This episode has one of my dad's favorite lines/parts where The 3 Stooges draw names out of a hat to determine who marries who. "I got Corabelle.". "I got Dorabelle.". "I got Stetson.".
Guys, gotta severely disagree on this one. While not a plot driven masterpiece like CASH AND CARRY, I think there's a lot of great slapstick in this one. Anytime the boys and tools go together, you get good results. My favorite bit is Moe chasing Larry around after Larry gets a few shots in (!), only to have them constantly mess up Curly's concrete. Great Curly reactions in that part. The blonde from the three wives was Ted Healy's sister Marcia and I will agree with you guys about the end.
Is there a scene cut from this film? I seem to remember seeing Curly burn up the plans, which Moe refers to, but the scene is not here. Was that cut from the short? Does anybody remember seeing Curly burn up the blueprints? Any input would be appreciated!
"How are you going to get that much better than 'Cash and Carry'?" As me and someone else said in the comments for the Cash and Carry review, a "Gem of a Jam"(1943) *at least* equals "Cash and Carry". I feel the same way about it that you two feel about Cash and Carry: a flat-out masterpiece that I would like to give 4s in all categories and is a great film from the era, not just a great Stooge film.
hey you guys gonna do more reviews soon. its great to listen to the reviews being a stooges fan all my life I'd love to hear more of what you guys think....
I have to disagree with the review that you guys gave this short. There's nothing average about "The Sitter Downers", in my opinion. This short is among their best! My favorite line is delivered by Moe, when he says to Larry, "Forget what I said about that dollar." You guys seem to know your Stooges, but I respectfully disagree with you on this one. Thanks for your posts and your reviews! I am always interested in other people's comments about the Stooges.

Totally disagree. This episode was hilarious, and Curly at his best. Best scene is when he gets stuck in the cement.

I thought this episode was alright, personally.

Yes, I remember seeing Curly burn up the blueprints; I have seen the whole episode many times.

This is my favorite Stooge flick. If you are looking for plot and character development you should probably look elsewhere.

So... there's only 27 films reviewed -- what about the other 163 shorts? And the features? And the Ted Healy stuff?
