How To Add Product Variations in WooCommerce

- In this video I will show you how to add different variation options to a product for your WooCommerce store.
I will use a t-shirt product example and add sizes and colors as options for the user to select before adding to the cart.
I will also show how the product images change when the different variation options are selected

Hi Sven, thanks for this... I’ve just setup a site fir selling short video promos which come with music as standard, but want to add an extra feature, namely a ‘VoiceOver’ after choosing a video promo they can select a voiceover option which adds the amount... can I do this? Thank you

Hi there Sven, i do this and works well but the only thing is that the 'price' doesn't show up on selection of the variation - its really frustrating! In my case I have hour slots i.e. 1 hour, 3 hours, 5 hours, 10 hours and I have set the price in the variations to what the price should be, but it just doesn't show up unless they add to basket and go to the shopping cart - any way to fix this issue? I have an online store where I sell cameras and other accessories such as (sd cards, polarizing lens, and the like), I would like to add them beneath the main product ( already did that step), but I faced the problem that the customer can not control the number of selected accessories the same way for the main product. Does this plugin help me?

is there a way to group certain products under a attribute ? I have 3 groups of products each group cost x y z and i want it to be set up so each group has a different price. for example i have wigs and different quality of wigs. so i group them by quality. one group cost 30 one cost 35 and the other 25 . i want to make it so if the customer picks a wig from the drop down list the price will be pulled from the group that the wig belongs to.

I set prices for variations with Extra Product Options, but the prices in my product archive are not showing up as they are with products that have a price set in the original WooCommerce settings. How come, and how can I fix? :)

Did you mention that you roll leave a link that will explain how to use a file if you have many products and many variations?
I have a doubt. We have a red tshirt only for in large size. Other sizes are not available for Red t-shirt. At that time how can we set in this variation? When I clicked on a red tshirt I can only visible the available size in the size variation list. ie, Large only. When I clicked the green t-shirt it has all sizes. I can visible all sizes of green t-shirt only. How this possible? Please help me.
I made a product with sizes and colors. But in my category I want to show all the colors that are for sale so that people can go directly to that color. I have 8 colors so I want 8 colors in my categorie with off course again with the size and other colors if you click on it. I tried to sopy the page and added a picture with one of the other colors but then he gives an other number (-1 added) to the sku numbers or it says sk numbers allready exists. If woocommerce adds another number then I don't know when it is out of stock?

Hey, I have a problem doing that because I am trying to make a store to sell candles and stuff like that but i want the customer to be able to chose a combination of the scents, so I used the variation option and when i try to choose 2 scents it says that the product isn't available and that I should choose another combination.

looks like Sven is running this instance of Wordpress as 'localhost'. This means that he is running Wordpress on the same machine he is doing his video capturing hence the speed
I followed the video but the color swatches don't change. It just shows that there are options.
I have the same problem, if I don't have a main picture and a featured one, the color swatches changes. After I add them, they do not change anymore. Anyone has this problem?

I am trying to set up a jewelery wordpress webshop. And your video is very usefull, if I follow your proposal - my plan is using Swach plugin in a way so each button shows all the item variations as miniature images.
But each of my jewelery variations has to be shown in two angles. Therefore I am wondering, if it is possible to couple both image angles in one button (each button include one item from two different angles).
Is this possible to do so - or maybe something similar?
If not, my conclusion unfortunately is: I have to spend two buttons to show the first item and two buttons to show the second etc?
(Which doesn't seems elegant to me).
I hope you can give me an advice how to solve my challenge?

Hello everyone Is there a cheaper plugin within woocommerce that has similar functions as Variation Swatches and Photos? I am just starting out with my website and I am on a very tight budget. I really NEED this type of function for my website because currently my selection doesn't even move just stays with the gallery picture. When I go to test out the selection it doesnt indicate the costumers selection for check out.. Thank you.
Is there anyway to add more then 1 image to the color so it only shows the images with that color when selected?

Hi Thanks for the informative video. I have created a variable prodict with different colours and various size options in each colour. I have the cart working correctly using the drop down menu. I also added images of all the available colours, below the "Set" image. If I click on an image, it changes the Main image, but it does not change the colour selection in the drop-down menu. How can I resolve this. Also, I need to put a text description so it hovers over any gallery image, when the mouse is over it. . I installed the "Variation Swatches For WooCommerce" and thought I could solve the problem with the plugin. I added colours from the colour picker in configure terms. After doing 5 colour blocks is shows that there are 5 items, but I have about 150 variations under the Product variations ( 25 colours and 8 size options per colour). Initially the pluging asked me to add the colour picker to product variations, but after 5 items in confure terms, it asks me to add "add a new Colour" when there are alreadymant more, but they don't show up in the configure terms where I have selected colours from the picker. I would appreciate if you could do a video that resolves these issue or point me to an existing video that addresses these issues, Apolgies for the long comment. Many thanks.

Dear Sven, would you please be so kind and let me know how to set it up if you got different products from different suppliers? Drop-Shipping Business and I want the site to automatically display the sizes and colors available etc. Meaning, if a Customer X chose to look at a Sweater A from Band X, I would love to display only the colour that this sweater comes in and same applies for sizes. Technically no as the Bookings extension : goo.gl/tsA7BR doesn't use variations but yes you can do it using the features of the Booking extension (i.e Resources etc) to achieve pretty much any set up. What are you trying to achieve exactly?

You can add a "Resource" i.e resource 1 = 0-50 kilometers, resource 2 = 50-100 kilometers, resource 3 = 100+ kilometers each with a different price associated to them. This would work but it isn't perfect as it wouldn't calculate distance based on the pick up location/ drop off location automatically. So your option is to use a resource for the options with the Booking extension, or look to hire someone for some custom coding that would integration with Google Maps etc. Hope that helps.

Hey . If I want to develop options like pant size and top size and they both will show if the user select item like pant or top if it selects pant the pant size will show and if it selects top the top size will show. Can you help me in this.
