This song is very very powerful to me because it describes my feelings towards my ex stepfather. I was abused by both him and my mother from the time I was 8 until I was 16 and he walked out on us (us being me, my mom, and two younger brothers) and though I still harbor a lot of anger towards him a part of me is also hurt that he left without even saying goodbye (after being my stepdad for 10 years) and for some reason this song brings all those memories and feelings flooding back. I think that is what music is all about ; making people feel, experiencing the raw emotion. That may not be what the songwriters intended this song to be about but it resonates with me in that way and I just want to say thank you for this song.
