It's good to have a decent UV light in your collection for certain tasks and sofirn is a good brand that doesn't usually break the bank alongside their sister company Wurkkos, are you Han Chinese by any chance? I'm interested in names, genealogy and history that kind of thing.

Hi mate, yes it's a great UV light that just works well.. and has everything included. Yes I am, but I don't know a whole lot about my family history.

@@DarrenYeoYT no worries man and yes it's a good one, I might pick this up at some time as the other UV light I have got is side switch only and I really like having a tail cap on everything.

UV light can only be reflected with Aluminum. Aluminum foil, even, but not Mylar, or Mylar covered reflectors, which are often glued onto plastic reflectors.
So, any reflection will be from any light emitted over 400nm, which we can see, or from actual Aluminum. UV should only be seen/illuminated when shining on Aluminum. Any other "illumination"/light being seen, is above UV, or 400nm.
Keep this in mind when seeing something under UV. You probably know more than me, anyway, lol. Maybe tiny amounts of Aluminum in plant tissue, etc reflects..?! Or the little light over 400nm..?!
I've just seen UVA/UVB used in grow lights, and learned watching testing of different fixtures. I'm surprised how much really became illuminated. Love to learn more.
Didn't know there were UV Flashlights out there..?! Very cool "how and why" they've been made. Great video. Thanks! 👍💯✌️

Interesting comments mate, I don't know all that much about UV light but UVA/B are apparently germicidal and more dangerous to us. The 365nm emitters are way better than the 395 ones which produce too much visible light!

The Sofirn SF16 torch purchased in Feb 2024 does not work now. I kept it on charging & aftr 5 hrs tried 2 switch it on but only d indicator light turns green & not d main UV light at front. Does not turn on while charging too. Suggest BTS

Better contact Sofirn to claim that warranty. It's too early for anything to break.

@@DarrenYeoYT How to contact them? I tried their phone numbers of China on the manual. Emailed them on their email address given. Sent a tweet on their twitter handle. But no response. Now googling ways which have guided me to a conclusion that the LED head has the issue. Battery and tail switch are all good.

Great for finding urine stains and other biological waste. Use it at a hotel and check the toilet and bedding for stains. Probably the main reason people buy these is lights.

Certain species of mould, fungus also shows up under this light. Thought my bathroom was clean... No haha
