Thank you, Steve. This might come in handy. My two mules got loose this winter in a snow through my electric fence and were awful to catch and get home. Usually they are so easy even in a large pasture.
I guess it was was too much chaos with neighbor's dogs and livestock running around plus traffic and I think they were having a blast being free.

Good to hear from you, Marcia... yep, probably having the time of their lives :-)

@@muleranch Oh yes, they were bad but I did catch them after they were done with no problem.
But I am going to check out that come along hitch. That seems, to me, to be a great tool for training and to keep in my car, barn, or truck to catch escapees even in a disaster like a hurricane or fire. It reminds me of a livestock rope hitch that people use on cattle, goats, and sheep at the fair.

Steve, I've been using this tool since you taught it to us at the mule school at Pierce College. Also works great on an older mule that needs a refresher if they haven't been handled much. Hope all is well. Craig says hi.

Steve, thank you SO much! A smuch knitting as I do, you'd think I could do this, but half the time I drop the whole business off the mule's face. Now I can see where I go wrong!

That's similar to what I call a war bridle I use on every horse. Much more control

My 9 month old donkey doesn’t lead well, he’ll just stand there, maybe give me a step or two, or He will lead if a person is driving him from behind. The biggest issue is he has discovered that if he pulls away he can get away from me, because I’m not strong enough to hang on. Will this help with that issue?

My mule hates you to mess with her ears unless you are scratching the inside. I can't get her to chill out about them.
