- Live improvised jam with the Korg Wavestate Synthesizer playing a four-layer custom patch.

Wavestate performance mod knobs:
Knob 1: Layer A (arp) Octave
Knob 2: Layer B (arp bass) Octave
Knob 3: Layer C (pad) Octave
Knob 4: Layer D (solo) Octave
Knob 5: Layer A (arp) Amp Level
Knob 6: Layer B (arp bass) Amp Level
Knob 7: Layer C (pad) Amp Level
Knob 8: Layer D (solo) Amp Level
Joystick X changes the retriggering of notes in Layer B (bass).
Joystick X changes the retriggering of notes in Layer A (arp).
ModWheel sets the Filter Cutoff for Layer D (solo).
The audio is recorded to SD card on a Zoom R16 mixer/recorder and normalized in Audacity. Video is recorded on a Canon EOS M50 mk2 with the included EF-M 15-45mm lens. Audio and video is synchronized in DaVinci Resolve 18 (free version).

But actually do you use some sort of looper or reverb to be able to play the melody and still have the ambient music in the background?
Looked like the pads were set to a lower key range and have layer hold on. So he started them, then moved up an octave or two so they’re no longer responding to the keys. Sounds like the arpeggio has the filter closed and is controlled in the same way, he opens the filter on it with the white performance knobs. Then he can adjust levels for the layers with the vector stick. This synth is a beast for playing a whole song if you plan well. No need for a looper or external effects.

None of the above 😁.
I have set the filter and amp envelope to be triggered by the step seq, and step seq to use the shape seq. So if I specify a shape with multiple peaks, the note will trigger multiple times.
