I love that you preach verse by verse! That’s the wisest thing you can do!!! When preachers sift God’s word, grab a bunch of scriptures to back up their opinion, they, to me, are preaching their word and adding scripture to it. When you and others preach verse by verse, and use The Word to back up what the word says, you are preaching God’s Word! And that is the preacher I want to sit under.
I’m 5 minutes in. Let me tell you what God told me the other day after I finished my fast. He let me know I’m going to be talking to “A lot” of people and I needed to learn to communicate in a Godly way. Listen, share, encourage. Often we hear people from the perspective of what “I can’t fix”. Not so. God is knitting their life just as intricately as yours, rarely does he rely on our direction. We don’t always need to fix; do what God does when you pray… listen. He then told me the importance of simply sharing. Allowing ourselves and others to bring darkness to light. See it as a position of privilege, not a burden. I had been carrying around the pain my mother created for decades but a couple weeks ago I simply said everything out loud, it was a release a let go, let God, moment, unburdened. Let people talk, God will respond accordingly. Lastly encourage. This is our part to encourage healing, growth, progress in one another. God teaches us individually how to do that if we let him. I’m still working on being more encouraging.. it was something I didn’t receive in childhood.
Completely unsolicited and not selling you anything… btw I wouldn’t consider myself a rule follower yet this is just good Many talk about weekly Sabbath. What about the sabbath year? Do you practice this is some form? Hit mine and didn’t know it ; noticed my desires narrowing to my family , less serving community , less desire to work which sounds funny unless you loved working the field , everything outside my home was a flop… When i would sit and sink into it - it was a bigger Sunday , more time for reflecting on His goodness , more time directing that narrowly toward my family , more days of family and friends over at the house. I could go on and on about the goodness of this law that before experiencing had never heard discussed before , hope it helps Enjoy friends
