In the 1980's I used to travel to Hong Kong just to go shopping as a teenager. Now with the internet making shopping easier (and a family) I don't travel as much. Thank you so much for this, I hope you do many more videos. Now I want to go shopping and look inside all the fun stores you walked passed in the video! :)
This was uploaded January 19. According to weather records, except for January 4 through 10, daytime highs that month were around 65 and overnight lows in the mid 50s. Since this is evening, it would be closer to the high than the low. Probably around 60 (15ºC). Odd that to people like me who don't live in subtropical climes, 60 feels quite comfortable with just a light shirt. No winter coat until it hits 45 and no scarf until it's well below freezing. Another funny thing is the last time I was there, it was around 85 every day but it didn't feel especially hot.
good observation, up and down movement is human walking phenomena, i can balance off it if i walk with my bended knee, which is odd i try to keep the environment sound for real city life with a external mic.
I'm so interested in that couple you start following at 29:07 Who are they? Where are they going? They seem like a happy couple, they hold hands for so long!
Yes , i've noticed sometimes a lateral roll like a wave coming and passing , but still non disturbing cause it's very soft . Also if you look at certain points at the edges (sides) of the frame , you can see your up/down walking movement .I guess it's a sort of resonance caused by your steps . Not perfect , it's hard to get such a perfection during one hour longshot . Anyway , at anytime I coulg watch at faces and expressions , could listen to laughs , it was very immersive , I love HK more . TY
Sorry for the late reply ,i did not see this msg till now,do you have a email here is mine. tony.helsloot@worldnaturevideo.com I look forward to share some ideas
I send a e mail to you but it say something wrong with your mail adress ? i send letter to you Hi Guys, Love your work ,I was wondering I going to make part 2 on the virtual walk HK ,and I love to find new good routes for walking and filming . Also we can perhaps join forces on you tube and make a great virtual HK channel ,what do you think . We could try to get intrest from the tourist board may be ? I hope we can start a dialog . Warmest Regards,
Very neat video. I will be visiting Hong Kong to celebrate my 30th birthday with my dear friend who lives in Tuen Mun. I'm very nervous about the trip. I'm from the United States and my town is only 125,000 people. So quite a difference in size. What time of night was this filmed? Didn't seem as bad as I thought it would be. Almost reminds me of Vegas. :)
no, i just have the stabilizer alone, however, you can see some "swinging" at some locations due to breeze, which is my biggest enemy, so this video isn't perfect....
I had joined some walk tours which were organized by WalknRove Hong Kong www.walknrovehk.com , and knew more about local heritage and culture, also enjoyed a hiking trip with them in Sai Kung for exploring the fantastic nature in this lovely city.

I like the up and down as well as the side to side swing. When I watch this on my TV it almost makes me feel like I'm the one walking there.
Fantastic job! This has to be one of the best virtual tour videos of Hong Kong. Keep up the great work =D. Thanks for doing the night view idea!
very nice! Love to see more of Mong Kong videos..
Thanks for the great upload
how lucky they are, to live in such a city!
My first trip to Hong Kong was in '07 I stayed at a guesthouse on Nathan Road near Jordan Rd. Somewhere between 38:20 and Jordan.
Take me back. Stayed in Central for 3 weeks this summer. It became my favourite place in the world.
The swing is happening only when you cross a street , lateral breeze ... i like it too.
Lots of winter coats . . . must be cool.

I really like Hong Kong - cool place, visited twice. Wish there were more hot white girls though!
I guess it's a matter of taste but Eat Asian women are by far the most beautiful creatures I have ever seen.
hongkong sucks
What a shithole
