I always watch recommendation videos & they're super fun, but sometimes I can't relate & I've always wondered why. So after some thought, I realized it's because it's super hard to recommend things to people without knowing what they are drawn to beforehand! 🤔
Hi Lindsey - I’m not a fantasy reader and I loved Fourth Wing. I am going to try these books that you recommended: The Bridge Kingdom Ice Planet Barbarians Gild The Red Queen The Shadows Between Us. I’m excited to see if I like these. Love you girl! Take care. I really would love to have coffee and visit with you if we didn’t live on the opposite sides of the country. Your personality is right up my alley.
Fourth Wing was my favorite book of 2023! I loved it so much, that's why I'm intimidated by Iron Flame 🤣 I'm so happy that you found some good recommendations in this video! You'll have to tell me what you think once you've gotten to them! Aww you are so sweet - I would get a coffee with you in a heartbeat! 🥹 Love you right back! 🩷
Aww! I hope you still find something you may not have heard of before or that you agree with my recommendations - & if you think I missed any, let me know because I'm always looking for new books! 📖
I need this video. I want to try Fantasy but I am also so intimidated by it all. 😂 Also 'The hair is wet, but the coffee's made' sounds like my every day heading to work. 😂
I'm so glad because I was super intimidated by the fantasy genre once too & now it's my favorite! 🧚🏼♀️ "The hair is wet, but the coffee is made" would be the theme song to my sitcom 🤣
What a great way to organize your recs!! I need to read the Plated 👏 Prisoner 👏 series 👏! It sounds so good. Your disclaimer for Ice Planet Barbarians is hilarious! 😂🐉
It's so tough to give recommendations without being able to have a conversation or know the person's like/dislikes first, so I figured I'd at least be able to give recs based on "where" you're coming from! 🙂 OMG PLEASE get into Plated Prisoner...it's the first series in a long time that really blew my mind! The endings of those books 🤯 I'm embarrassed by how much I enjoy Ice Planet Barbarians 😂
Omg I’m soo happy you did this. I love the way you went about it because yes, I watched other videos and just got overwhelmed. I would love for you to expand on this video!! I’m a primarily dark romance/smut and horror reader. I love regular romance and thrillers as well so I did get some recs!! I wish we could get coffee and chat, I feel I’d get so much insight from you. Thanks again for filming this, I love your videos ❤🐉
I'm sooo glad you liked it! OOOO girlllllll, I could give you some great recs knowing that! I think you'd LOVE some of the more KU type dark fantasies! Knowing you love smut is helpful because I do too so that will steer any recommendations in the future! It's so hard to recommend things to people without having a conversation & knowing their likes/dislikes first! 🤔 I would get a coffee with you in a heartbeat! ☕️
Romantasy is my favorite genre by far, but it can definitely be a tough genre to get into! Once I found that one series that I fell in love with, I was sold! 🥰
Thank you for saying “pea-can” lol this is how I say it but then again I’m Canadian. I would love to also see under rated fantasy or stand alones. Sometimes I really want to read a fantasy but I feel so many are series
YES! I agree! I've always pronounced it pea-can...now for the true test: is it "care-a-mell" or "car-eh-mull" or "car-mell" 🤣 Ooo I can definitely do an under rated vs over rated fantasy books video! & I can definitely do a section for stand alones! You're definitely right - the fantasy genre does love a good series! There is a special place in my heart for a stand alone or even a duology! 💘
I love The Cruel Prince series! I’ve never heard it compared to Game of Thrones before. I’ve been very wary of going into Game of Thrones, worried I’m not gonna like it. But if you think it’s similar I may have to try it.
I can see a vague similarity in the court politics tropes 👑 I have the first GOT book on my kindle & I've been intimidated by it too, but I definitely want to read it! The show is fantastic!
The Cruel Prince is so NOT a romance book!! I was duped by it as well 🙃I really liked your recs - I'm a pretty big fantasy reader and would have recommended a lot of the same as you did too ~ I might add a few here: if you like light hearted vibes & comedy check out: F.T. Lukens - So This is Ever After or Carry On by Rainbow Rowell If you liked Myths & Legends as a kid (Arthurian): Silver in the Bone by Alexandra Bracken or The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater If you liked Greek Myths as a kid: Percy Jackson Series: (similar to HP) or The Song of Achilles (if you like Tragedies) If you love Fairytales: Once Upon a Broken Heart or Cinder (if you like more modern settings)
Right?!?! It's a bit frustrating for me because if I had gone in with the right expectations, I wonder if The Cruel Prince would have hit better for me!? But noooo because I was told it was a "great romantasy" 🙄 That's why I think I might try to reread it at some point! Omg so excited to go look up all of your recommendations & add them to my list! 🏃💨
@@sheisbookedandbusy I have to say though, I am reading Book 2 now and going in with the right expectations and am enjoying it so much more. If it continues to go the way it is it's a solid 4 Star for me, so fingers crossed 🤞Yess, lemme know if you read any of the recs, would love to know if you liked any of them 😊
Wow wow wow You are so knowledgeable on this topic. Not only that, but how do you remember all those books, storylines and names of characters? This was a great, informative video and I can’t wait to read a lot of your recommendations. Thanks!
Thank you so much! My favorite genre 💘 I do usually remember a pretty decent amount about the plot lines, but the character names & details slip my mind pretty quickly after I'm done reading, so I make sure to read the basic synopsis before I talk about a book in a video just to try to remind myself of names! I hope you love what I recommended! 🥹
I love book recommendation videos and would love to see a video about recommending Fall/Halloween books. I have picked a few for the season already but I am definitely having a bit of a hard time lately on picking books for this season. I usually re-read Twilight and Harry Potter during this season. Trying to read Powerless by Lauren Roberts again at the moment and hopefully don't get distracted to finish this book. XD Ice Planet Barbarians so cheesy but it was cute. Ohh King of Battle and Blood sounds interesting and Crave was just a good read plus definitely laughed because was thinking of Twilight I need to read more of that series. Eragon is on my list to read next year. I have Heir Comes To Rise on my Kindle from a Stuff Your Kindle Event so that's good to know. I have debated about reading Zodiac Academy and A Touch of Darkness series. 🐉I am a big fantasy reader and have been trying to dip into paranormal romances. I have Wolfsong on my tbr for October. The tropes I can think of for fantasy are damsel in distress, the chosen, hero, then mentor, dark lord, magic item, the quest, good vs evil, forbidden love, medieval settings, orphan hero, prophecy, the cavalry arrives, antagonist turned ally, enemies to lovers, fantastical creatures, historical fantasy (at the moment looking for a historical fiction I would like but so far historical fantasy is the only genre that can get me into historical), secret heirs, magic, the evil overlord, hidden treasure, and human disguise. Fantasy is such a great genre that I could talk about forever and enjoy sharing it with my daughter. My son so far seems interested in dragons and animals and finally enjoying being read to he is a very busy two year old. Happy reading! Love your videos.
Oooo I would love to recommend some fall & Halloween books! Just added that to my list for fall videos! I haven't reread Twilight in quite a long while, but I do always end up rewatching the movies during the fall! Harry Potter is a fall into Christmas time reread must for me though! I actually just did a spoiler watch of a Powerless video to remind me of the details moving into Reckless! HUGE romantasy reader over here too! I actually own a few different editions of Wolfsong so would love to hear your thoughts when you get to it! wow wow wow wow - how amazing are those tropes?! Made a list! 🩷
I don’t know if you watch anime but I’ve found a old anime based on Sherlock Holmes Sherlock hound since the characters are are all dogs might make for a fun character if you watch some episodes and enjoy the series there on RUclips . Watch the playlist that says in the correct order .
@@sheisbookedandbusy you watch anime you read manga . I think you’re little confused there .
