- Yamaha banshee flat track racing ,GoPro raw, Electric city MC, Upstate NY Fall 2019, First place win. This was the last race for 2019. This is also my bro’s first race on his new used quad, He is The one pushing his backwards to the second row starting spot. Caution came out early so we were rolling through turns one and two then when it’s lifted I start pouring it back on through the corners again. This win was epic and was all I could do for the series points race that ended with me in 2nd one single point behind 1st. Congratulations to the 88 nick on his championship win.
I just got a banshee I’m 17 and I saved my money for so long. I’m never selling it

I used to have 2001 banshee used to jump it 60 ft and drift corners that's how you rode them

What was your tires and gearing setup? Sway bar?
I run the Hoosier tires they are pretty much the standard for all. Size 18.5 /10/10. My gearing is under driven I believe it is at 13/41 and I run the rath racing sway bar.

It’s called flat track racing and it’s popular with motorcycles more in other parts of the world. Similar to speedway motorcycle racing like In Australia

No there is not. We don’t have enough racers for that many classes
Restrictions on tire or swing arm length or anything? How could I look up this information. I have a 85 ATC 250r stock with a bank's exhaust and have been doing some flat ... dirt area. Dont need a track in the desert. But would love to know if I would be allowed to race given whatever else I need. Or do you have to be on 4 wheels?
Not really any engine or length. Quads can’t b wider then 50 inches. So that might be the same for 3 wheelers. U need a tether. The biggest thing is the flat track tires. They r must have and the club rule is 3 makes a class so if you show up with two others, 3 3 wheelers racers would be a class. I want to get in contact with BVC trike out of Plattsburgh NY and see if they would come down with some of their sweet rides.
ELECTRIC CITY RIDERS on Facebook is the club try posting on there but the FB is ran by a older guy he doesn’t post a lot. I would love to see u out there hope this helps.

Ride a yfz450 now, but the banshee is still my favorite quad owned. Plus it has to be one of the coolest sounding machines with it's twin pipes.

Had a guy on a Banshee try to test me twice. Once on my 250R and again on my LT500.... Both times he was embarrassed.

Watching this makes me want to do it again. I had a really fast Banshee and I never ever got out ran when I was racing. If anyone past me it was because the race was over. Flat track racing there's nothing better.

Good Riding, and good job selecting the right "Gearing" for the track, its hard sometimes to get just the right ratio to be able to do that!

That was on our Labor Day race and they let him loose with it during the intermission for like 20 laps was cool to watch for sure. It’s such a tiny track for a car.

Must not have been a 250R out there. Ran flat track for several years and never saw one beat my R or a 450 Yamy or Honda four stroke.
Never cared for a flat track. Always raced hare scrambles. Flying Dutchman in Pennsylvania. Jumps, tables mud puddles in and out of the woods. Loved it

Edit: I only rode a banshee once back in 1997. I also wanted to say how Fortunate is that family to be having that much fun on the weekends. Good on you guys and best of luck in your future endeavors on the track
Yes I run a 1/4 turn twist throttle everyone else uses the thumb throttle and Thank You for your good luck wishes.

Why do you use the twist throttle and why do they not? I know usually Banshee’s and most ATV’s / Quads have a thumb throttle.
Well the ban.shee is fine there pep but my quad doesn't play to much with everyone in the back he'll half the time I don't even have to wear goggles LT 500 well590 R two stroke ported baby well anyway enjoy the ride no matter what it is
Most people think if you stick a swaybar on a quad that's it your done. Put it on 4 bathroom scales or race scales and put 20lbs more on the LR and stagger your tires with air pressure and size differences. If your lifting the Lr at all your setups off you should be almost pulling right front off ground and man you can really move then

I used to flattrack and the banshee was the only thing that could beat me but only on bigger 1/4 mile tracks. Smaller ovals and tt I would wax them

You're lossing the powerband in the turns when you let off the throttle. Learn to engine brake in lower gears and you'll always be in the band at all times.
