Heard this when I was in 5h grade. It's in my top ten. I was a teen in the 70's , greatest music ever. Got to see all the greats live. Wouldn't trade if for anything. Glad you like this.✌🌻🌻
In the late sixties there was a high school group believe it or not that made the charts. Their name of the group was called The Left Bank or Banke. The song was Walk Away Renee. Kids this age were a breath of fresh air, just sayin'!😉
i was around in the 70s its a one hit wonder ,with the money he got ,he bought a dairy farm and suppiled a local village with milk for free ..... but thats the 70s ...mad mad time and before you ask i was 18 in 1970 lol ( a crumberly person here)
You re so pretty i m in love with you ( i m french and i think english girls are the prettiest 😄) and also i love This song because i m 73 ( to day ) and i know all these good musics from 60s and 70s ❤
Hearing the Musak version of this walking through the airport between flights was no fun. It was the 70s and there had been a few skyjackings and air disasters. It seemed like a sick joke, hearing that in the airport.
This song has been getting some play on Streaming Series lately. In the TV Series "Jack Reacher" Jack Reacher is in mortal combat with a Cartel hit man on a fire escape and Reacher strangles the guy and hangs him from the rail of the fire escape with this song playing in the back ground "FREAKIN AWESOME" In the series "Big Sky" The Wolves Are Always Out for Blood (2021) There is a country band playing this song at a memorial party. Pretty Cool
Hey great reaction 🙂 Just a note: This song was intended as a piss take on the surging evangelical movement at the time. Note the lyric 'I'm not a sinner; I never sinned' as a dig at the hypocrisy of the movement.
Very nice reaction. You might recall this as the 3rd song on one of the greatest soundtracks of all time - from Guardians of the Galaxy. (The 2 songs before it were: Hooked On A Feeling by Blue Swede & Go All The Way by The Raspberries.)
You may have heard this song before as it was covered by a band called Dr & The Medics who took it to number one in the charts, back in 1986. It's a good version but Norman's is the best. Great reaction mate!
Mate you'd have heard this in movie soundtracks. Having been born in the early sixties I can only sympathise and say must suck to be born after all the good music😛
Heya Katie Saw this a while ago but I have been ill and didn't have the energy yo reply. I love the hair. Funny song for a non-christian to write.... made him a few $$$'s I'm sure you have heard this in a movie or something. 1970 year I was born. Key is always the same find something catchy. Still want to see the Ted Nuggent reaction. -YourBiggestFan
As far as 'Jesus songs' go - this one goes to the place that's the best! I've loved it since I was a kid in the 60s and 70s. You did have to be a kid in that time to really get it :-)
why do u have a snorlax in the bg, and i love how u said facts you were not thought of then when this song came out. but its hella fuckin fire!!! glad u reacted to it and enjoyed a true classic from the 70s
Have you heard "Home Sweet Home" from Aerosmith? I think you would have loved the 70s. The drugs were outrageous. More psychedelic than the sharp ones nowadays.
his mom asked him what he was doing writing a song about Jesus... and he told her that Jesus was pretty popular at the time and he thought he'd try to cash in on it - hahahahahah righton Norman...right on @@mor4725
I was 16 when this song came out. Needless to say, it became our generations gospel tune, gospel rock you could say. Great memories.
Born in the 60s grew up in the 70s. A world gone away. Hopefully I’ll relive the 70s for eternity when I die 🥰❤️

My dog Rocco does the same thing. I got to put things up. He loves the chew on stuff
A British babe listening to Norman Greenbaum & wearing a Nirvana shirt. Reverse British Invasion.
If you want to hear a song from 50 years ago, that will blow your socks off. "In the year 2525"
I THINK this was on guardians of the galaxy soundtrack. If not, you've probably heard it in another movie
0sI Y Girl I lived it and another unique early 70's I can think of , if you have not hear is ' Rock On' by English singer David Essex . ◕‿◕ ♫♪♪
I loved the 70,s you missed out lass.

Love the doctor and the medics version, they also do a great cover of Abba's waterloo
Never sinned. I never sinnnnnned. I got a friend in Jesus.
Your hair looks great
It's funny that a Jewish goat farmer did the original gospel/rock song.

Hope you’re having a good day
Have you heard "Home Sweet Home" from Aerosmith?

Norman was never able, nor has anyone else!, to replicate that reverberation of his guitar (it was slightly out of tune) that was on this recording.
Dr and The Medics covered this in the 80s, slightly different but a good version.
Doctor & The Medics version from the 80's is better than the original version You might want to check it out
Not better.
Doctor & The Medics version from 1986 is a whole lot better than this version Check out the Doctor & The Medics version, Its Your Girl
please react to "Free Bird" by LYNYRD SKYNYRD

I think the moral of the song is. Do good, and perhaps you can hang out with Jesus and have a great enternal life
Part of the Jesus movement of the early 70s with the musicals Jesus Christ Superstar and others.
Not really. This song is sarcasm, after seeing such a show on tv. Plus, the singer was Jewish.
