I remember playing about half of these in arcades when I was much younger and some of the others I recognize from seeing videos about them on the internet. A few of them are completely new to me, like Beast Busters, Search and Rescue, Guwange, Zombie Revenge, and Tecmo Knight, so thanks for introducing me to them. Some of these are true classics worth a glance for more than just the violence, such as Samurai Shodown V, Splatterhouse, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Metal Slug 3, and House of the Dead 2. That doesn't necessarily mean the others are stinkers, some are worth some silly fun from time to time. My younger self still appreciates the urination fatality in Primal Rage and the Robocop quoting in Smash TV "I'd buy that for a dollar!"

As much the Samurai Spirits Zero/Shodown V is included, the SPECIAL revision were the most gory in the franchise (slashed corpses, decapitated heads and limbs, even in child characters like Shizumaru and Rimururu). Then, they had to release two revisions: Rev. B has the gore removed but caused many glitches, Rev. C is less brutal, and glitches were fixed. Meanwhile, SamSho V Perfect is based on Rev. C.
Yeah, Chiller is just gratuitous violence. One of the levels makes it seem like it was supposed to be a haunted house themed shooting gallery with silly music playing and typical movie monsters running around, but at some point the just leaned hard into the gore.

God when I was a kid the C64 version of SmashTV was always in the disk drive. A really good port of the arcade game.
