    Your videos are actually informative. I am noticing many tubers just like showing how cute they look vs teaching. You always do a good job of slaying AND teaching. This looks quite natural, plucking & lace color makes the clear difference.

    Hey Ivy, do an update video on this technique. I want to know if the closure slides back? I had a closure in not using an elastic band and just sewed it around and eventually it started to slide back so I'm think the frontal would do the same thing and your braids at the front would be exposed a little, Let me know. Thanks!

    • @ivyleaguestyles
      @ivyleaguestyles  9 лет назад +7

      +Chantel Cecilia over time a closure/frontal will always slide back! i thank a frontal can last a month with light maintance

      @ChantelFrancis 9 лет назад +1

      Ivy Dear
      Okay very true. I'll give it a try, maybe ill also try it with the elastic band to see it it holds it in place as well. Thanks.

    • @89rebel
      @89rebel 9 лет назад +1

      +Chantel Cecilia hey, Sorry I'm new to closures. Does this mean I will have to but a new closure every month?? Thnx

    • @juliep8131
      @juliep8131 9 лет назад +4

      +89rebel no means you will have to touch up your closure in the front some pull it forward in the place they want it sew it down around the perimeter or wherever they can find a spot to do so .

    • @ChantelFrancis
      @ChantelFrancis 9 лет назад +14

      89rebel
      No, keep the same closure. She just means that your closure install would just last a month, which is good timing in my opinion b/c I like to care for my hair and give it a good deep conditioning treatment. You could keep pulling your closures forward, but I hate doing that. It's annoying to do that so I just get a fresh new install.

    OMG did my first frontal yesterday and it is so much harder than it looks. Girl you make it look so easy. I cannot understand how your lace doesnt curl up or lift around your edges. I did it just like this and my lace if lifting like its no tomorrow lol Im forced to try and elastic band. Hope it doesnt make my head hurt! And how in the world did your baby hairs lay down. I take a tiny bit of hair, cut it and try to lay it down, and it sticks straight up..doesnt lay at all no matter how long or short the hair is. so frustrating!! but im gonna keep trying! Great job!

    I watched a lot of stylist apply a sew in lace frontal as a wig on a cap and directly sewn on braids, but you were the first to explain what happens with the front of the frontal I understood it when you wrapped the thread around one side of the back of the head to the other side. thanks for that because now I get it.

    Ivy, So my only question is can you lift the lace at the front ? Idk but I see some people with glue less methods & it looks fabulous but you can lift the hairline right up cuz it's not super secure there. That's fine lol but I'm just so concerned about mine lifting then you can see my braids. & thank you for the vid! It was very informative

    • @ivyleaguestyles
      @ivyleaguestyles  9 лет назад +7

      It doesn't lift at all I showed that later in the video

    • @happynappyzama9682
      @happynappyzama9682 9 лет назад +2

      +Ivy Dear How does it stay put in the front? What mechanics keep it from lifting? i saw you rub your finger through your hair from the front to the back when you were done and it didn't lift and I'm wondering what's keeping it from lifting at the front, or perhaps it didn't lift coz you were being super gentle otherwise it would lift coz nothing seems to be holding it down securely on the front hairline , just curious as to what keeps it from lifting

    • @bonbon2368
      @bonbon2368 9 лет назад +2

      +HappyNappyZama +Ivy Dear This is the exact issue I'm having now.
      I've had a frontal closure in for the past 3 days now and I love the concept. But it's very frustrating trying to figure out how to sew the closure by my hairline without any threads showing and without any lifting.

    • @SinglemomsinChrist
      @SinglemomsinChrist 9 лет назад +12

      +HappyNappyZama her sewing it down on Both sides by pulling it down securely is why it doesn't lift. If you sew it down and it's not lane completely flat or sewn in the correct areas using the proper tension on the right areas it may lift. Just put tension on both sides and see if it lifts, if it does put tension on other parts of the frontal and if it lays flat then you know you sew there

    • @verda_renee
      @verda_renee 9 лет назад +4

      +Jocoby Junious I had the same concern but saw another video where the girl went and parted the frontal and sewed it to each braid row, not only the perimeter braids. It makes it much more secure.

I was trying to book this stylist in my area and she was taking too long and being very flimsy with her schedule and my man is coming home this weekend and I wanted my hair to look Flawless for him and my unit is coming in tomorrow so she just missed that money by being funny LOL. She doesn't respond well to calls or text messages and she said that she needs time with her family in the evening and guess what I need time with my man and I want to look good for him too. I'm definitely going to subscribe thank you so much!!!

    This may be a crazy question but has anyone ever tried having a frontal in the front and back of your wig/sew in? It seems like it would have a good natural look since the lace would look like scalp in the back too especially for ponytails. Idk just a thought lol

    Why do some people bleach the frontal?

    • @tiarajanel
      @tiarajanel 8 лет назад +8

      It makes it look more natural because if you look closely at unbleached frontals you can see where the hair was knotted onto the lace.

    • @jessicashemone
      @jessicashemone 8 лет назад +6

      So you won't see the black knots that bonds the hair to the lace and also it makes the hair towards the roots look more natural

    • @kerisl.430
      @kerisl.430 8 лет назад +26

      You could just make a wig and then u could wear it whenever

    • @trecero5558
      @trecero5558 8 лет назад

      then you need a wig then frontal sew ins are the same time as a regular sew in

    i mean, im arab so i dont actually need this and idk why it showed up in my recommedned but i sure as hell respect anyone who does this cuz that shit looks hard af. dont you poke your head? with the needle?

    • @NjeriK95
      @NjeriK95 8 лет назад +92

      +Reine Sammouh she doesn't need weave, no one needs it, it's just a style preference. The Kardashians wear weaves and wigs all they time not because they need it but because they like how it looks, the same goes for mostly everyone who chooses to wear weave or wigs.

    • @reinesammouh361
      @reinesammouh361 8 лет назад +37

      +njeri1 i meant that i dont need to wear a weave to get the same look. i really didn't mean that in an offensive way i just meant that my hair is already straight so i dont need to do anything anything to make it straight if i wanted to? does that make sense? i hope it does... im sorry i really didn't mean to offend you or her or anyone for that matter

    • @Bisforever
      @Bisforever 8 лет назад +23

      +Reine Sammouh lol just ignore people that get too easily offended. typically people have a curved needle and they only put the needle in unitl its under the braid so you dont stab yourself. with straight needles, it can happen but typically people that use them have worked with them for a while and know the angle to put the needle in

    • @NjeriK95
      @NjeriK95 8 лет назад +39

      bisforever Or you can address what you intended to address and not pretend to know if i was offended or not. The way she worded it was that she didn't need weave because she's arab and i let her know that anyone can wear a weave. Clearly she doesn't know anything about this kind of hair styling so why would she know how popular it is among all hair types. Tell me where i was offended in my comment.

    • @Bisforever
      @Bisforever 8 лет назад +14

      she doesn't know everything but her saying she doesn't need weave bc her hair is natural similar to that was in no way saying that black girls need weave and you went off like it was an intentional mean comment. you can take your drama elsewhere. I already addressed what I need to but thanks again. njeri1
