    Great Film. Very informative on tackle and fishing, also very good messages regarding the river, it’s people and conservation. Great stuff Mikael

    What a cracking video. Great to see there are rivers in the world that are not struggling to keep quality salmon fishing available

    Mighty river, mighty salmon. Extremely lucky the very few anglers who have the chance to fish there.

    What a great adventure, the Romsdal crew did a good job of setting you up and helping land some nice fish through there master boatmanship . Looked like your reels worked flawlessly and your partner learned a valuable lessen , don’t take your Hands off the cork to get more leverage . And always bring more then one rod :-)
    Happy Trails

    your a very lucky and privilaged man to be able to fish all these wonderful rivers all over the world mikael, for 95% of us watching it'll only ever be a dream! great action and very strong fish, i've hooked many strong salmon in scotland in the 12lb-20lb size and they are incredibly strong so i cant begin to imagine one in the 30-40 size 🤯

    If a person wants C&R, then he or she must try to teach others the Proper method! The fish must be kept Upright not on it's Side!! And in Deeper Water with more flow (with the Head pointed Upstream)!! This Way the fish will Recover much Faster! The blood Circulates, in the gill filaments at Right angle to the flow of water (No Flow in Shallow water). Moving back & forth, doesn't help😃 As a fish pathologist, I should know. Again "No Flow in Shallow" 😃 And O doesn't absorb & the fish is, saying "🆘" 🥺😳

    Hi Mikael, if there is anything I can do to help preserve the Alta, I'm here to help, even though I am 15,000km away in Australia. Let me know!! ❤

    Fantastic to watch while waiting for one's lucky number, while waiting on the phone. Almost made me forget about the muzak. If anybody knows, where I can find free tech drawings of some of those fishing boats, I would be very happy know.

    Great fishing. I've been criticised in the past for holding my rod tip quite low and backing off when playing a fish - this gets it out quicker for release and I notice Mikael does the same - also I love the way you minimise handling the fish and keep it in the water prior to release. They are magnificent creatures and deserve respect. Well done Mikael - and I notice you were using a UK rod which is even better!!

      HGi, welll i fish mostly Next cast lines. Salmon finder 40 with 10 fot tips and the Zone lines with 15 fot tips. In this film most of the fish took a Int/sink 3 head with a sink 4 and a sink 8 tip. SALAR S2 rods perform beautifully with a Salmonfinder 40 and tips..

    Amazing video!!! How long is the leader on I/S3 for exampel? Can you say more about lenght of the leaders you use in general? Thank you!!!

    • @frodinflies
      @frodinflies  2 года назад +3

      well... thats a long article ( did write it some years ago) i fish from 50cm to 5 m. i think the futher away from the fish the longer leader you need. The deeper you want to fish the shorter you need... On the Int/3 i normally use 2-2,5 m

      @@frodinflies would be nice with a video where you talk about lines and rods and how those relate to flies you use. Like if you use different lines for casting the biggest TTT and a small BTT.
