKE from Romania!
This is Real Music. So much talent and dedication. Many greetings from Germany.
I love this slip jig 😊
Ahhh this is so gorgeous!! I just got an Eb whistle too🥳
Ed plays in DADGAD tuning, so just tune down the E, b and e strings a step, and then capo 1 for Eb.
Beautiful set, fantastic whistle and guitar, thanks for sharing =D
whooooa that first tune is amazing! You guys sound killer
Absolutely incredible
@kevinmeehan71
No, the second one. The set consists of Slide From Grace (written by John McSherry) / The Queen of Rangoon (written by Brian Finnegan)

Amazing set. Love to see that Brian, like me, does not like to change shirts too often. See his Bath performance ...

The Queen of Rangoon is the name
The Queen of Rangoon is the name of the whole piece? Or maybe just the front or back end of it? Thanks!

It does, I just couldn't remember what it was called, and hadn't recorded that part yet... I'll have to check my iPod.

Tatiana Raevsky
Colin Goldie

A Goldie! Sounds and costs 10x a shaw 😂

@DazIOM1140
Nah, it's an Eb.
3:36
know that ....commmercial
@abraxas123 is that the first one?
What kind of tin whistle did he used?
Brian plays Goldie whistles. This one's in Eb.
Ed Boyd it is. Why Ed Burwell?
@Melvorgazh: The Burwell Bash is where this video was taken. This is, of course Ed Boyd.
Ok, did not know that place. Where is it?
Sláinte!
+Melvorgazh England
What key is his whistle in?
Eflat
Is this a C whistle??
Eb
@@JosephChordmichael thank you Joseph
Is it a 'D" whistle he is playing?
I started dictating this piece so I could attempt it on my whistle, and it seems to be in the key of E-flat rather than D.
What key is this whistle in?
Eb
boo! why would anyone do such a thing?
@@saoirsecameron I thought it sounded wonderful! But you can always transpose to D, if you need to.
@@saoirsecameron Brian plays his Eb a lot. I think it has a wonderful sound.
anybody else spot the rat outside at 0:12 ?
Irish ....u win
The microphone stand obstructing Brian is very annoying.
Yeah! ....and that bush in the background is SO frustrating.
Too hight sound ! Insupportable. I can't heard this a long time or i will be deaf
