  • Thanksgiving is a time most people spend with family and loved ones, reflecting on what they're most grateful for. For someone like Bethany Hofmann of the Army West Point women's lacrosse team, family has a totally different meaning. After a life-altering trip this past summer what she is most thankful for shifted. At birth, Hofmann was given up by her biological mother from a small town in Romania, with the hopes of giving her a better life. At seven months old she was adopted and brought to the United States never knowing where she truly came from. Even without that knowledge, Hofmann's sense of family never wavered and finally came full circle after she made an eye-opening trip back to where it all began.
