Lupe is definitely one of those, who approaches his bars from every possible aspect. At this point, the question begs to be asked. Has the student surpassed the teacher?
You're right about the Jamaican accent because there is a clip of Drake when he was a teenager saying that it's a really ignorant way of speaking. Drake only started talking like that when Dancehall was on the rise again and it was deemed the 'cool' thing to do.
Drake was a Jewish kid in Toronto, who didn't even try to be a part of even the culture of things in Toronto, before it was something he could make money off of anyway. And that's what kills Drake; he doesn't culturally belong to anywhere; not Atlanta, not Texas, not The South generally, not SoCal, not East London, not Jamaica, and not even Toronto. The man's a mercenary who doesn't value anything but money, and what money can get him. Hopefully he finds himself at some point, before it's too late
@igweugo he collabed with dancehall artists in an attempt to connect to the culture. When it was rumoured that rihanna was in barbados when she was pregnant, he was seen playing basketball AND going to clubs in barbados NOT TO LONG AFTER trying to be part of the culture whereas asap rocky is of barbadian decent and will always has a connection to barbados no matter where he goes. The man has a history of trying to be something he is not.
@@nope4008 That's not connecting to culture though; that's literally being a vulture. No one actually looking to be of culture simply shows up in a place, and puts on Barbadan accent to hang. Can even look at ASAP Rocky; don't know much about the man's personal life, but he came to the world as a New Yorker spitting over Texas beats/music. Barbadan by blood, but we're not going to lie and say he didn't go to Barbados and sound like a New Yorker. Maybe in time, he may start to sound like some of that Bajan Creole, but that's what time does
Also, the "shot a Drac" line could reference the previous shots he threw at Drake in songs not being direct enough, and he is aiming to fix that on this track.
I love his breakdown. A lot of people miss that Kendrick waited to drop Euphoria on National Honesty Day which is April 30th. This fits right in with this guy’s analysis regarding the truth serum etc.
The one bar that's sleep on is. Once a lame always a lame. If you look up the definition of Lame, it's a animal that cant walk or has trouble walking, hence Jimmy wheelchair and the album for all the dogs.
I would say over 90% of Black American’s Grew up seeing, listening too Teddy Pendergrass and the Wiz whether it was from your era or not, and whether it was from your Mom, Aunt, Uncle Grandparents, neighbor’s etc our music and movie’s our a part of our Culture as Black Americans! My mother play this song at her wedding reception! I myself listen to a lot of older music even though it’s not from my time. I grew listening to a lot through my family and still listening to this day!
I honestly don’t get the idea that Mr Morale isn’t good. I recently listened to it and that is an amazing album. I will say that you will have all types of emotions listening to that album but me personally I enjoyed the highs, the lows and the prevail that this album consumes.
No one (or let me say few folks) is saying that Mr Morale was bad album; the point has been made that, even more than with TPAB, the album was so dense that it took a good 3-4 listens for the themes to finally start to gel. The problem with that, is that most folks didn't listen all that many times; maybe they got through 2 listens, but that was it. Drake, in his poorly crafted diss, ended up getting folks to go back to Mr Morale, and give the project a couple more listens; with folks getting to their 3rd/4th listens, the project finally opened up, and folks could finally see and appreciate some of what they missed before
They only care about if the album is played in the clubs, they only see success in the numbers their albums do not the deeper meanings their albums convey. That's the main differences between Kendrick and Drake.
We know Kendrick was a fan and friend of Prince but there was an episode of Larry King in 1998 featuring Prince, Chaka Khan and Drake's uncle, singer of "One and a Million", Larry Graham. Prince was exposing the industry and trying to help them get ownership of their music or at least decent royalties. Larry King asked Prince a question regarding all 3 of them getting paid and Prince shut him down quickly. He said "I'm paid....I'm here to help THEM get their money". I'm pretty sure Kendrick knew this too.
14:53 this is purely anecdotal from my perspective but I feel like can say with certainty that The Wiz was something Kendrick watched as a child. By the time we were kids (Dot is 36, Drake 37, and Cole is 39), it was already a classic in many black families. Just like Thriller, or anything else by Michael and the actors/actresses in that movie. We’re talking Nipsy Russell, Richard Prior, Diana Ross, a film produced by Quincy Jones and music featuring Luther Vandross. The Wiz was a big deal for many years and with it being apart of his/our parents time, it was most definitely something they passed to us and had us watch. I can’t think of anyone in my immediate or extended family, or any one of my friends who didn’t watch the Wiz when they were a kid. Heck, my first year as a music teacher I had my students watch and perform it lol. So, I don’t think What’s the Dirt is too far off here. Just my opinion though, I’m not tryna come for you I’m just saying I can see how he would come to that conclusion.
Absolutely correct. It used to come on television during holidays and school breaks. Watching it was a must in Black families. I don’t know of anyone I grew up with who didn’t watch it. Plus it had Michael Jackson in it. I watched it every time it came on.

You're def. right about the Jamaican presence in Canada - especially in Toronto - but that doesn't necessarily mean Aubrey had any meaningful connections to the community as a child. As someone with a scarily similar upbringing to Drake, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that his mother brought/sent him to Jamaican cultural events, nor would I be surprised to learn that someone reached out to her & invited her son to participate. Nah hold on Dee this vid a hour but you high-key putting me on because I'm 4 minutes in and I didn't even peep all this Kill Bill shit as much as I played the song.
Michael Jackson was also in the Wiz and Drake has made MJ references in his songs and Kendrick has as well. Also, when the youtuber broke down the Fubu and Tommy Hilfiger line, I thought about how Aaliyah wore and even modeled for Tommy Hilfiger and Drake has an Aaliyah tattoo as well as a song with her vocals I forgot the name of it but it’s on youtube still. Breaking down rap lyrics is so fun lol. This battle was fun to witness on both sides but breaking down Kendrick’s disses shows that Kendrick is really a student of hip hop. Drake’s career will still go on but this beef will be talked about for years to come and analyzed over and over.
I hate that people keep missing that in the infancy of A.I., it gets confused and will change parts of its wording into something from a different subject (such as names). Which is why Joel Osteen and Hailie Joel Osment are referenced that way.
The fact that Whats The Dirt Went on and on about that Kill Bill reach and disnt even do a breakdown of the movie AI which Kendrick actually mentioned is crazy to me 😂
It drove me nuts when like zero reactors understood the “shot me a drake didn’t aim down enough” line - it was a response to drakes “just to have a talk with your ass I had to hike down” good catch Dee!
This is the intelligence of kendricks music. Imagine listening to your favorite song over and over again and STILL finding new easter eggs in it and new theories. A gift that keeps on giving. The brilliance of people now going back to listen to his other stuff and analyzing it. Rich Spirit and N95 and i think its called Count me out. That man is a true artist with talent. He has smart fans too vs Drakes bandwagon children.
Dee thanks fir doing this! It's DEFINITELY worth the hour. Also, I don't think some of your followers realize how intelligent you TRULY are. It's BECAUSE of your intelligence and logic that you're able to sew through alot of shit and don't allow your emotions to think FOR you. I have so much respect for that which I'd why I've followed you for so long. Plus the shade is top tier!
Lol yeah, I feel like it’s both informative, totally fine and somewhat cringe at the same time. Like when he was talking about the braids, though factual, I was just like alright buddy move on lol.
I think I’m like the only person who got the Benjamin and Jackson line. On JCole’s song Crocodile Tears off of Might Delete Later Cole refers to himself as Benjamin Button. Cole=Benjamin, Drake = Jackson, Kendrick = Joe. As well as Ben the rat, as well as money, as well as white house presidents. But the main one is Cole referring to himself as Benjamin, Cole also saying he’s the reaper, he also talks about Jesus/savior on that. People also thought the you don’t have a classic was to Drake but it was to both Cole and Drake. Mainly to Cole though for saying MMATBS was tragic on 7 minute drill.
I love your excitement for the song, in general. She just wanted to rap the whole song after every line said. 😂😂😂 It's nice to see somebody that likes the song just as much as I do. Many reacting RUclipsrs seemed to fake their liking for the song and Kendrick, and left me feeling a little cringed. I appreciate the authenticity.
37:04 One thing I do think What’s the Dirt is off about is the relevance of the braids line, and it’s obvious why he wouldn’t quite get the significance and hilarity of it. While it’s totally fine, and to an extent, understandable why he would bring up the cultural and historical significance of braids in African and black American culture, all you really gotta do is close your eyes and remember the sheer and utter pain you feel when the braids are too tight lol! The headaches and crying when it feels like somebody’s trying to snatch your soul out your body in order to make sure your braids are as crispy as Drakes be sometimes lol. So, it’s nice the dude tried to give us a history lesson there, but it has less to do with that and with Kendrick’s wearing of braids and more to do with boi, it must be the braids that got you acting delirious cuz you should no better than to try me lol.
i was a big what’s the dirt fan and then i watched his old videos where he says quotes from rappers that include the word nigga and he still said the word n just censored over it 😭
Dee you ain't know? Joe budden had a whole 4 diss track ep for drake years ago 😅 an he says almost all the points alot of people shoot at drake. Joe brought up the surgery stuff first aswell. Actually you should react to Making of a murderers by Joe budden. Honestly one of my favorite disses. That's why people assumed Joe would rap again after drake went Ig fingers on him 😂
I think he was wrong about one part. Michael Jackson didn't have a pet rat. He did a theme song to the movie about kids being turned into rats. The song starts out as " Ben and me".
in my opinion every time kendrick mentions friend throughout his disses he's talking about cole. even with not like us "are you my friend are we locked in" idk that's just my theory and if it's true, then he's funny as fuck
YO! Kill Bill is legit my #1 favorite movie and I missed that link!! Can damn near recite the script word for word (BOTH volumes). Lol but good on whoever found that one first! I'm honestly ashamed, no cap
When he said that line Very first time I shot me a Drake I think he was referring to a Male Duck 🦆 (which is a Drake) you need to aim down to shot as they sit low in the water. He is saying he is a low down person who came for his family, and went he dissed him the first time he kept it light, but now he came at his family and went really low, he will take it lower and not make that mistake again of taking it easy on him. That’s what I thought calling him a Daffy Duck. 🦆
Okay I know late but the thing u said about Drake’s drawing didn’t make any sense just because it wasn’t crinkled up doesn’t mean it’s not old if he took really good care of all his art work in a good folder then it would be still good
Im a big fan of Whats the Dirt? So happy people are watching and reactions. I found Dee!!! And now I have watched so many of her videos and now a big fan!
He missed some things. The DMX & Michael Jackson bit talking about the way Kendrick hates things about Drake. I could go on, but the comment section on the video does it better than me. IloveMakonen Going up on a Tuesday. The track dropped on a Tuesday. Adolf Hitler was ridiculed for being Jewish and destroying his own people. Drake made jokes about African Americas' history.
Most of those are reaches tbh except maybe the DMX bit but he's mentioned that in another Kendrick/Drake video. I highly doubt he was throwing shots at Makonnen when he's not even under OVO Sound anymore and mentioning Adolf would be way too tone deaf and would make him look awful.

Nah hold on Dee this vid a hour but you high-key putting me on because I'm 4 minutes in and I didn't even peep all this Kill Bill shit as much as I played the song.
So I needed background noise for homework today and you delivert!
Kendrick also too the “we don’t wanna hear you say ngga no moooooooo” from Kanye when Kanye said “we don’t wanna hear that weak shit no moooooooo”
From “get em high” - Kanye
There ain't no way in hell we got an hour long video from Dee. 2024 is a different breed. 🔥
I hate that people keep missing that in the infancy of A.I., it gets confused and will change parts of its wording into something from a different subject (such as names). Which is why Joel Osteen and Hailie Joel Osment are referenced that way.
When you said “girl get up” at the sexy red part lmao 😂😂
Kendrick may be the only one in this world who can make Dee do an hour long video😂
59:24 “BOMPTON 👹”
Lmaoooo
The fact that Whats The Dirt Went on and on about that Kill Bill reach and disnt even do a breakdown of the movie AI which Kendrick actually mentioned is crazy to me 😂
Even his Toronto accent is fake lol. We all saw that video calling it ignorant 😂😂😂😂
Drake doesn't get a Jamaican accent pass, we don't stand with this.
Agreed Jamaica 🇯🇲. We nahhh support him.
As a Jamaican we don't claim him
This should be taught in philosophy class
Psychology and philosophy I so agree. English class with this kind of break down should be wild.
It drove me nuts when like zero reactors understood the “shot me a drake didn’t aim down enough” line - it was a response to drakes “just to have a talk with your ass I had to hike down” good catch Dee!
also chipped by a throw away is a play on the chip a nail drake said on push ups
I wasn’t born until 93 and saw the entirety of The Wiz and probably over 20 times by now.
There’s layers to this. Kendrick 🐐
Drake not having a classic is also another reference to him having ghostwriters.
Hearing a yt dude talk about "the culture" is crazy lmao
Lol yeah, I feel like it’s both informative, totally fine and somewhat cringe at the same time. Like when he was talking about the braids, though factual, I was just like alright buddy move on lol.
@@bronxkies LMAO right. I'm conflicted but it's still a good video.
This is the 100th video of Dee about euphoria 🤓☝️. We need another 100 videos
100% right on the “chipped by a throw away” line
Omg since I was 2 I loved the wiz n I’m only 27. The music n just everything is so good
Nah the wiz is really good
Imagine if Chubbs really was in the bathroom. Bruh on the toilet or pissing and somebody run in there like
“Ayo puff just slapped aubrey!”
What a mind f*ck.Kendrick is beyond genius
"Dusties who gon die dusty"😂
Those clips of drakes fake accents tho 🤣
i was a big what’s the dirt fan and then i watched his old videos where he says quotes from rappers that include the word nigga and he still said the word n just censored over it 😭
Kendrick is so fine to me 😭
Dee you ain't know? Joe budden had a whole 4 diss track ep for drake years ago 😅 an he says almost all the points alot of people shoot at drake.
Joe brought up the surgery stuff first aswell. Actually you should react to Making of a murderers by Joe budden. Honestly one of my favorite disses. That's why people assumed Joe would rap again after drake went Ig fingers on him 😂
Mr. morale is different but it’s a good album
I mean it won best rap album and a few other awards at the Grammy's so it's not like the album hasn't gotten it's due
So glad you reacted!!!
I think he was wrong about one part. Michael Jackson didn't have a pet rat. He did a theme song to the movie about kids being turned into rats. The song starts out as " Ben and me".
Gah damn.. an hour plus reactions vid
Not, "Girl Get Up!" Lmao
The Wiz is such a classic for black american. i’ve watch the entire thing and i’m Gen-Z, 17 years old to be specific.
Born in 2000 and I watched The Wiz on repeat as a kid, had it on VHS and DVD
Love your videos
Not gone lie the “my boyfriend at the time” line 👀 lemme mind my business i don’t need to be denied by my celebrity crush on a Sunday
in my opinion every time kendrick mentions friend throughout his disses he's talking about cole. even with not like us "are you my friend are we locked in" idk that's just my theory and if it's true, then he's funny as fuck
YO! Kill Bill is legit my #1 favorite movie and I missed that link!! Can damn near recite the script word for word (BOTH volumes). Lol but good on whoever found that one first!
I'm honestly ashamed, no cap
Safe to say this is dee's song of the year. Well same
You giving us content!!!!!!
I like how wheneva a verse is being played Dee sings along, I was doing the same all video😂
KENDRICK PROBABLY WATCHING LIKE DANG I DIDN'T EVEN THINK OF ALL OF THIS 😂
dee be moving her head when she singing like she just know she sexy smh 🤣😭😭😭
Wow Dee! U actually did it.
Dee be knowing ❤
I watched this whole video it still felt too short 🖤💯
“No no Adonis drew this”😩😭😭 DEE SHANELL!!
Ouuu chile!!!… 1 hour … thank you Dee!!!… 🥳🥳🥹🥹🫶🏽🫶🏽…
Completely unrelated, Dee is so beautiful
Was just watching Kill Bill. Love it
Yeah I didn't listen to the Mr. Morales album until like a year later. I was randomly running through KDot's catalog/albums. I will say Mr. Morales is not my favorite. But I did find some likeable songs.
