I don't see how they couldn't. This has to be such an incredibly moving experience! If it moves non-believing viewers to turn to God, surely it turns non-believing actors/actresses taking part in it!
I feel in the days when Jesus walked here on earth and passed by these men hanging on their crosses.. he also knew if any of them were saints,he knew that one day he himself would have to face the same torture and punishment ,he knew the degree of how he was going to be tortured was going to be far more than any man.I wonder how many of us could hold it together knowing ahead of time what extent of torture we would face,how many of us would run and hide?..probably no one would surrender peacefully but Jesus did.He knew what was going to happen to him as he cried tears of blood or beads of sweat because he prayed so hard for that bitter cup to be taken from him!..What a wonderful Savior we have to love us all so much,he endured every painful slap,kick,punch,every lash of the cat of nine tails..every piece of hair yanked out of his beard,every mean hateful word spoken to him,every thorn pushed down in his brow,every step he took carrying that cross up that hill,every spike and nail driven into his flesh..every breath he took that caused him pain to inhale and exhale..Yes,he endured to the end and if that isn't enough for us to follow him,I don't know..it baffles me how anyone cannot try to serve Jesus..I love my Lord and I know I'm not perfect but I'm forgiven..Praise be to the King of King's,Lord of Lord's,the Alpha and Omega,the First and the Last!!
Amen, beautifully said. He knew from the beginning of his preaching what his fate would eventually be but he accepted it for the sake of all of mankind.
But the cup that Jesus mentioned in his prayer was not the torture... He prayed to take away a particular moment on the cross. Jesus knew that he and his father should separate for a short period of time during the crucufication as Jesus willingly took the place of sinners... Jesus was not afraid of the tortures... If he were afraid he would not dare to come to earth... The thing haunted Jesus was this moment of separation from his father..
It just occurred to me that as a fan of film- making I know it is extremely rare to have a multi-season series that has the same person directing every episode. In fact, it is so rare that I'm not sure it has ever been done. In any case, Dallas has an amazing set of gifts that make him the ideal person to take on this challenge and I am proud to do my part to help him achieve his goals of making Jesus accessible to a whole new audience. Whew seeing Jonathon (Jesus) walking by the crucifixions, that got me and I thought 💭 I wonder what he did when he walked by those crucifixions while he was on earth. Did he stop and pray for them? Did he cry? Did he say, no, no this is all wrong! Do not kill. Or did he go off to a quiet place and pray for them? I don’t know but I really wonder. This show is so good that it makes me think so much deeper about Jesus.

I love this perspective. While Jesus is God, he was human as well, he had human emotions, the Bible mentions that. This perspective brings that reality home. Gives us hope that because he resides in us we too can get through these tests.

I think that Jesus knew and saw suffering of many innocent people, who suffered innicently from the beginning of so called civilized human kind till present times and that's why accepted His fate- suffering, death by crucifixion, just did it for all innocent,suffering people as their brother
Jesus' first time seeing an actual crucifixion was when he was 11 or 12 yrs. old and they went to Passover to celebrate. That is the time that he got "lost"' but Joseph and Mary found him in the temple preaching to the elders.

I think it is the personal level. We can view Him as a man, friend, son, savior of man.
Passion was good though. It showed us the brutal torture Jesus went through that other films didn't want to show.
The passion of the Christ it’s in its own lane. No comparison. The Passion showed the world how horrible His life was.

Whew seeing Jonathon (Jesus) walking by the crucifixions, that got me and I thought 💭 I wonder what he did when he walked by those crucifixions while he was on earth. Did he stop and pray for them? Did he cry? Did he say, no, no this is all wrong! Do not kill. Or did he go off to a quiet place and pray for them? I don’t know but I really wonder. This show is so good that it makes me think so much deeper about Jesus.

When I see that scene (Jesus facing the crosses) I think I'm gonna cry...
I already cried at that behind the scenes shot as well, and I haven't seen the final edit.
Just wait until we see Jesus ON a cross in a future season... This show will be very painful to watch, because of just how good it is!

I love this perspective. While Jesus is God, he was human as well, he had human emotions, the Bible mentions that. This perspective brings that reality home. Gives us hope that because he resides in us we too can get through these tests.

I think that Jesus knew and saw suffering of many innocent people, who suffered innicently from the beginning of so called civilized human kind till present times and that's why accepted His fate- suffering, death by crucifixion, just did it for all innocent,suffering people as their brother
Jesus' first time seeing an actual crucifixion was when he was 11 or 12 yrs. old and they went to Passover to celebrate. That is the time that he got "lost"' but Joseph and Mary found him in the temple preaching to the elders.
