  • Whether you watch on a Monday or any other day of the week, spend a few minutes with me as I make a small piece of art and practice mindfulness and being present in the moment. Each video in this series will be somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes long. I will not be talking but there will be some quiet music to also help set the scene. In this episode, I use acrylic inks and make gentle, sweeping strokes but just enjoy watching the watercolours do their own thing. Hope you enjoy.
    Supplies used:
Dr PH Martin Acrylic Inks in Golden Yellow, Orange, and Cherry Red
I also use some paint brushes and a pipette to spend water

“In its own good time” is a good sentiment for the day not to rush by. 😊

Thank you Martin - I’m thinking about how I can keep them together or display them once I have a few of them. Hope you are well.

Thank you Kylie. Interesting how you used the pipette to add water as well as suck color and move to different spots. Fun!
Love the calming music too. I hope your day is filled with much peace, love, and laughter. 🌹

Thank you. I didn’t want to drag my watercolour brushes through the ink - made that mistake once before and spent hours trying to clean the brush! And although I had acrylic brushed on hand I really just wanted to add a little water to the ink (the s-ray bottle that I use a lot would have too much) so I got the pipette and it was only when I was using it that I got the idea to lift some of the ink where there was a lot and redistribute it.

Thank you. Yes it’s watercolour paper - I meant to put that in the description box but forgot! I use ink a lot in mixed media painting and I sometimes like to paint with it on it own. Hope you try it.

Love the bubble effect Kylie. I hope they were able to dry that way…very gentle start to my Monday. Thanks!

Thank you. I was hoping the bubbles would leave some sort of mark but I think the ink below them just eventually absorbed them but it’s given me an idea to try something!

@@KylieCooStudio ahhh the joys of being an artist! I find it so encouraging that what could be a disappointment has really opened a new door in your imagination! Please share.

With these little pieces I’m actually just enjoying watching how the paints / inks mingle together - sometimes blending completely in to each other. This particular one took a while to dry but I kept going back to it to observe what was happening - as I write this I am now having a laugh to myself because I was actually watching paint dry! - but doing that has actually helped me notice a number of things from which I will now experiment. And I will certainly share what I come up with 😊
