I’ve watched MANY Disney cruise vlogs and this is the first I’ve seen where they advised of being charged at the bar for drinks that are included in other locations of the ship and I’m glad for the transparency you guys offer 😁
Guys you need to change your sunscreen. You need a waterproof for 4 hours 50+ spf . If you sweat it doesn’t run off. Living in Australia we know what works and what doesn’t to stop sunburn.You also need a wide brim hat not a baseball cap. And don’t spend more than 20 mins in the direct sun though if you ever make it here to cruise 10 mins max in the sun. Get in the shade as much as possible.Baseball caps don’t protect your ears , your chin or the back of your neck.After burn care - Aloe Vera gel and ibuprofen. The trick with the ibuprofen is you need to take it immediately after you notice you burn as it’s an anti inflammatory it decreases the redness of a burn - taking it hours later doesn’t work . Good idea about the ship time vs port time and bringing a regular style watch.
We learned to always wear a watch set to ship time AND take a picture of the daily newsletter with the time on board printed on the front page. It also has the number to call in an emergency if you get in trouble in a port.
You know Ben, if cruising had not started back up for awhile, (I know don’t jink things), you could have become a food critic, traveling to all of the best restaurants and giving your review. I just love your descriptions!!! 😂😂😂. I am sure that would have upset the sensibilities of many an upper class / wealthy patron though.
Another nice thing about Disney dining is you can order menu items from other restaurants. If you absolutely loved the pasta from royal court, and are eating in Enchanted garden that night, you can ask the server to bring you Royal Court pasta and they will do so with a smile. We love Disney!
I have been to St Thomas NUMEROUS times, it honestly was one of my favorite ports, however I too experienced extreme rudeness on the island this last cruise ( February 2022), so bad in fact that If my cruise goes there again I will be staying on the ship. I think that port needs to check their attitude!!

We love watching your videos. But we have a pro tip for cruising on Disney ships. Always take the late dining option. For one - a lot less kids. And for two - you won’t feel as rushed.
We’ve been to St. Thomas three times. The last time was in 2020. We experienced run ins with very rude staff in the jewellery shops and got a lecture from a cab driver about god, which, as an atheist, I did not appreciate. We met lovely people on Veterans Drive by the water in Charlotte Amalie, where we always buy bags of coffee. It’s on our itinerary for 2023, but we’re going to spend the day on St. John’s instead of St. Thomas.
The banana daquiris were delicious. We got those instead of the bushwackers. The shops were open at Paradise Point. The view was incredible. The Disney food looks awesome. The crepes especially. Love your content.
I completely agree with you both about paradise point in st thomas. We have lived here for a year and a half and rarely go up there because there's no parking and everyone that works there is completely rude! I worked there for half a day and would never recommend anyone going there for food or drinks but only to take pictures of the view. They're the most disrespectful people on island. Go anywhere but there. We are bartenders at Bluebeards castle and pride ourselves on customer service so next time you are in St Thomas come visit us at the pool bar! J and Lisa

We’re planning a Disney cruise with our son and his family. Our grandchildren are 19 and 15 so they are not character crazy but I am! Castaway Cay is on my bucket list.
With the laundry, it’s also great/important for people coming overseas that are doing a pre stay. We did that for our Alaskan cruise with Princess years ago. It came from Australia to San Francisco and we stayed a few days prior to boarding. The laundry was almost opposite us and as soon as we got on the ship we did a load. 👍
Question, I see you walking in the hallways going to your cabin Nd there doesn’t seem to be. Lot of headroom....my hubby is 6’ 3”...will he be hitting his head? ( no pun intended 😂)?
We LOVE 💕 Disney Cruises! And no kids!but we really enjoy watching them interact with the characters in the atrium. The adults only areas are wonderful! Enjoy!!
We did the whiskey tasting on the Fantasy and let me tell you, it was for serious aficionados. We thought we knew whiskey but….no, we didn’t. We really enjoyed it though.

You probably know this already, but in lots of your videos, there are flags "semaphores" on the walls and floors. The 3 flags in the laundry room spell "DCL"
Before COVID I did this and there wasn't anything open then either. I was hugely disappointed as I too thought it would be a mix of restaurants and shops. I thought it was a bad expercience back in 2018.
I've seen several Prem-Ear showings on Disney cruises. We saw Frozen, Inside Out, Black Panther and Thor: Ragnarok a couple of days before they hit the theatres and had a great time.

Disney cruises looks a lot of fun. I just wonder how much kids that doesn't talk English can get out from them? Or will those turn to be just a lot of frustration when you can't take part of any of the kids clubs and etc. because of language barrier. Or is there enough other things to do to keep them occupied?

I love Disney and cruising, but not sure if I’d like a Disney cruise. And not that I don’t like children - we have 4 of them, but they are grown. I think I just feel like they are separate types of vacations. However… I am very interested in your DLP trip. I do hope you’ll be sharing that with us!! I’m planning a trip there myself.
My family cruises with Disney often and all 5 of us are adults. You can definitely make it so that you see as few or as many characters as you like; there are adult only port adventures offered if you choose to book those through DCL; the adult only areas for dining and entertainment are separated; depending on the itinerary and season you book there are times when there are very few children on board. It might not be for everyone but it definitely works for our family 😊 Oh my goodness, I love Marcelo! He was my server back in September and was just wonderful. Did he do his Chewbacca impression for you at the end of the cruise??

Hi Ben and David, I live in St. Thomas and just loved this video. I am afraid of heights too, Ben. I haven't and won't do the cable cars either so I get it...haha. I can see the Disney Fantasy from my house when it's docked. I've always wondered what was happening on the inside...so cool! I haven't cruised the Fantasy yet but I actually was on the Disney Magic when Dr. Strange came out...probably the same week...haha. I've been on the Disney Wish and I'm about to book the Disney Treasure so I will be in St. Thomas on the other side on that one. I'll get to run home and get back on the ship...haha. So sad that you got kicked out of that restaurant in St. Thomas...not cool! Oh yeah and the tenders on the Disney are the best! I am a big kid too! I love watching your videos when I'm having cruise withdrawal...haha. I hope to see you guys on board one day!
Hi guys we love your video but when you have your hot food you never say if it hot, lukewarm or cold. Love my food but hate cold food. Its not long for our first cruise since 2019 we on the Wonder of seas out of Barcelona in September
How does times work on ships? Say we're at sea and I set my alarm for 8am but we go through a couple time zones during the night? Do you need to keep updating your watch? How does it work or how to keep track of time?
If you need to change clocks, you'll get advised the night before. Always know if all aboard is ship time or local time too (in cases where they differ). There is no consistency across the industry regarding changing times or not. So just be sure you follow announcements and ask if you are ever unsure.
We spend money pretty liberally and I’d be super annoyed if I spent close to $100 and got crappy service and drinks. You two seem so sweet and it would take an extra effort to be rude to you

We've eaten peanut butter and jam/jelly on our pancakes and waffles since I was a little one (in the 1950s). And yes... it is delicious. 🤪Hubby also enjoys peanut butter, onion, and cheese on his... but I try not to think about that.

Question from someone who gets serious motion sickness and avoids boats, do you get motion sickness on these giant cruise lines? If I got the nerve to go on one would I be sick the entire time? Should try pancakes with Peanut butter and maple syrup. Really good, a friend who is no longer with us Earthside got me turned onto that and it is delicious but it must be REAL maple syrup!
you always have your phone with you right? there's a timer feature....set that before ship time and you'll be reminded to stop putzing around and get back onboard! (saved me in Alaska!!)
I think next time you guys should just take advantage of being much closer to the town. Go find a local place & enjoy the drinks. It seems like the ride up the hill to that restaurant is purely a trap for families. Sorry they where so rude too you both.

So happy there are plenty of things for adults to enjoy on a Disney cruise. We will definitely one day take our granddaughters and we adults will all enjoy as well. I love Disney and cruising, but not sure if I’d like a Disney cruise. And not that I don’t like children - we have 4 of them, but they are grown. I think I just feel like they are separate types of vacations. However… I am very interested in your DLP trip. I do hope you’ll be sharing that with us!! I’m planning a trip there myself.
My family cruises with Disney often and all 5 of us are adults. You can definitely make it so that you see as few or as many characters as you like; there are adult only port adventures offered if you choose to book those through DCL; the adult only areas for dining and entertainment are separated; depending on the itinerary and season you book there are times when there are very few children on board.
It might not be for everyone but it definitely works for our family 😊

G’day I would love to go on a Disney cruise but we don’t have any in Australia until later this year I’ve heard 2023 my kids are all too old , that’s my excuse,so it’s just gonna be me sole travelling . Can’t wait ,wish though it was for longer like ,12 nights .

Out of interest why did you chose a themed cruise instead of a normal cruise line if you don't have kids and don't go to Disney ?

Hi Ben and David, I live in St. Thomas and just loved this video. I am afraid of heights too, Ben. I haven't and won't do the cable cars either so I get it...haha. I can see the Disney Fantasy from my house when it's docked. I've always wondered what was happening on the inside...so cool! I haven't cruised the Fantasy yet but I actually was on the Disney Magic when Dr. Strange came out...probably the same week...haha. I've been on the Disney Wish and I'm about to book the Disney Treasure so I will be in St. Thomas on the other side on that one. I'll get to run home and get back on the ship...haha. So sad that you got kicked out of that restaurant in St. Thomas...not cool! Oh yeah and the tenders on the Disney are the best! I am a big kid too! I love watching your videos when I'm having cruise withdrawal...haha. I hope to see you guys on board one day!

Hi guys we love your video but when you have your hot food you never say if it hot, lukewarm or cold. Love my food but hate cold food. Its not long for our first cruise since 2019 we on the Wonder of seas out of Barcelona in September
How does times work on ships?
Say we're at sea and I set my alarm for 8am but we go through a couple time zones during the night? Do you need to keep updating your watch? How does it work or how to keep track of time?
If you need to change clocks, you'll get advised the night before. Always know if all aboard is ship time or local time too (in cases where they differ).
There is no consistency across the industry regarding changing times or not. So just be sure you follow announcements and ask if you are ever unsure.

First time I’ve seen an unmade bed. Nothing like a comfy bed. You don’t have to be dressed for breakfast in the MDR. Why am I telling 😂You guys know that. I’m with David. Give me the cheese. Fruit. Yum. Love it Ben. Mermalade on my toast. Dr Strange was amazing. Saw it in IMAX and 3D. Loveee Benedict Cumberbatch. 🥜 🧈 and jelly 🥞. That’s different. Glad you enjoyed. You guys are well prepared. I always take wipes with me as well. And yes. Must be aware of shiptime. My husband does laundry if the ship has a laundry and go home with 95% clean laundry. If not I start washing as soon as we get home. Been to St Thomas so many times and never rode the cable cars up. The stairs 😩😤. Omg. Was wondering if and when the doors close. Amazing views. QUESTION: is there a weight limit in the cable cars like 1000 pounds or something? Rude person? Wow. Sorry the drinks sucked. Awwww $100 for a poor drink, rude service and the ride. Great buffet. We've eaten peanut butter and jam/jelly on our pancakes and waffles since I was a little one (in the 1950s). And yes... it is delicious. 🤪Hubby also enjoys peanut butter, onion, and cheese on his... but I try not to think about that.

Question from someone who gets serious motion sickness and avoids boats, do you get motion sickness on these giant cruise lines? If I got the nerve to go on one would I be sick the entire time? Because watching these videos makes me want to try a cruise, badly. I'm just fearful of being laid out in bed all day due to sickness. Thoughts? Advice? I'm all ears. Thanks in advance.
Should try pancakes with Peanut butter and maple syrup. Really good, a friend who is no longer with us Earthside got me turned onto that and it is delicious but it must be REAL maple syrup!
you always have your phone with you right? there's a timer feature....set that before ship time and you'll be reminded to stop putzing around and get back onboard! (saved me in Alaska!!)
I think next time you guys should just take advantage of being much closer to the town. Go find a local place & enjoy the drinks.
