Not the angles but the reception delays. Similar principal as estimating how far lightning struck by timing how long it takes to hear the thunder sound after seeing the flash of light.
Why are they so expensive, when a 30 dollar phone has a built in receiver and loads of more features?? There are even complex radios (Baofeng etc) for 80 dollars, and those simple Garmin is 300 dollars??
