Hello Whitney, I have been doing your excersises since I received my singing straw on Jan 17 2022, I have been doing your practice sessions about 4 times a week, I usually do about 3 of your lessons in a row.
I have been a professional singer here in Australia since I was 17 years old (I am now 57!!!!), I have had many teachers over the years, some great, some not so great......and after a long break from doing live gigs, my Husband who is a piano player and singer and myself are doing some little gigs again starting next month. I have been practising with the singing straw and then practising songs and I am finding a really big improvement in my voice (especially in my "break" area !!!!!! my voice was very rusty, but it has smoothed out so much ! my range has come back and I am able to sing through my break area with much more ease! Thankyou so very much for your wonderful lessons, you have given me back my voice!
My friends, family and Husband can all hear a marked improvement in such a short time!
I will continue to sing /practice with my singing straw and your fantastic lessons, again thankyou sooooo much!!!!!! Kind Regards,
    Julia Evans from Australia!!!!

Whitney! Thank you so much for these videos! And the singing straw! I have bought one and it’s helped so much to align and strengthen vocal chord and body connection. Your channel is a daily tool and encouragement to keep singing! Bless you Whitney!

Could you do different compilations for different facets of the voice , something like what Jacob's Vocal Academy does but with straws?
I would really appreciate it if you did, there aren't many channels that post straw vocal workouts.

Wow! Worked up a sweat on this one! I'd been using your July 2020 Best Singing Warmup up until a few months ago. Left shoulder surgery put a damper on both my singing and guitar playing. Came across this one today and must say it is a workout; however, it could be from me slacking off. I'm a male vocalist. Although can't quite reach the high notes, yet, I like the challenge. Thanks for the great videos and hopefully I'll get back to normal in the next few weeks.

I do appreciate all the no talking exercises for regular use and the ones with talking/explanation for concept and theory.. I struggle with pulling and pushing sounds as well as inconsistencies with my tone. is it possible to have breathing warm up for daily exercises as well with the straw?I'm really glad i was able to come across your exercises.. i now do it daily and it helps me gain more muscle memory when i apply it. Thank you very much!!

    Whitney-
Love this video! I’ve been doing your lessons with the S/S for over a year now and I refer to it as my “secret weapon”. It has helped me in so many ways and really is like magic.
Something I have an issue with, especially if I’ve had a little too much caffeine, is tensing the tongue and jaw. It’s my biggest problem. As I go thru the videos, I’m constantly reminding myself to relax them.
My question is: do you have a video on here that addresses that issue and perhaps offers some tips on how to relax the tongue and jaw?
    Thank you!
    -Scott

Hi! So happy that you have been enjoying your S/S :). Tension is the worst! Sorry you are dealing with that. I would recommend checking out the following video: ruclips.net/video/Q3bwsj_q0ZQ/видео.html
There are some good stretches in there that might help!

Hey Whitney!! perfect video as always... I just have a doubt... I'm a tenor vocalist and want to take the best advantage of this video, my question is, should I follow the same pitch you are phonating thru or I should lower the pitch (I have a tool for that), and if that is the case: how much to address my vocal range the best? Thanks (Hope u read this).

    • @SingingStraw
      @SingingStraw  3 года назад +2

Try dropping the octave instead of changing the pitch and see how it feels!

Thanks for super exercises and you knowledge! You introduced me to the straw here in your channel not long ago and I really liked it from the first try. I see there are some who tense the cheeks when blowing in the straw but it looks like you have your cheek muscles relaxed? Do you have some thoughts on the different styles here?

Whitney I bought your straw because I heard it’s a very powerful tool to help you be a better singer and so im looking at your videos and I was wondering if I have to increase the time I spend on each exercise or do I just watch the video over and over again and go with your pace? I apologize if I’m not making myself clear I’m new at singing and I just want to be sure if I’m doing things the correct way.
