That’s amazing man, thank you for saving this Comanche and returning it to its former glory.
Tanned interior looks so nice, great build
I’m in northeastern Ohio as well and I just bought a 1987 Comanche short bed and I love it! Been watching your videos!
Your videos are always such high quality. You deserve more subscribers. Keep up the good work.
I agree
Nice ,I'm own 87 jeep comanche pioneer 86,000 miles . I started rebuild witch coming out very nice .
Absolutely love the Comanche dude. The floors on my XJ were waaaay worse.
4/20/87
15 more days until it's 32nd birthday
Also nice
Reminds me of my 1984 4 door jeep cherokee with the 2.5 inline 4cyl. Miss that jeep. Still wish I had it.
That Comanche is looking good. I did not have the proper respect for these pickups back in the day but I do now. I preferred the old J series at the time. Rust runs rampant in all old Jeeps. My parents bought a 76 SJ and by 82 it was bad, in 84 I stepped through the rear floor pan. So when they bought the 86 XJ its first destination was Ziebart. Whatever they used for undercoating worked. When my parents got rid of that jeep in 93 it had surface rust on all the normal places under a car you would expect but the floor pans work honestly spotless. There were spots on the body panels that were starting to rust but not underneath.
Subbed for the manche, I have a all black 87 myself, I need floors just as bad as you did.
I have yet to get a comanche but I have had a bunch of XJ's. That floor isnt the worst I have seen hahha. Gotta love Ohio rust.
I love the resto videos. Keep em' coming.
Good job! Interior looks brand new
What a great restoration project. These old MJ's are truly going scarce. its nice to see someone bring one back to life. i have one too that i wanted to rebuild and restore but because of title issues it may not workout for me. if all goes well I will keep the carcass and drivetrain and hopefully get another that i can save.
Great Job,,,My only suggestion is to replace that steering wheel with a tri spoke jeep wheel. Black would be good, they do make a tan wheel and even a wooden wheel would make the interior completly pop,,,but great job with the interior restore
looks incredible! Nice work
Growing up in Columbus where we had less snow, it’s no surprise almost all old Comanches that are still rolling had Ziebart protection. Nice ride. I’ve always wanted one.
Looks great!
Awesome work restoration! 👍🏼✨
Such a nice truck! Beautiful colour too, the white with tan interior is my favourite
It was satisfying watching the quality work!
that looks great!!! im waiting for warmer weather to get started on my 89.
awesome! always liked these jeeps
Great job
Looks amazing man!
Damn dude, nice job!
wow u killed this
Awesome job!
Wow Neo Good good job the truck looks good as new besides the interior but the inside B-E-U-T-I-F-U-L
I had an 89 with a 4.0 and a 5 speed. I sure miss it
dude, it's beautiful. my Comanche is coming along, slowly.... damn pain in the ass truck but I love it
You're making me miss my Comanche's bad...
Really enjoyable too look at! :D
Freaking love it!
You did a great job restoring that Jeep Comanche. IDefinitely a rare truck. picked up a few pointers/ideas watching your video. I am restoring a 1985 Jeep J10 long bed. Mine does not have the rust problem. It does need to be repainted and has some surface rust on the bed and installation of the rebuilt 258 engine with Howell EFI. I will be watching Part 3 of your restoration.
Nice video bro! Keep going with your project. Regards from Mexico
Nice video
Nice comanche I like the way u did the seat
Looks cool
I'm painting my comanche and will do the interior 2
Wherever did you find a headliner? I need one for my ‘90 Comanche. Could you post a link?
If you find out please post I have a 1987 jeep comanche that I am trying to restore
amazon. search noico
Nice truck & vid. It would be nice if you include pricing on these things in your video, that is helpful for others.
I’d love to find one of these to go with all my other jeeps, my j series trucks are crazy rusty minus the one I drive
Looks good. I am working on a 1987 Comanche also. I hope mine looks as good as yours.
I bet he thought it was gonna be mint but he was quickly wrong😂
Terrific video(s)! I just re-purchased my dads 1989 Jeep Comanche (coworker sold it back to me after 7 years). It's in relatively good shape but, due to age, it seems much like yours. The interior smells musty, definitely some moisture inside. After seeing your interior make over, I guess I'll tackle that too! I'm very much a DIY person, Build, fix and repair most things inside and out, but I've never been a "car guy". Can you rate level of difficulty for this interior make over? Scale 1-10, easy to hard? Starting AFTER the floor hole repairs because I'd hire that part out too. Thanks!!!
Great video! It’s helped me a lot.
Where did you buy the carpet and ceiling?
Good Job man! Thanks for not cutting it up
Can you please post a link on where you find your parts????
Thanks for your videos I really enjoy them, I have an 89 Comanche can you please tell me where you got the replacement seat belts.
I have an 88' Comanche that needs some work, where do you get your parts?
I want to see more lol
GR8 transformation, what about the por 15 on the underside, especially the new panels?
Did you ever mention about the place in Canada that makes the lovers for the comanche...I might want to get them for my Comanche
That rust in the floor is not bad at ALL for that age of Jeeps
3:15 Oh my.....
❤❤❤
Looked like it was Fred Flintstone's truck.
Dude you need to post a list of parts and where you got them. I would be very grateful as I am going to tackle this on my Comanche this summer.
Where did you get the new parts from and great work on it.
Where did you get the new weather stripping ?
where did you get the headliner?
Also, about how much did you pay for the seat reupholster
Where did you get the front end parts and the weather stripping?
Those floors look like mine! I have an 88 with a 00 engine and AX15 mated to the truck with a 96 master and slave. It’s a peppy 2wd short bed. I’ve been scanning for interior parts, can you post some links? Thanks!
Great job on the interior! Are you planning on a 4WD conversion for your Commanche?
I dad bought a 86 Comanche new, the sad thing was it was a michigan car. The damn thing is soo Rusty and the thing finally gave up after 33 years and now he might have to scrap it due to a mixture of rust, engine complications (the mechanics and us don't know what's wrong with it) and money.
:( love that thing to death
Great restoration where could a fella find the metal floor mats ?
Who worked on your seats I need mine done
Where did your comanche floor mats? I have an 88 cherokee xj and the interior color that looks that same as in the video (I'm realizing "tan" is not the same "tan" that was used post 80s in xjs). I'm trying to find mats since mine didn't come with any.
How has the sound matting worked for you?
Where did you buy the floor pans and the headliner. My 86 Comanche is almost identical
@neo auto where did you find a headliner bro!? They’re impossible to find online
Can you find the dome lights anywhere?
Where did you get the headliner and the fitted floor mats? Ive got a red 89 im restoring
Where did you find that headliner?? Please lmk
Was the seat foam replaced? I want my 87 xj seats redone but they don't make foam so I guess they'd have to do custom?
Wait where did you get a replacement headliner...? I've got a Comanche that needs one.
yea man, me too
Did you guys figure out your headliner problem?
I need one also.
I have a video I did recently, rusty Comanche floor board.
How is the replacement mirror holding up mine keeps falling off
Hello! Where did you get the new rearview mirror? also where did you order the Custom Carpeted Mats?
Where did you get a headliner because I couldn’t find one for nothing
i know this is old. but if you search the comanche forum. there is a user who makes them. they do group buys every once in a while. or they use to anyways.
Did you use glue to install the carpet, I heard that some do and some don’t? I honestly don’t know what I should do for my carpet installation
I’ve been thinking about buying a Comanche but most of them are in really bad shape. One reason I haven’t pulled the trigger is because I can’t find a good source for parts. Have you found any good suppliers?
links for where you bought most of this suff??
Where did u find the headliner can’t find one anywhere
Better POR 15 the underside of the floor also.
Where did u get the headliner
Where did you get the custom mats
What color did you choose for the carpet?
Where did you get the headliner and carpet
Where did u get those mats
A little late, but where do you find the headliner?
Hi, I have 1988 Comanche and my bench seat is in the bad shape, where did you get re-Upholstered it and how much ? Love your interior color my is grey and not color pop like yours.
I am restoring my 87. Where did you get that headliner?
Where did you find the headliner at? I need one for a 1987. Thanks
Take a look at comancheclub.com search there for headliner replacement
My 98 Cherokee 2 door needs a new headliner, oem floor mats, and weather stripping. Can you link those parts? I’ve been unable to find those parts personally
Got a question for you: I'm starting to restore an 87 Comanche myself, and I noticed that a lot of the screws are either missing or they're so rusted that they break when I try to remove them. If you faced the same thing with your build, where did you get the replacements from? Did you use different types of screws? Thanks a bunch
Did you ever find an answer? I just received an 87 xj and ive noticed the screws missing as well.
Where do you find parts?
July 7, 1987 is the day I bought My Comanche ❤️
First clutch went 134,000.
... It still runs 👍 Original starter lasted until 2016.
Still has original Peugeot transmission.
Dealer installed AC died decades ago, thanks to a crooked Dealer mechanic shop 1989. 🙄
I can name most eVeRytHiNg that's been replaced since 1987. I joke, "like 4 of everything".
4.0 inline 6 cooling system is a hassle, runs hot because the engine over torques, cracking the exhaust manifold. That happened like before 70,000, 1989. Exhaust manifold has been replaced TWICE.
3 of the fuel injectors are original, 3 replaced 2007.
I could list a book of memories via My Comanche. It's on My list to figure out how to update, & clean it up. It's difficult to locate a Mechanic that will do the work, that I trust .. AND come up with the cash. So, I basically do what has to be done & park it except for hay & truck stuff.
My Jeep floor has less holes than this truck here, but so helpful to watch the process. 👍
Wish I'd win a rebuild, repaint via a television Auto show. 🤣
The idea of walking in seeing My Comanche all fixed up tears Me up to imagine it. ❤️
Is a love/hate relationship via that Jeep... 😂
Great story. I believe you do have many memories with your truck. That's great you've kept it. It doesn't sound like it's hurting you to keep it. Especially if you don't have everything rusted out from the roof to the road! Fix it now. It's paid for itself and even saved up for the restoration money for you. You can't replace it with anything new. When they start falling apart they fall hard and hit with a dull thud.
@@jollyjeepertheglen9697 Thank You & Yes, it's paid for itself... Original price new was just over $11,000.
I still have the original sales brochure... It was My first new vehicle. And YES, I prefer older simpler vehicles. 👍
Where do i get a headliner?
Where can I get after-market parts for a Comanche
