Just to clarify, Gorefield wasn't started by LumpyTouch, it was William Burke. LumpyTouch just made pixel art versions of Burke's art and that's what got it mainstream.

@@jameswashere187 it’s a mix of both. Cronenberg’s body horror is displayed in the visage of the monsters while the impossibility of the monsters is lovecraftian.

John is mentally destroyed when garfield attacks him, and so garfield takes over his mind, forcing john to take care of the eldrich horror his beloved cat has become.)

Yeah, this was a pretty cool, cute little game, but it was about twice as long as it needed to be and it could've leaned more heavily on its inspiration instead of trending into the generic.

I mean when karens exist, this is the average life of a deliverie person.
For such a silly idea, this worked pretty well. The sprites are all great, nice GameBoy vibe to it. I don't think that final boss fight was necessary though, that looked more tedious than fun. At minimum, it didn't need three phases to it. Still, you can tell the developer put work into this.

i agree with manly when he said the other creatures aren't as cool/scary as the first one, that was a complaint i saw a lot on another letsplay of this too
the other enemies just don't follow the same gorefield design theme (neither does the 'plot') and that hurts the game a bit considering 'gorefield' is in the title
Its inspired from the series. So it just means they took ideas from it not that its supposed to be it.

This game have a lot of backtracking. It's quite annoying. But, it's horror game alright.
It's one of lumpy's older games, you should seriously check out his newer ones if this one even interest you in the slightest.
There's major graphic and gameplay improvements.

@@Gho00st this was one of the first few projects he has worked on I'm sure. He has videos of it all over his channel show casing progress. He may have sold it to them or published under them. I don't know how that sort of thing works, I just know this video game was when I first discovered his channel and started to follow him on it.

I seen some of lumpy touch's "Gorefield" I like that creepy horror. He does amazing sprite work. Glad it inspired someone to make a game out of it.
Really liked how whiskers looked like. Though I wish the other monsters were detailed as much as it. Although I really love the sprite work. Not much of a fan of certain parts where the back tracking was a lot. It could have done without it. But I can really see this being a Gameboy game I'd play ~

Oh my god I've seen the artwork of Lumpy... I can't believe someone made an actual video game based on his creepy ass idea. The absolute mad lad. I think I was more terrified by your reckless play sometimes than the actual game.
The section with the game kind of tricking you into thinking you need to turn the lights on was fantastic, honestly. What a way to play with player expectations yet also terribly annoying. I have never been more terrified of a pig in my entire life than right now.
I agree with you a lot on the pig section; the backtracking in that area looks absolutely terrible, like, it is almost shocking how boring that looks.
The sound that plays during the hand explosion thing really hurts my ears. I wish the volume was just a tiny bit quieter. That last boss fight is just... kinda bad.
I'm glad our little boy got out safe. Good boy! He deserves to be safe. I love you little lasagna boy.

The gorefield animations always freak me out
john cena is the perfect combination of power and stealth. Had he been the player character of this game, he could either RKO the monsters or just run through the entire game entirely undetected.

I find the centipede version of Gorefield much scarier tbh. Something about arthropods just spells NOPE. Unless they're fossilized. Trilobites look pretty cool. Did you know the ones you see at museums are usually original material and not moulds? And you can hold them and stuff. Palaeozoic arthropods that you can hold today! So cool.
The animations look fine for a pixel game but the game is a bit tedious honestly.

I got the Aries Gorefield. Every Christmas Eve I get the same nightmare with small changes. I've been getting sleep paralysis lately, pretty often. I think mine found me, Im guessing that is when it's going to kill me. So I'll first try to befriend it, then play a game, lastly if all else fails kill it, I'll do it thru game conditions.
I got Aquarius Gorefield. I live upstairs literally right beside the room closest to the attic with a crawlspace attached to my closet. I live in constant fear to this day.
This game seems super annoying. Should be shortened up, with less backtracking and less tedious boss design.

This had a tremendous amount of style & was really fun to watch & I'm sure fun to play. For a simple concept, it was done really well but it went on for too long on each of the levels, especially the last boss, almost to the point of getting boring. Great job in making it thru!
