    I've absolutely enjoyed your Seomjingang series and having done this stretch a few times I really appreciate the drone footage - it looks amazing. I also have to salute you for setting up your camera and tracking back to get those shots, I simply don't have the willpower to do that on my rides!

      Thanks so much Stuart! Seomjingang is such a nice trail! I wasn't expecting it to be that scenic for the whole ride! Haha it definitely takes a lot of willpower to film but it's really fun looking back at the footage after the ride!

    Well done Matt. Thank you for being so brave to be honest and transparent in public.
    As I have indicated before, your attitude to life is an inspiration for me. To illustrate this a little I would like to share some of myself. Let me know if this is inappropriate as this is your channel after all. Anyway, here goes. I woke up this morning and had in my mind to go on my fitness bike ride but the demon on my left shoulder convinced me to rollover. After snoozing for more than an hour I decided it was time to rise. I first checked your channel as I had been eagerly awaiting your recent post. I was just into your latest episode and I was straight away motivated by you to go for my ride, so, with a little preparation I managed to achieve this. Now charged with endorphins, I am ready to take on anything today.
    I find your presentations to be soothing, so much so, that even though I have watched all of them, I will some times play them in the background when I am doing something else like cooking or my floor exercises. Just hearing your voice is good for me. During my ride this morning I had visions of you and Yujin on your adventures and some of your background music came into my head. The ride seemed to go much easier/smoother than normal. I think that beats thinking about the brand of my refrigerator when climbing hills as you suggested in one of your videos.
    I hope that doesn't sound too soppy and regards to you and Yujin

      Wow thank you so much Howard! You are always welcome to share whatever you want to here. It's good for others to see and reflect/be inspired as well!
      That's so great you were able to take charge of your day and go riding! I notice myself even if it's just a little 5km ride or small walk around the neighbourhood, it's always worth it for the amazing feeling afterwards! Can't remember how many times (even very recently) I've just lied in bed all day and accomplished nothing. Trying to make those days a lot fewer and farther in between for sure!
      Your comments really hit us hard with emotions and we always appreciate them so much! As video creators, it's incredibly rewarding beyond words to have reactions like yours to our content, and it's really motivating to try and continue this life and keep filming it as honestly as we can!
      Hope you have an amazing day and keep on being awesome, Howard! 😊👍

    Just binged your biking content. I wish you could redo the East Sea bike path because you keep talking about how it's your favorite but your videos really didn't show much beauty over there. Maybe your vlog production is just much better at this point? I wish I could see what you're talking about when you mention it.

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  2 года назад

      Thanks a lot Elias! Haha yeah when we went to the East Sea that was our first time ever making videos and cycling so we were learning as we went along. Honestly I'd say it's more of a feeling rather than just the scenery too. Like on the East Sea it was just nice seeing tons of little villages that are pretty untouched by modern society, and it felt really "Korean" if you know what I mean. Lots of super friendly people that were really supportive!
      We might be able to return and film it better next time! There are army bases everywhere though so it's hard to film the whole thing legally.

      Thanks so much Thoan! 🙌 Flying the drone is really fun! Lucky to be in Korea where it's pretty easy to do (unlike Canada haha). Ride safe!

    Very nice and pleasant to watch, as usual! Since you talk about filming while riding: how much footage do you usually produce during a day of riding?

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  3 года назад +1

      Thanks so much Max! 🙌 I would say on average I produce about 70-150GB of footage in one day. For example, this day was 60km of cycling from about 9am to 3pm:
      1) I took out the drone 8 times for a total of 32GB. I use almost every drone shot in my edits because they take the most effort.
      2) I took 76 GoPro PoV shots just to showcase different sections of the trail for a total of 37GB. I probably only use about 5-10% of what I shoot on my GoPro because a lot of it is "backup."
      3) I took 59 shots with my Sony ZV-1 vlog camera for a total of 33GB. These are all vlog shots (which I only use about 40% of), scenery shots, and tripod shots.
      And that makes about an 8-12 minute edit depending on how beautiful it was or how much of an "adventure" there was. Haha

    Hi Matt, thanks for the videos. Is it possible/safe to ride from Busan to the start of Seomjingang Bike path? We plan to ride Seoul to Busan (4 Rivers) and then on to Jeju and somehow include the Seomjingang Path. After Jeju, back to Busan and ride the East Coast and across to Seoul. Thanks.

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi @johndebes1060 thanks so much! There isn't a full dedicated bike path from Busan to the Seomjingang, so you will have to cycle on some highways which I don't recommend. Another idea is to take a ferry from Jeju to Yeosu and then you could bike to Gwangyang and bike the path from South to North, or you could take a ferry to Mokpo instead and bike up the Yeongsangang Bike Path (it's really easy) and then down the Seomjingang.

    • @simplydebes
      @simplydebes 4 месяца назад +1

      @@lostthenfound Thanks for your reply. I appreciate your help. We have 5 weeks starting September and keen to make the most of it. We are not keen on the highway option so your suggestion to take a ferry to Mokpo from Jeju is a good one.
      So maybe cycle Seoul to Busan. Then ferry from Busan to Jeju. (unfortunately it's a long ferry trip but hard to avoid). Ride around Jeju. Then ferry to Mokpo. Ride the Yeongsangang and Seomjingang to Yeosu. And then I guess it's a bus back to Busan because we are keen to ride the east coast and eventually back to Seoul.
      Really enjoying the videos where you walk around with your wife and discover new places. Keep it up. Thanks

    I have seen this trail was the only one you did not do at the moment of recording the Faq video about where to cycle in Korea. Now that this one is done, what would be the final order of your favorite bike paths?

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  2 года назад +1

      That's right! Right now I'd rate the bike paths in this order:
      1) East Coast (All the way from Goseong to Busan)
      2) Seomjingang
      3) 4 Rivers (Seoul to Busan)
      4) Jeju Fantasy
      5) Geumgang
      6) Yeongsangang
      7) Bukhangang
      However, if I was a tourist who hasn't been to Korea, I think I would choose the 4 Rivers or Jeju Fantasy bike trails first because Seoul, Busan, and Jeju are such important parts of Korea that you basically have to see if you've never been here before. My order is specifically what I think of the trails themselves from a cycling perspective.
