VCUarts I Lecture Series : Loie Hollowell

VCUarts Painting + Printmaking graduate Loie Hollowell (M.F.A. ’12) in conversation with art historian Katie Anania, Ph.D. on October 6th, 2023 at Virginia Commonwealth University's Grace Street Theatre. Hollowell speaks to recent developments in her practice, her experiences as a VCUarts student and the important role drawing plays in her creative process.
This lecture coincided with Drawing as Urtext, the first exhibition to solely explore the unique significance of the Hollowell’s drawings, which are both “preparatory”-serving as the basis for future works-and fully realized standalone art.
