W 140 rocznice urodzin Karola Szymanowskiego, cudownie jest patrzeć jak dzieła wielkiego polskiego kompozytora są podziwiane i chętnie wykonywane na całym świecie przez wszystkie pokolenia muzyków ❤

I consider this piece a 20th century masterwork and you did a wonderful job, Mr. Nersessian !

+Peter Lunow Agree wholeheartedly with your ear. The early Rubinstein record was an enlightenment for me many years ago and this pianist whom I don't know is a wonderful musician as is Anderszewski in the live performance on youtube. But I first heard this long before I knew the Prokofiev 3rd concerto which was written 11 years before this Szymanowski work and the obvious similarities are readily apparent. Needs to be heard much more often.

A very interesting piece with various "folk" elements. Has the feel of Hungarian folk music and Bartokian gestures. Very well played by both solost and orchestra!

Terrific piece, but I must say that it really did sound more like a concerto than a symphony. It has much of the gusto of Bartok's Second Piano Concerto.

I wish our symphony orchestra would do more pieces like this. Alas, it's mostly the romantics.

Zauważyliście, że na skrzypcach (tuż za fortepianem) gra Zbigniew Boniek?

You are correct. He missed the last chord. Strange!

The piano here is like a dog's fifth leg. The 3rd symphony is much better and more organic.
