Well, with so many hardpoints I end up using turrets. And they do work well. On the defensive side, the Gunship has pretty good shields and armor. What I'm not clear on is what is the underlying factor is mass locking or being mass locked. The Federal ships are some of the most 'massive' ships in the game. Yet I was mass locked by ships with less mass.
im a cargo and combat in the same ship kind of player, which would you recommend, the Assault ship or the Clipper? i know no stations for clipper but that be compensated for ?
+William Tessier in cargo space clipper wins big time, in combat there are advantages for a clipper, hard to tell definitely because there are millions of ways to outfit your ship but good player in clipper almost always should kill good player in assault ship - clipper has total of around 4000 MJ of shields (including shield cell banks) while assault ship can have only about 2500 MJ, you see the difference :)
One thing these ships can do that the Clipper can't is land on outposts, HUGE draw back in my eyes, but i do LOVE the clipper. Y ou said don't bother with the small points, that makes it the same as the dropship 1 yes?

I haven't played in a while, but seeing as we're getting slightly differing versions of the ships we already had, I expect 90-150 ships not just 30. Federal Corvette and Imperial Cutter are going to be dlc now?
+Kornelius Briedis I wish they'd improved the Dropship in some way at least before adding 2 other variants. Also, the Gunship having less internals than the Assault Ship makes no sense. As you say, only the Assault Ship has any plus points.
+userdann3 no, the base value is too low, you can get prismatic shields and 4 best shield boosters but still it will not be good, FAS is used for silent run and for wing tactics but if you need shields always go for Fer-de-lance.
+Tobias Unter just get any elite and you can go to Founders world. just type founders in galaxy map and you will see that system - Shinrarta Dezhra.

How can you buy these so cheaply? 1.2 mil for dropship? How? 💀
What exactly is the combat variant? Is there a special version of the ship to buy, or is it a custom image of the cost of upgrading it for combat?
+TyOrca 5 combat variant is ship upgraded to be effective at combat, including weapons, best shields and modules as well as bulkheads.
I'll sell my Anaconda for the Federal Corvette, just grinding rank now :D

any ship that has enough cargo is ok, assault ship is very nice combat ship, so if it has enough cargo then it is definitely ok for the job
