Behringer is making its mark in Music History in two ways. First, by bringing back Legacy equipment from the past and updating them to today's standards. And, second, making them affordable for everyone. Notice how the other manufactures are starting to follow Behringer's lead by bringing back their equipment and making them affordable. This is one of the BEST events happening in the Synth industry.
Honestly, this is exactly what Berhinger needs to be releasing. Long dead, amazing old gear that isn’t in competition with existing brands legacies. I will buy this, thank you. Awaiting the PPG!!
It's a very nostalgic sound. Also, Phaser is comfortable. I admired SOLINA, and 50 years ago I made strings similar to SOLINA using 3 BBD elements (1024 stages), an operational amplifier, a 49-key keyboard, and 10 printed circuit boards. I had a hard time with the 3-phase chorus part of BBD. I phase-modulated it with two types of LFOs (about 0.2Hz and 5-7Hz), but the BBD produced a huge noise, so I needed a noise gate. Since I made it myself, I was able to create phase circuits in 120° increments, and there were no patents involved. After that, I connected KORG's Digital Chorus SDD-3300 to KORG's PolySix to obtain a 3-phase chorus tone. Currently, I'm using Arturia's Solina V2 software synthesizer on Cubase 13.
As a Behringer VC340 Vocoder owner, I can safely say that certain sounds are always going to sound better in analog hardware. I have several Solina plugins (virtual and sampled), and this sounds amazing. Needless to say, I want one!
I bought Virtual String Machine back in the day. I used to think it sounded amazing until I’d play my ARP Omni. Plug-ins are great but they just don’t have that hardware magic. Love my VC340 and will be buying the Solina as soon as it’s released!
Really exciting development - I think Behringer has hit on a really big market in making classic synths which go for big bucks on s/h market (if you can get them at all) affordable and accessible. There will always be something magical about the analogue sounds- that imperfection, and tactile experience is very difficult to emulate digitally!
I am 27. Have wanted a Solina for like 10 years. I am so ready for this. I don't have like any room in my music room at this point but I will make room for the Solina! lol!
We added this based on Customer feedback early on in SOLINA's design stage. There is a reason why we announce the development of products as early as we do! So our Customers truly get a product designed around their genuine demands. When we say "We Hear You", we really mean it! :-) - Dan
Right sound, right size, right effects and all in one. This will be great for me as part of my mobile set up as if you are an owner of one of the vintage string machines you won't want to take it out of the studio too much for gigs or studio sessions so this is an ideal alternative. Thank you Behringer
I have the VC340. With that said, I have no doubt in my mind the Solina will deliver. It sounds like they nailed the orignal tone in the demo. I definitely want one!!!!
This sounds fantastic! I owned a few string synths during the 90s, including the ARP. I regrettably sold them around 15 years ago, so I'm really looking forward to this release.
oh yeah, buyin this for sure, thank you so much for listening to us about module versions of these upcoming releases, I have too many keyboards as it is haha
I'm looking forward to adding this to my collection, but at this point it feels like all the new synths Behringer has announced in the last year will never hit the shelves :(
i feel the same, i used to follow their fb page, waiting for these last 2-3 years announcements to come out, and nothing, i simply abandoned their page.. i wish they stopped teasing and make announcements on actual releases
@@ScottPigman Oh my. The pain waiting for my 2600 was real! The only synth I was more anxious for was the original Hydrasynth keyboard. I still play with that one constantly.
I'm incredibly happy that you guys threw a quick picture of Keane in the mix of people who used this instrument. Tim Rice-Oxley should be one of the individuals credited for making old analog synthesizers popular again in music of the last 20 years. I think it's because of how much he loved the band AIR, but his masterful use of the Solina in "Under the Iron Sea" was jaw-dropping. Just listen to the chorus in "Atlantic". Tim is who inspired me to find a real ARP String Ensemble. More importantly, though, his use of synthesizers in general is what got me into collecting them myself. Good job to whoever at Behringer did their Solina homework..
Big thanks Uli and the Behringer team for all effort you put into designs aswell affordability for normal musicians on all levels, =) Thanks again, Love cheers
honestly this is a beast! look this tiny size also. I'm a long time drummer but over 25 years you start playing other stuff. built up a mini studio. What i love doing now is taking my usb midi keyboard from my PC and hooking it up into boxes like this and jam for real again instead of all on the PC. Im excited for the Edge also!
I have been waiting for this for a year since the Engineer's update, the phaser is a great addition to this! I love the Solina and have used a VST version of it for a while, but I would love to get my hands on one of these! It sounds incredible Behringer!! 😄
I have an original Eminent Solina, but this may well be replacing it! The addition of MIDI is a gamechanger, the Small Stone is brilliant and if it has a quieter audio out then that's a big bonus too! Between the VC340 and this, I think I'll be strung up for sure...
I've been playing an old Intercontinental organ (mid 70s) from new, and besides drawbars for both manuals it also has a string section based of that same venerable Solina!! It uses sliders to mix these sounds with the organ, which sounds absolutely amazing through a Leslie.... I'd absolutely love this new Behringer Solina module in my studio, I'll definitely keep an eye out for when it becomes available!! 👍😎🙏
didn't know Japan used the Solina but it makes sense. i can hear it on life in tokyo and quiet life. also sounds like the main keyboard used by Jean-Michele Jarre on Equinox. cant wait to get one.
I have a Solina. It's a B313 electric organ, but it is a solina 🙂 The Rithmix 110 drum machine is the coolest feature on it. And the spring reverb is nice.
I was able to hold off on buying the virtual string machine! Get this sucker out for use in the recording club! Good things do come to those who wait...and wait ....and....
Those caps are for the individual note decay. Every key on the SSE (Solina String Ensemble) has a dedicated simple VCA controlled by a dedicated decay circuit. The Crescendo (attack) is shared by all voices. (I’m currently in the process of modifying my SSE with an individual attack circuit per voice)
As a former Solina owner, I am ready for this!!
As a current Solina owner, I am also ready for this!! Bring it on!!
@@buscrates412 as someone that has watched someone buy a Solina in the 90's, I'm on top of this!
You know the Behringer version will go toe to toe with original ..
I'm looking forward to hearing your words on it when you get one
as a fan of erotic horror European films from the 70s I say, bring it on!
As a former model B owner who sold it for like $50 in the late 80's I'm happy to pay 7 times that amount.
RIP Dan, the Solina was my very first Behringer synth that I bought after watching this review.
R.i.p. Dan... I really enjoyed your reviews...😢

its the 80's synth influx thats shaped so much of post punk and edm happening all over again and building a new generation of synth nerds, its awesome

Awaiting the PPG!!
did you see this? ruclips.net/video/gOm9g7QjbMQ/видео.html
Exactly, like the Cat , the Wasp, and the Pro One, all old classics that are no longer available. I can't wait for the VCS3.
Yes, I love my Cat and Wasp, but I wish they would have tweaked them a bit so they didn’t work on limited octaves
Ppg could only be emulated, there was an incredible amount of stuff in those things and they weren’t very reliable
Wolfgang Palm might not be keen on a Behringer PPG.
I can't believe you passed away
Thank you for all what you did
Good luck where you've gone
Rest in Peace 🕊️
The sound of 70's Italian horror and giallo movies brought back to life, can't wait.
It's a very nostalgic sound. Also, Phaser is comfortable.

RIP DAN CLARKE! Thank you for starting my synth journey! :')
I need this! The sound immediately reminded me of the opening music to A Clockwork Orange.
RIP Dan Clarke
As a Pink Floyd fan, this video sent chills down my spine.
video released on Jean-Michel Jarre's birthday. nice touch.
This is the one I've been waiting for :)
Let's hope the wait will be over soon :) Anyone have some spare semiconductors lying around?
Whole heartedly agree!!

Yeah plug ins not always give you what you’re looking for, me too I have a VC340 😀

I didn't see this yesterday. So I woke up to a notification earlier about this on Facebook and damn! Thanks for the Birthday gift of my dreams!
I am 27. Have wanted a Solina for like 10 years. I am so ready for this. I don't have like any room in my music room at this point but I will make room for the Solina! lol!
Makes me smile. These sounds have a soul. Big thumbs up
You’ve really raised the bar with this one! It’s a vintage meets modern beauty.
Yes, yes, YYYYYEEEESSSSS!!!! All my Joy Division and early Cure and New Order dreams never end!
The phaser is a nice touch!

This is one of Behringer's greatest
I had the original in 82 with my Band. Amazing sound back then. I definitely want one of these.
Right sound, right size, right effects and all in one. This will be great for me as part of my mobile set up as if you are an owner of one of the vintage string machines you won't want to take it out of the studio too much for gigs or studio sessions so this is an ideal alternative. I own an actual Solina and this thing sounds perfect to the original!!!!!!
Thank you for showing Japan there, at 0:55
Excited to get my hands on one soon! My favourite sound is the Solina through a phaser - and you guys have made it! Well done!
And it sounds even more 70s it you use to the two most famous phaser units from the 70s. The Mu-Tron phasers and Eventide's Instant Phaser.
I have the VC340. With that said, I have no doubt in my mind the Solina will deliver. It sounds like they nailed the orignal tone in the demo. I definitely want one!!!!
Between this beauty ,the Model 15 and the Pro 800 im going to be very skint !!
This sounds fantastic! I owned a few string synths during the 90s, including the ARP. I regrettably sold them around 15 years ago, so I'm really looking forward to this release.
I had the original in 83. Will be getting this
Built in the MPC ! and it sounds superb
oh yeah, buyin this for sure, thank you so much for listening to us about module versions of these upcoming releases, I have too many keyboards as it is haha
FINALLY!!! I want one so bad!!! I always use plugin versions of the solina and wanted a real one for so long! finally i can afford it
How much is it?
I'm looking forward to adding this to my collection, but at this point it feels like all the new synths Behringer has announced in the last year will never hit the shelves :(
People used to feel that way about the RD-9, 2600, MonoPoly…
Same. Disappointed to have to go through the cycle of excitement to Disappointed letdown
So you can't wait!
i feel the same, i used to follow their fb page, waiting for these last 2-3 years announcements to come out, and nothing, i simply abandoned their page.. i wish they stopped teasing and make announcements on actual releases

Estoy muy contento de saber que mis tataranietos podrán contar con este dispositivo.
Yeeeessss , I have been hanging out for this , can't wait to go grab one
Oh my gosh. You made it a module. YES!!!
Already love the VC340. Can't wait to try this.
Magnificent sounding!
You lovely people at Behringer delivered... again!
Can't wait to get one!!!
"Delivered" is the operative word.
Behringer is notorious for hyping synths they never release.
I'm sure this one will fall under that category.
When you said “Small Stone” I shouted out OMG you are going to turn us all into JMJ !!! Fair play, this looks tasty
Sounds fantastic.
Behringer just put a smile on my face 😊. Nice job.
Thank you Behringer x
Wow great product. Love what Behringer is up to these days. Way to revive a classic.
Recapping this in the far future seems like fun, but seriously very nice synth.
Im ready!!!! Wow!! I hope this comes into fruition!
Big thanks Uli and the Behringer team for all effort you put into designs aswell affordability for normal musicians on all levels, =) Thanks again, Love cheers

I'm so happy that a new generation will be able to have this rather than plugs and samples. Have fun with this. We did!
Love,
your dad & grandaddy 😉
I have been waiting for this for a year since the Engineer's update, the phaser is a great addition to this! I love the Solina and have used a VST version of it for a while, but I would love to get my hands on one of these! It sounds incredible Behringer!! 😄
This sounds really lush and beautiful. The real deal!
Oh man, what a great release! Thank you Behringer!
Wow.... sounds like heaven 😊
I have an original Eminent Solina, but this may well be replacing it! The addition of MIDI is a gamechanger, the Small Stone is brilliant and if it has a quieter audio out then that's a big bonus too! Between the VC340 and this, I think I'll be strung up for sure...
Me too have the original eminent solina. This is pretty good 🎶
Back in the day, I used the Solina on just about everything. This sounds amazing, the price is right, and I have the rack space. Bring it on!
It's about time!!!!!
Sounds gorgeous
Sounds great! 👍
I love that you guys are bringing back classic synths!!!!
Ok Behringer, now I'm sold
'...you CAN run external audio through...'. Beautiful!
Man this sounds amazing - great job guys. Just that small stone alone sounds worth the asking price.
I used to have an Arp Quartet 30 years ago. I’ve always loved those warm string/organ sounds.
didn't know Japan used the Solina but it makes sense. i can hear it on life in tokyo and quiet life. also sounds like the main keyboard used by Jean-Michele Jarre on Equinox. cant wait to get one.
Exactly. Jean-Michell Jarre used it on Equinox. I always wondered which instrument he used for that sound. Now I know. Might get it when available.
i love you guys
Could not be more exited!!!
Pretty sick!
Vince Clarke will be aiming for this real soon... for his synth collection.
Sounds good! The built-in phaser with external input really is a cool and interesting addition.
Looking forward to more Behringer models hitting the shops.
I’ve been using a solina vst up until now and have been waiting a long time for this! Can’t wait to get one!!
Hi, any idea on the price and when it will be released? thanks.
Might have to pick one of these up. Good work Behringer!
Sounds bloody amazing. It's going to be fun to see if civilization doesn't collapse before the needed components can be sourced to produce this thing!
Feels that way! Yikes.
This is my favorite video from you guys.
What of the Pro-800??……… it’s been YEARS!
We all want an update.
I'm sure Behringer also wants to know. You should check the news of the world......especially about China
Oh hell yes. That sounds phenomenal. It’s everything I’d want from a Solina!! x
Congratulations!! This sounds so awesome, I was smiling like an idiot during the JMJ sounds.
I have a Solina. It's a B313 electric organ, but it is a solina 🙂 The Rithmix 110 drum machine is the coolest feature on it. And the spring reverb is nice.
Can hardly wait for this!
Let's see the progress made on the UB-XA!
Going to need a another 42U 2post rack for all my Behringer gear alone...... Luv it....
This has me SOOOOO STOKED!!🤟🤟🤟
Oh yessss! It's the '70s again!
Damn this sounds super close to the real thing, with the added advantage of it not being massive and weighing a ton!
can't wait! i'm sure it's the same for many of us. i'd definately by the keyboard version though, or atleast have full size keys on a controller.
I was able to hold off on buying the virtual string machine! Get this sucker out for use in the recording club! Good things do come to those who wait...and wait ....and....
Wait...What happened to Adam?
Yes, and now I want one...!
Looking forward to adding this to my toolbox.
Added to my wish list.
Sounds so dreamy. Very nice.
Yes, Yes, Yes, Thank Youuuuuuuuu 👍💝
Niiiice!! I love the sound of the solina. Also, look at all those capacitors! Damn!
Wow... 5-pin and USB midi input on top of external audio input... 😮
When the sounds started around 1:20 I immediately thought of pink Floyd's Meddle mixed with Rob Hood. Sounds heavy and dark, and unique.
man can't wait !! this will be DAY ONE owner
Finally I can play those classic Gary Numan songs and get that 100% right sound. Oooooh I'm so excited!
down in the park...
On that topic, I just got a dead-on recreation of the Vox Humana lead sound (as in Cars) using the Behringer Model D and a Lexicon reverb! So lovely!
@@julioerit ooooh lovely!
