Sara love island fav is so valid. This season of USA has been one of the best and craziest ever and I’m an OG love island uk girlie. My boyfriend and I go off about every episode of love island USA this summer😂
I grew up trick or treating in the suburbs but as someone that now lives in an apartment, I know (at least for me) leading up to halloween, the front office will have like a flyer for people that are participating to tape to their door on halloween so that kids know which doors to knock on.
As someone who grew up in nyc we would first go trick or treating in all the stores, then go to the nicest apartment complex we can find and wait till someone who lived there went inside, so we could just sneak in and then work our way up every floor then repeated with any other complex’s we can find
Highly recommend going to Boston during the fall. Went last year for a trip and walking around in the foliage, going to salem, and just the vibes and architecture was so fun in the fall.
We do trick or treat in TX! you should probably see if your neighborhood has a specific time they have the kids walk around bc that’s common down here but yard decorations are HUGE usually people go all out especially in suburbs
To your point on trends, I think it really also depends on the group of individuals you hang out with because what is a new trend to someone it could be a lifestyle for someone else. It’s so amazing that we live in a time where our clothing and makeup is a form of how we express ourselves and its more accepted by society and I love that for the world, we should be able to connect with one another but also be our most comfortable and most authentic self’s (if that makes sense) ❤
I have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, also called POTS. but when you stand up from sitting or laying you’re blood pressure drops and heart rate increases. sometimes you’ll fully faint sometimes you catch it in time and just loss vision and/or hearing. but being hydrated and making sure you eat enough salt are helpful, plus getting up slowly hahah
One of my favorite authors is Allison Speka. She’s an indie author (who I found on TikTok) who writes romance with banter with small town feels. Love her books and they’re all around the 300 page mark!
Hope youre feeling better Sara! Aside from iron, caffeine can also make you have episodes like that! I know youre a coffee and matcha girlie so something to consider. But yes definitely up your water intake :) love your girl's podcast!
As a Texan, we definitelyyyyyy trick-or-treat!! Although it’s so hot, it’s so fun and exciting going to the rich neighborhoods and getting the full-sized bars!! There’s also a ton of haunted houses and haunted hotels, especially in Galveston!!🎃🍫
Past city kid here LOL trick or treating was sooo fun sometimes it was just apartment lobby doormen vs door to door/floor to floor! And also kids go to malls and the businesses will have candy!
On the water topic! I think water tastes different in parts of the same state as well! I live with southwest virginia and my boyfriend lives 4 hours away in the top of northern virginia and the water taste different there!!
A lot of churches here in Texas hold trunk-or-treating in parking lots for people that don’t have neighborhoods to go to, but yes, trick-or-treating is still very much a big thing here
I haven't watched Modern Family as a whole, just bits throughout the years and I fear me and my husband are also Claire and Phil. He loves it and finds it hilarious. And now I really wanna watch it.
I used to say “I’ll never have iPads for my kids” and then I had two kiddos and they both have a kindle fire tablet.. I am honestly glad they have it now since they read so many books on it! 😍🥰
in 2014 i started pretty little liars at the age of 11 and even my native language is turkish. i finished the episodes that are out and after that i waited a week for every episode until it finished in 2017. it was a fever dream to make assumptions about who was A.
In the first 10 min when y'all were talking about trends and if they will come back around or not or if things will mean the same. I'm generation X and when my nieces and nephews started saying he ate, "I'm like oh no, did he go to the hospital" and they look at me like I'm crazy and they say no "he ate and left no crumbs " and I'm like what? I grew up in the 80's and early 90's and hung around skateboarders and BMX bike stunt people and if we heard ,he ate, it meant that persons mouth met the pavement, and yes it happened so often that there was a phrase ,so you can see how confused I was when I started hearing people say that.
i felt so seen because netflix has been dividing episodes for a lot of shows, for example cobra kai, they released 5 episodes june 18th and then another five in november and the last five don’t have a date, it just makes you not want to watch the show especially because they always leave it with an unnecessary cliffhanger!
The word yap originally dates back to the 17th century to describe the high pitched bark of a dog. It eventually became a term in the 1800s to describe people talking.
DES!!!!! LISTEN TO STARTING OVER BY CHRIS STAPLETON. That was my favorite song when I was moving it just hits. That and humble & kind by Tim McGraw and of course Vienna which you said!
I live in one of the first houses of a neighborhood and my first year we moved in, there was only ONE trick or tricker, I was devastatedddd! Haven’t done halloween since 😢
i added Summer Romance by Annabel Monaghan to my amazon wishlist and then a couple days later the price of the kindle edition dropped down to $1.99 ... 🙌 thanks amazon Australia 💖
Millennial here who truly lived through the mustache and chevron craze, and wore biz casual to the club, and I can't help but think the same about bows...but at least they're cuter!
idk if anyone else said this in the comments but according to google ai overview or whatever, christopher heydon (soldier and astronomer) was the first person to say/write yap in the 1600s to describe a high pitched bark of a dog. it was in the 1800s when it was started to be used as a verb for human talking . 1900s, rappers started to use the word in their songs (the verb) including jay-z and nas. then in 2023 we all started saying it lol. okay that’s it if yall were curious and didn’t want to look it up 😂😂
I live in a city, what I do is take my daughter to her aunt's house in another town and go trick or treating there with them. Alot of people in the city do that.
A not-so Fun fact about Chappel Roan: The town she grew up in (Willard, Missouri) is the town where my mom’s local pastor (when she was growing up) ex wife was murdered with her boyfriend in Willard by her boyfriends uncle. (Sorry this was a very random fact but I only recently found out about the murder, and as soon as I did my sister was like “oh that’s the town that Chappel Roan grew up in” so now I’ll always correlate the two)
the avocado jellycat perched on sara's bookshelf in the reflection is so cute 😭
this episode felt so unhinged and i loved every second of it. sara: "can i ask joe who?.... jonas?" des: "absolutely not."
What wrong with Joe Jonas???!! 😂😂😂seriously Des!!! 😂😂
My comfort people, as someone who’s chronically ill you guys always light up my day
Felt !
I know Des was probably trying to not show her office yet but I loved having her closer to the camera. It was like FaceTiming a bestie 😂🥰
no I relate to Sarah’s struggle because if I stand up too quickly after waking up especially in the middle of the night I literally throw up 😂
😂 I have an iron deficiency so it happens every single time I stand up
Okay kinda related and kinda not but does anyone else’s feet hurt in the morning when they stand for the first time? So random, I know
@@user-wc6bl4zs4imine used to right around the time I was first diagnosed with severe anemia but have somehow stopped since
Oh my gosh thank you for bringing back the timestamps 😭 I was dying without them!
Texans love Halloween! & yes, we trick or treat and love Halloween decorations!!!

I grew up trick or treating in the suburbs but as someone that now lives in an apartment, I know (at least for me) leading up to halloween, the front office will have like a flyer for people that are participating to tape to their door on halloween so that kids know which doors to knock on.
People definitely trick or treat in Texas Des. 💖💖💖

As someone who grew up in nyc we would first go trick or treating in all the stores, then go to the nicest apartment complex we can find and wait till someone who lived there went inside, so we could just sneak in and then work our way up every floor then repeated with any other complex’s we can find
I definitely agree with Sara on making playlists!!!!
Man the intro music just hits every single week!!!
Highly recommend going to Boston during the fall. Went last year for a trip and walking around in the foliage, going to salem, and just the vibes and architecture was so fun in the fall.
Destiny is so real for the "does he like it or do I"
I have lived in Austin my whole life! Welcome! love listening to you both espically when I am trying to write two papers due tonight!
Also look into POTS if it really becomes a frequent issue. Those were my main symptoms and I was diagnosed last year.
Your kindle case is from FromBooksToBooks!! I’ve gotten so much from her! The shop is so lovely 💘✨📚
We do trick or treat in TX! you should probably see if your neighborhood has a specific time they have the kids walk around bc that’s common down here but yard decorations are HUGE usually people go all out especially in suburbs

One of my favorite authors is Allison Speka. She’s an indie author (who I found on TikTok) who writes romance with banter with small town feels. Love her books and they’re all around the 300 page mark!
Destiny. I also LOVE watching Cars. It’s such a comfort movie for me and I watch it all the time.
Des! If you like Chipotle, you have to try Cabo Bob's!! It is an Austin staple!
what's crazy is that the leapord print / cheetah print is already coming back 🐆 i've been seeing it everywhere now! (and i luv it lol)
Yay, the besties are so comforting to me to watch (:
Hope youre feeling better Sara! Aside from iron, caffeine can also make you have episodes like that! I know youre a coffee and matcha girlie so something to consider. But yes definitely up your water intake :) love your girl's podcast!

Des Austin weather is super great in the fall compared to other places I’ve lived, I think you’re going to be pleasantly surprised!
On the water topic! I think water tastes different in parts of the same state as well! I live with southwest virginia and my boyfriend lives 4 hours away in the top of northern virginia and the water taste different there!!

Hey I love your videos they bring me so much joy
I haven't watched Modern Family as a whole, just bits throughout the years and I fear me and my husband are also Claire and Phil. He loves it and finds it hilarious. And now I really wanna watch it.
As soon as state fair of Texas starts in Dallas is when I know fall is here 🤍🤍🤍
I used to say “I’ll never have iPads for my kids” and then I had two kiddos and they both have a kindle fire tablet.. I am honestly glad they have it now since they read so many books on it! 😍🥰
I needed something to listen to today 🫶🏼
Cinnamon Sugar Dots ROCK!!!
I love these favorites episodes!!
in 2014 i started pretty little liars at the age of 11 and even my native language is turkish. i finished the episodes that are out and after that i waited a week for every episode until it finished in 2017. it was a fever dream to make assumptions about who was A.

In the first 10 min when y'all were talking about trends and if they will come back around or not or if things will mean the same. I love how destiny started talking abt false god and im like ya exactly
yes we trick or treat in texas😭😭😭
one of my surprise songs at the eras tour was guilty as sin!!
Destiny! Tell us about your skin! it looks amazing and glowy!!
Love island US is so good 💜💜
We get maybe 3 trick-or-treaters. And we get Little Debbie snacks! I think most go to trunk-or-treats, etc. I’d be curious though if you get any!
Also before iPads or tons of TV or social media, they sent you outside to play and told you not to come back until dinner time
i felt so seen because netflix has been dividing episodes for a lot of shows, for example cobra kai, they released 5 episodes june 18th and then another five in november and the last five don’t have a date, it just makes you not want to watch the show especially because they always leave it with an unnecessary cliffhanger!

this made my day 🤍
My heart breaks for Des, Texas fall weather is either 90° or -5° the next day. 🥀💔
Indiana water is so good 😊
Omg I’m dying to get my hands on that tortured readers sweatshirt too! But it’s been sold out for a while and I don’t know if she’s doing a restock😩
Random thought.... Sara gives me gwyn vibes from Acotar! It's her look, voice and personality!!
Why does Des have the prettiest eyes 😭😭
Y’all didn’t trick or treat in Indiana? 🤯 we love our holidays in Texas 🫶🏻
i added Summer Romance by Annabel Monaghan to my amazon wishlist and then a couple days later the price of the kindle edition dropped down to $1.99 ... 🙌 thanks amazon Australia 💖
Millennial here who truly lived through the mustache and chevron craze, and wore biz casual to the club, and I can't help but think the same about bows...but at least they're cuter!
Destiny: “I was in a panic I needed to go get my rotisserie chicken”
Sara: “and that happens”
Valid 😂
finally Chappell is getting talked about!!
we desperately need a studio version of Medicine by harry styles omg that song is so freaking good but its only live for some reason.
idk if anyone else said this in the comments but according to google ai overview or whatever, christopher heydon (soldier and astronomer) was the first person to say/write yap in the 1600s to describe a high pitched bark of a dog. it was in the 1800s when it was started to be used as a verb for human talking . 1900s, rappers started to use the word in their songs (the verb) including jay-z and nas. then in 2023 we all started saying it lol.
okay that’s it if yall were curious and didn’t want to look it up 😂😂
Love island has to be one of the most entertaining shows. Casa amor??? PEAK DRAMA
I live in a city, what I do is take my daughter to her aunt's house in another town and go trick or treating there with them. Alot of people in the city do that.
There's nothing wrong with a rotisserie chicken dinner! HEB has a raspberry chipotle sauce that goes great with it.
