I just love your beefed up roadbuilders in BC.. Here in the UK we'll have a small number of fortified machines but simply can't compete with your mountainous forests. I did run an FH220 and dash 1 PC210 a while back, just for a short time, and loved them, felt as if they'd go on for ever if repaid with basic maintenance, and being mostly mechanical even a modest diy mechanic such as I need not normally have a problem that couldn't be sorted out to keep going. Not sure sure one can say that of the more modern kit, good tho they are to operate
many hours of service on the ole girl and put to rest unlike the junk equipment my boss gets sad when the equipment being cut up for scrap is in better shape than the log loader he tries to get the work out of when a new machine would struggle to keep up stay safe get log's
Wajax modified and sold lots of those 300s and 400s I remember when those babies were brand new, Wajax grey and white service trucks running around, those were the days 20 years ago.
They are excavators with extra guarding and other extras meant for constructing logging road. These days they are often built from purpose built forestry machines IE: Cat 568 or Link Belt 5040.
@@madjack1748 you got that right. Those ex series machines are soo much more powerful then the newer zaxis ones. We got a ex160lc and a zaxis160lc and that new 160 can't even budge a these transformer pads at this job we were doing but the old ex160 with 25000 hours can move it. Don't get me wrong. It won't lift it more than 6" but it's just enough to get it over the conduit. Lol
@@madjack1748 it's crazy how much the 160 sized machines go for. You can get something like a 300 of the same year for not a whole lot more because of the way you gotta move them.
Looks like someone really disrespected the bum on that shovel. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not as into the new stuff, but certainly surrounded in it.

Seems like everyone has an old Hitachi sitting around somewhere.
True BC roadbuilder with a non-progressive link thumb.
I'd like to see that Deere 690 in the background
May sound stupid but why do they call them road bilder

I'd run that one at a drop of a hat! Good one, Pal! Thanks.
For Sale? ?
I would take her home!
great video
Nice machine
Nice!
Pretty wore out looking I'd say
She looks beat, but always remember, a beat up old 30 ton excavator makes the same amount of money as a brand new one.

@@madjack1748 I'd be curious to see what they would sell that 300 for.
If it runs, probably anywhere from 10-30k depending on how well it it's been maintained and what kinda work it needs. That's just a ballpark though.
