    What curriculum would you suggest for building better communication and fixing attitudes for 8 and 9 year old? My 8 year old especially fights me on most things...I don't know how we're going to make it through homeschooling. But God called me to do it so I'm going to listen no matter what.

      Not Consumed Ministries has a bible study that is excellent called “Fruit of the Tongue.” And also just encouraging and keeping an open line communication is super important too. 💜

      Just going to chime in but you should follow Mystie Winkler. She’s a Christian classical mom who helps moms get organized with homemaking and homeschool. She talks a lot about logistics and one of those things is when you have a power struggle with your child. Typically there is always a root cause. Sometimes kids don’t know their place or it could be as small as needing a guideline or something they are feeling and just projecting. Heart to hearts are always good and I frequently like to check in with my kids so that they know our purpose in protected hours of schooling and what our family culture is working towards. But habit of attention, obedience which to me is founded through learning fruit of the spirit self control. So I’d start there and I’d also learn about Charlotte mason habit training and her principles. They can give good perspective. I use “Laying down the rails” as a devotional for myself.

      It still includes store of the world. It’s way more in depth and has a wonderful visual text.

    What art study are you using?! I may have missed you saying that!

    • @PenniesAndSalt
      @PenniesAndSalt  2 года назад +1

      Our Art and Music is from Gentle and Classical press. It’s specifically from my younger daughter’s Primer. It’s very simple and exploratory and I like that. It’s easy to come up with ways to enhance it as well.
