Starting with a build of Windows 10 - Device Manager no longer works for finding new drivers - "on the internet (Microsoft compatible drivers database - to be more exact)". It will always say - that you have the latest drivers. Can still be used for a custom installation (to browse for drivers you downloaded manually) - but an automatic search - is now done through Windows Updates. Tho, sometimes - the drivers are not shown in main update windows but: Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional Updates.

RE: SSDs, leave them alone, there's no need to optimise them in any way. Hope that helps :)

@@studioonetuts yes you do. It says retrim, not defragment. TRIM operations are required to sync trash status of cells so the SSD actually removes trashed data from those cells. If TRIM does not occur, the drive will get full without Windows seeing it. Most configurations do this properly automatically, but it doesn’t hurt to do so. Windows 10 introduced separate treatment of SSDs ad HDDs in Defragmenter.

Hi! Im using a presonus audiobox usb 96 on my brand new alienware laptop windows 11. The quality diminishes drastically when processing. Any advice?

When processing would you be referring to using Studio One for example? If so, set the dropout protection to minimal and adjust the device block size in the options menu - Rich
