      thank you for kinds words raymond, success depends on how you measure it matey, most on youtube thats subcounts or views which dont get me wrong are good signs of how well you are doing, for me its the comments section of the videos and how much people enjoy the videos, if channel ended now i would look back at it as a success. tight lines matey

    congratulations Danny, what a way to celebrate your 3 year anniversary and we'll done for perseveriing with the conditions, I can't believe you caught so well from a river that coloured. Thanks as always for getting out there and sharing your blogs with us all.

      no problem at all matey mad day on the bank for sure and yes as you say not a bad way celebrate the 3 year on the vlog. it was all new to me tbh i tihnk the slack being the only one for a fair bit of river helped as the faster the river got im sure it pushed more in over the session it also helped being able to feed the swim heavily with the hemp being so close in i think

    Danny - great vid as always mate, fantastic fish there. Big credit goes to you for pointing out how quickly the ground on the bank you are on can change so rapidly from a safe footing to quite treacherous. My grandfather always used to bring an enormously long bright orange crab line with him, attached to a weight, that he could throw should anyone fall in. This also doubled as what he used to call a "Dockers belt" which he tied through the loops of your jeans should they bust at the fastener!!

    • @DannysAnglingBlog
      @DannysAnglingBlog  5 лет назад

      was mad mate wasnt it, by the end it was a bit worse to the point we did pack in before dark as it just became too much. sounds like your grandfather had the right idea, was not a river to have fallen in that day for sure,even if you had stayed close in getting out would not have been easy

    Well done Danny, a fantastic session on the wonderful River Wye. You often get the best fishing when the river is up providing you can find a slack area. I love the Wye, have had lots of barbel from it but never a double, so very well done!

    What a great vlog Danny. Congrats on two PB's and reaching the double figure club. And to do so on the wye makes it a tougher nut to crack, its more exclusive than you think! Kudos also for your safety advice regarding rising rivers and swampy swims. As we enjoy the bend in our rods, we sometimes forget the mud under our feet and the extra pace in the water in front of us.

    • @DannysAnglingBlog
      @DannysAnglingBlog  5 лет назад

      a saying i have heard also dave weird isnt it, and they deffo came on as the river rose as for the morning it was quiet but that rise and then it peaking and dropping they where on it,maybe pushed in by the fast water as editing vid you could see a huge change in speed on the river that wasnt as noticable on the day, thank you for kind words mate

    Fantastic fishing Danny,I'm buzzing for you!!.. Brought back some memories for me.My father and I used to fish that stretch in the early eighties (I recognize the white castle!)... It used to be a fantastic winter chub venue. We regularly had chub over 6lb,and a few over 7lb(just!)...Might be worth your consideration?.. Once again,great video mate!

    which reels best the korum 3500 shadow or the shimano st 4000. hate big reels but that korum looks an okay size

    • @DannysAnglingBlog
      @DannysAnglingBlog  3 года назад +1

      Used both over years mate and both will do job for you. Used the shadow mainly for barbel and there's a barbel playlist where you csn see it in action. Used shimano over years mainly for pike. I'm like you don't like too big of a reel

  • @chrisfogg8018
    @chrisfogg8018 5 лет назад +2

    Is the drag on the reel crap? You're constantly adjusting it during the fight.

    • @DannysAnglingBlog
      @DannysAnglingBlog  5 лет назад +2

      no matey just how i play them when i think there going to go on hard run lessen the drag if heading out into river hwere the flow was really hard and then tightening down if they go for inside cover. found it best way play barbel
