Recordings never did him justice. Vickers live was such an incredible force of nature. Great performance.

Wow! He is great! I had him as Radames on CD with Price and Rita Gorr.
Move over Corelli. Vickers can't be beat in this aria. So smooth and assured.
To those who always said that Vickers' hign notes were not his forte, that last note puts an end to that argument. (At least in 1965 )
