I was born in jarnuary 1992. My dad used to play Badfinger's best of often when I was about 3 years old. I'm 20 now and all their songs reminds me of parties with my family and stuff. I love this song so much. This is what music is all about ; memories. And I'll never forget theses moments.
I have loved this song since it was released. When I was young we covered several of Badfinger's songs in bands I played with. I started covering this song about ten years ago, when one day, it simply crossed my mind. This song is so haunting, so sad, so heart-touching. An anthem for the lonely, heart-broken, weary, and sad. Thank you so very much for posting this - J.P.
If you covered Badfinger than you are legend man.Badfinger was the greatest band of the 60s next to the Beatles..so freaking underrated & underplayed on the radio.
I wish that Pete & Tom were still here today carrying on ! I can only imagine how many beautiful songs we have missed out on & who knows maybe I would have actually got to meet them. R.I.P.
The last 7 years has been one of the most painful times of my life, especially since I got clean and sober. This song continues to be a huge help!! Beautiful video
After the recent death of Judith Warren [I Know I'll Never Find Another You] I placed comments that I thought Carry On was better. Much better. Thank you, again, for illustrating the beauty and tragedy of this song.
Yo, November 1992 here, my parents play those CDs so often, then I know these songs, I'm always like an old man, when comparing with others who only know pop songs, "lol" . My english teacher in Primary School also teach the class Carry on till Tomorrow, also Donna Donna and Five hundred miles. Happy to see someone young as me like these songs.
In younger days, I told myself my life would be my own And I'd leave the place where sunshine never shone For my life's too short for waiting when I see the rising sun Then I know again that I must carry on Carry on till tomorow, there's no reason to look back Carry on, carry on, carry on Beyond the shadows of the clouds and onward to the sky Carry on till I find the rainbow's end For my life's too short for waiting when I see the rising sun Then I know again that I must carry on Carry on till tomorow, there's no reason to look back Carry on, carry on, carry on Drifting on the wings of freedom, leave this stormy day And we'll ride to tomorrow's golden fields For my life's too short for waiting when I see the rising sun Then I know again that I must carry on Carry on, carry on, carry on And when the heavy journey's done, I'll rest my weary head For the world and it's colours will be mine For my life's too short for waiting when I see the setting sun Then I know again that I must carry on Carry on till tomorow, there's no reason to look back Carry on, carry on, carry on
I adore this song. The skill and voice of Tom & his words, then Pete's riff just sends shivers. If only they had Carried On BUT, i've had experience of someone close with depression, anxiety etc. and you just never know how they're feeling and in my case he wouldn't say when he felt suicidal. Thank you for the clip and all the wonderful pics of the band!!!❤
I'd say COTT is probably the best song on the Magic Christian album. This is exceptionally good and, oddly, I feel it's the one track from their early work which would have been a perfect fit for the magnificent "Wish You Were Here" L.P.
Thanks for posting this, the visuals are great too!!!! What a great future with a sad and tragic end. Still get chills listening to this. One of my favorite all time bands ever!!!! R.I.P. Pete, Tom and Mike.
You did a wonderful job. This is my all-time favorite song. And The Magic Christian is my favorite movie. I have seen it at least 90 times. I wish I could find a copy of it in widescreen. I only have a poor vhs copy.
Thank you so much for the visuals. I went through a divorce and am just recovering 5 years later. I'm starting up a band to continue on with my life after 16 years of devoting everything towards my family. I've already watched it over 5 times and saved it in my favorites. Such a beautiful song. Ronnie B
I think we all feel the same way...its sad when such talented people pass away so young.... and who knows if that had reached their full potential yet?
My INSPIRATIONAL SONG FOR TODAY . I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW OFTEN THIS SONG HAS HELPED, WHILE TEARS WERE RUNNING DOWN MY FACE. THEY WERE ONE OF THE BEST IN THE EARLY 70'S . I did get to see the two remaining members at one of the Beatlefests in LA. It is a true tragic story what was done to this done. The manager's karma will catch up with him if it hasn't already
You're quite welcome. What might have been could have been incredible...but I'm thankful for what we do have from them that still survives-great music.
Thanks for posting this beautiful song; and you did a great job on the montage. Back in the day I had this as a Bside to the single for Come and Get It I believe. I alsso had the single of No Matter what and can't recall what the B-side was, maybe Rock of All Ages.
their problem was they signed a pile of contracts having absolutely no idea what they were signing. This is probably the ultimate in tragic rock stories.
@@judis6224 The music business has always been a cut throat business regardless of the country. For every case like this one there are thousands that it didn't happen to.
Many Beatles fans, particularly American fans seem to think badfinger were the Beatles understudies, when in fact, they were a great band in their own right, Paul mc Cartney may have wrote come and get it, But Pete Ham and Tom Evans have their own claim to fame, They are the writers and composers of Without you.Probably the greatest love song of all time.
Remember the movie, The Magic Christian, 1969? starring Raquel Welch? and Ringo Starr? John Cleese? and Peter Sellers? and a host of others famous and not so famous? Well, this song was part of that sound track and was popular. Check it out if you've not seen the movie. Raquel Welch is far sexier than I've ever seen her, and the movie is the epitome of the '60s. I think it's a good movie.
My dad loved that movie. John Cleese was only in it briefly but was hilarious. The soundtrack album is very good. This is the best song. There was a different single edit I remember.
Very funny film, '60s classic. Another tune from it, "Something In the Air" by Thunderclap Newman, is also extremely good, as well as "Come And Get It" by Paul McCartney and Badfinger.
I lived in Lima in the mid 80's and lived in a home with a record player. I found a "we all together" album and was introduced to Bad finger through "we all together". To this day, I am still torn as to which version is the best. Love both groups.

So true.

It;s 2022, and I am still loving your visual intertreptation of this wonderful piece.
Thank you. Nice to know someone really enjoys it.
Still listening in 2021, just love to listen to it melodious voice and lyrics .👍👍👍
easily the most melancholy song in the badfinger catalog. My absolute favorite.
Very smooth

Known this since I was 9
Sad and beautiful. This was used in The Magic Christian.
More like a beautiful suicide note and the leader Ham actually committed suicide in1975.
@@kongplus1 I just watch & watch, listen & listen
I pray my love of my life reads the comments where else would I be but this song I grew up with ❤️
Many years ago when i was 16 i would play this song over and over on our stereophonic.
The most beautiful song ever written.
Excellent Badfinger song. When b sides were as good as the hits. The guitar solo part is awesome
Love the melancholy sound of this it’s probably the most beautiful song I’ve heard and I’ve heard a lot of songs
God! This brings so much nostalgic memories. My dad always used to put this song when I was a kid and now I find it again 😭✨
Well done, captures the mood spot on.They were a tragic loss to music .
Thanks. Glad to see there are still some fans out there who care about this well loved band.
This song gets me every time. Every. Single. Time. There is no joy in growing old.
there's no joy period.
One of my all time favorites too!

Thank you for your compliments. Glad you enjoy it
A very beautiful song by a underrated group
Someone who has nothing better to do and who does not appreciate good music! Even if it hit them between the eyes !
I'd say COTT is probably the best song on the Magic Christian album.

Ahhh, Badfinger. When I was 15 there was no one who could touch them!
Beautiful song
Yes it is
i think.., a litte beautiful but .., feeling to hot of ..,
That album jacket photo at 1:12 gets me every time. Pete and Joey look so much like Lennon & McCartney.
Thanks for posting this, the visuals are great too!!!! What a great future with a sad and tragic end. Still get chills listening to this. One of my favorite all time bands ever!!!! R.I.P. Pete, Tom and Mike.
This is so peaceful.

So beautiful. So beautiful.
Badfinger should have deserved a better fate!
Beautiful video for a beautiful song. They had so much to offer the world.
Oh my favorite one✨🎶
Met Joey several times. Nice chap . His wife died this past year.
Beatles meets the Moody Blues. Great stuff.
Wonderful song brings back some great thoughts. This is the song that made me love this band so much.
I think we all feel the same way...its sad when such talented people pass away so young.... and who knows if that had reached their full potential yet?

I think this song was on the flip side of No Matter What 45 record
I wore it out I played it so much--- thanks for the post…
It was the flip of No Matter What. I remember it well. I had the 45 and then bought the album No Dice.
thanks, my favourite song and band

Agreed. Sad that someone doesn't appreciate something this beautiful.
Extremely Nostalgic 🥺❤
so hard to find a nice version of this song on YT, very nice, thank you for posting!
My the most favourite composition of Badfinger.
I have always loved this song. It was part of "The Magic Christian" and was the "B" side of "Come And Get It" which was also from that movie.
You're quite welcome. What might have been could have been incredible...but I'm thankful for what we do have from them that still survives-great music.

One of three songs by Badfinger for Magic Christian.
I want to cry with this song too!
So many good memories! Miss them.**
It's like they're singing about themselves.
If only they could have carried on till tomorrow.

2:46 min the best part begins 😊
Awesome song
very good song i was looking for it.
Beautiful song RIP TOM EVANS
their problem was they signed a pile of contracts having absolutely no idea what they were signing. This is probably the ultimate in tragic rock stories.
Pete Ham was taken and ruined by a Shyl.. shyster. Same thing that happened to many national treasures.
Inky it was trusting Americans, must keep it in your own country.
@@judis6224 so there are no other con artists on the face of the earth.

Yes, all you said i agree with...but life is not quite fair, and we are all the poorer for it with the loss of this great band.

The band "We All Together" play also this song, and its spectacular. Its a peruvian band.
